I am 24 years old. I started using the Nuvaring about 9 months ago, back in November shortly after my youngest son was born. In January, only two months after starting it, I was beginning to have severe stomach pains and a lot of nausea that would come and go throughout the day. I went into the emergency room one night because it got so bad and they told me that I was going to have to have my gallbladder removed due to large stones. I'm trying to figure out whether anyone else has had any similar issues with the ring. I have read here and there that gallbladder disease is a side effect but I also have issues with it in my family. Has anyone else had a problem with this? I have also dealt with a lot of depression, headaches, slight weight gain, mood changes (just as bad, if not worse then while I was pregnant) and I am going to have to schedule an eye exam because it seems like the past few months, my eye sight has just gone down hill fast. I have never had to wear glasses or contacts.

Has anyone else out there had issues with their gallbladder and eyesight? Most of the posts that I see are saying issues with hair loss and depression. I am seriously thinking about talking to my doctor about changing methods, I was just wondering if there are people having symptoms like mine or whether I need to attribute them to something else. Any information would be helpful, Thanks.

I got Mirena March 3rd, 2009 - The first 3 weeks I had the bleeding and small clots along with HORRIBLE cramping that about took me into the ER on 3 different occasions. After that it seemed a little better, well, until recently that is. I have been experiencing dizziness, headaches, lightheadedness and fainting spell. These were the unexplained symptoms. Next I noticed horrible tingling in my arms and hands and sometimes even legs and feet. Not just a little tingling, I mean a lot, like the kind that wont let you lay down at night or sleep. I have been very nauseated and often feel like I'm about to get sick but nothing comes out. It's amassing that all of my symptoms started about 4 months ago, around the time Mirena was inserted and have just been escalating. I have not had a period since the initial bleeding occurred, but i have had the brownish discharge that others have mentioned as well about once a month. Also heard palpitations and chest pain has been occurring more often. I blame this on my asthma, which has got worse over the last 4 months also along with an increase use of my inhaler. Can this be related? My neck is always tense and I feel my joints are also becoming more inflamed. My vision is sometimes blurred and at my last eye exam last week my doctor had noted a "drastic" vision change and increased my lens strength within the last 6 months. The last symptom I can think about is how tired I have been. I have a very active 16 month old and it's exhausting trying to keep up with him and finishing nursing school full time. My mom did mention today how "moody" I have became over the last few months, maybe its stress related? Maybe it's all Mirena related? I would like to know more...wouldn't you?

I was started on Advair HFA about 35 days ago. A little background about me is that I'm 35 years old, in good physical shape. I'm a competitive cyclists doing road races anywhere from 45-100 miles, I work out 2-4 hours everyday. I've had lifelong chronic asthma, but have fought the disease with my healthy lifestyle. I also play the saxophone.

Since I've been on Advair I've developed a constant sore throat. Been coughing up stuff constantly when I'm out training on my bike. Can't seem to sleep for more than a few hours at a time. The worst side affect has been the leg cramps which are killing my training for up coming races. I have constant leg cramps that force me to get out of bed over and over to work them out. My energy levels have dropped to the point that I can't do even half a workout without being totally wiped out. This is coming from a guy that averages 60miles a day on the bike, the other day I couldn't even do 15 miles and had to stop from the constant cramps and tiredness. This stuff is a nightmare. I've gone back to using nothing but my albuterol inhaler. I'll continue to do lung exercises 4 times a day and completely clean up my diet and basically get this stuff out of my system. Let this be a warning that you can't get something positive without something negative as well.

Shortly after I began taking Wellbutrin XR my left eye bagen to twitch. I discontinued the medication and the flinching stopped. Three years later my eye is twitching again. I am not sure if there is a correlation or not. I had an eye exam and have no problems with my vision.

Has anyone else had problems wearing contact lenses with Yasmin? I've been on it for about three years now -- about a year ago my eyes started completely rejecting my contact lenses. I'm at the point where I can't wear them anymore. I'm thinking of changing to a different medication to see if that helps, but I don't know if it's just my eyes, the Yasmin, or all birth control. I know there is a definite connection, I've done some research. Has anyone else experienced this side effect?

I have beenon lipitor for more than five years. I now have unbearable pains in my shoulders which are only relieved with antiinflammatories. I also have pains in my right foot which is sometimes very difficult to walk on. My Dr says ok go off lipitor but risk heart attack/stroke. I am getting to the point that the pain is so debilitating that Idon't care.

My eyesight has not changed in the last 2 years. I just had an eye exam 3 months ago. However, I suddenly found myself with my eyesight so bad I now have to wear different glasses for different things. I have been on Advair for about a year. I heard a blurb on TV that Advair can affect your eyesight. It certainly has mine. I have a very hard time now with my sight. I am thinking of going to an Attorney as I have documented proof that my eyesight has become worse almost suddenly. Another eye exam confirmed this and I have to get much stronger glasses. I stopped the Advair a month ago hoping my sight would improve but it didn't happen.

I'm not sure if advair was the cause, but my son has been on advair continuously for 4 years. He recently had an eye exam which showed an increased ocular pressure(24). I looked up the possible causes for this in children and I noticed some info on steroid associated IOP. I wonder if his might be caused from the inhaled steroid.

I've been taking Neurontin for about 2 months (300mg 3x/day) to lessen the pain of occipital neuralgia.....the pain is still present, but not disabling. This is the only medication I am taking.

Side effects I've experienced are extreme fatigue the first couple weeks....then, tired often if I don't get enough sleep. Another thing I've experienced is weight gain and increased appetite - Big time!! All I want to do is eat.

I'm forgetful and miss doses often. If I skip two doses, the pain comes back full force and I'm in bed for a day.

wish you all the best.

Someone here mentioned one pupil was "unequal", which I found interesting: I had an eye exam a couple weeks ago for eye pain; it was noted that my left pupil was more dialated....this is a first for me. However, overall, my eyes are good...

Hi, I'm 21, and I'm going to get my 6th and final Lupron shot this Friday. I can't believe how much I have in common with all of you who have posted your side effects. I had a laporoscopy in May, and after that my back pain became incredibly worse, and has not gotten any better. I'm tired all the time, completely exhausted, yet I can't sleep at night. When I finally fall asleep (between 1 and 3am) I wake up constantly. But I can't fall asleep during the day. My ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows, and wrists all hurt so bad. I have to lay on my back to sleep. I have constant headaches and migraines, sometimes they last up to 3 or 4 days. And they only go away temporarily when I take pain killers for it. My vision got wierd too, kind of blurry, and my eyes hurt, so I had an eye exam and it turned out fine, which I don't understand. I can barely function, even doing simple chores around the house can be difficult sometimes. I just don't feel like myself anymore. I feel disconnected, not like I'm depressed, although I feel that way every now and then, I just don't feel one way or the other about most things. I guess I just kind of feel "blah." The worst thing is, is that my back pain has not gotten any better, and the endo pain is only relieved a little bit. Sex is still painful, just not as excruciating as before the lap and Lupron. I took my Dr's word that the Lupron would help, but I've only been dissapointed so far, and I'm almost finished with the treatment. I basically followed through with the 6 month treatment just so that I could say I tried it. And if it doesn't help, than I'm definately not doing it again, and I would not recommend it to anyone else for that matter. It has definately changed my life, only adding to the pain and problems I had in the first place. I'm pretty certain that my endo problems will come back in full force when I finish the Lupron, and I don't even know where to go next. Maybe another, more aggressive surgery? For now, I guess I just have to wait it out, and only time will tell.

I had a serious swelling and redness around my eyes 3 weeks ago. My first visit to the doctor, he gave me 60 mg kenalog. The next day I was worse, He drew blood & gave me Zyrtec. The third day it was worse, and I was having problems swallowing, my husband took me to a different doctor, I told him about the first injection, He said it may not have been enough and gave me another 60 mg kenalog, and Allegra. Finally, the swelling stopped and started to recede. A week later the symtoms, started again, however, I was not near medical help. I started downing benedryl. I still have discoloration around my eyes, and have developed cataracts, which I did not have weeks before, (I had an eye exam shortly before this, and had to go back due to seeing problems) However, the doctors did say if the injection was not into the muscle, and was injected into the fat, it could cause deteriorization of the fat and a divit in the area injected. I don't have that problem. I asked the md about the kenelog about causing cataracts, and was told it was a condition that should clear up in a couple of weeks. I'll keep you posted if is disapates.

-Cataracts-Iwas 41 and taken Seroquel 3 yrs-at the time of beginning I had an eye check (just was time, nothing to do with starting S) and all was fine. 3 Yrs later my eye doc was surprised to see I had developed cataracts which is not common in younger person. They do not run in family. I will never know for sure, but seems to me it would take a long time for the connection to be made. How many people have taken it and not had eye exam? They may get cataracts, and not make connection. I have found 2 other women online with same thing. It also caused them in dogs. Tolerated it well otherwise, but discontinued. I would urge anyone who has taken it for a length of time to get full dilation eye exam. I had implants now and many problems. If anyone has had this happen please let me know. Linda
