Eye lids symptoms and conditions

I 've had Mirena for 17 days my first symptom in the 1st week was i woke up with my eye lids full of fluid,it has been that way everyday .now their itchy,red and peeling.I also feel like i have to urinate frequently and my scalp itches like crazy,I think i'm having allergic reactions to this thing,it coming out.I wish i would have seen this sight before i got this.

My 3 month old son was prescribed Omnicef for an ear infection, once a day for ten days. I was on the same drug for a sinus infection and the doctor felt that since I was breast feeding the baby and I should be on the same drug. First dose was Sunday night. On Monday my son developed red spots on his legs. On Tuesday he woke up with a rash all over his face/ears/neck basically all over his body. It progressively got worse that day with his eye lids swelling, and his hands being swollen. The Dr. took him immediately off the antibiotic and prescribed Benadryl every 6 hours. By Thursday the rash started to go away and on Friday he was rash free. The rash on his body was a mixture of a "flat" rash and a "raised" rash. No other symptoms and was a very happy child eating and sleeping normal. I was freaking out because he just looked awful, like he was sunburned all over body. Now I want to know if this will be a permanent reaction or something he will out grow? Pharm said Omnicef is a good drug and one that the newer drugs are being developed off of. J.

My Mom (87) who was in great health given her age, was given Avelox for a urinary tract infection. She has developed severe side effects that include shortness of breath,chest pressure, (not chest pain)swelling of her esophagus & eye lids, confusion/agitation, dry mouth,complaints of twitching in her mouth.
The worse case of all the symptoms has been the swelling of the esophagus and eyelids. Her eyes are swollen shut and she labors to swallow & talk. Eating is a monumental task.
She is currently hospitalized and the medical team seems to be having a hard time accepting this as an allergic reaction to the Avelox. They have run series of tests to look for other things such as pnuenomina, heart issues and stroke issues. So far the tests have revealed nothing out of the ordinary. One would think that they would start treatment with steroids or another anti-allergic treatment but they seemed convinced that the Avelox is a non issue because she only took 2 doses @ 400 mg each starting Saturday & Sunday (11/29-30). This ordeal started Sunday early evening.
If anyone else has experienced specifically swelling of the throat & eyes please post!

Levaquin 750 I took one pill almost took my life 2 days ago it felt like I swallowed a bee and it keep stinging as it went down and my blood felt like it was boiling I looked like a lobster within seconds swelled up 3 times in size I look horrible my lips swelled out my eye lids my hands everywhere and my skin turned deep purple like leather and I couldn't breathe my throat swelled shut had to call an ambulance and the had to get me breathing again and rush me into the emergency room, now I have tightness in my chest and tingling in my finger and toes and bad pain in my stomach omg they need to take this drug off the market!

I started Levaquin 500 MG on Thursday Aug. 29, 2008. I did not have any problem the first night. But the second day at about 3:00 PM I was working on my computer when my finger joints started to get stiff and my hands and arms started to shake. I just thought I was tired and forgot about it. At 1:30 AM August 30, I was awakened by someone shouting in my ear , You are going to die. I woke up in a sweat and my heart pounding. My hand were stiff and my knee joints were very tight. I also was in a very bad panic attack.
I went to my desk and wrote my wife a letter telling her how much I loved her and my dog Abby. I then proceeded to give her funeral instructions as to which funeral home church and buriel plot.. This writing was 3 pages long. I called my doctor and they as much told me this could not happen. My blood pressure was 240 over 120 when I took it. I took a valium and this calmed me down in 10 minutes. They gave me a new antibiotic for my Bronchitis. So I thought the nightmares and pain was over. Not so quick last night at 2:20 AM I was awake by the screaming in my ears you are going to die. I tried to call my wife but I could not get the word out for help. I tried to move my hands and fingers they would not move. Finally I rolled off the bed and yelled my wifes name she did not hear me.
This drug has set back my recovery from my panic attacks. This drug should be badded by the FDA. But as usual the government does nothing to help the public only big business.

i have been itching has anyone else been itching??? my back, arms, stomach, and chest! my back itches the worst!!! i am calling my doctor tomorrow to see what i need to do about it! and i have already been on it for a few months! please let me know if any of you have had this side effect!? thanx a lot

I am in my second week of this pill and I suddenly developed a rash all over my face, mostly on my cheeks and on my eye lids near the bridge of my nose. Has anyone else experienced these side effects??

My Dr. started me on Toprol XL when I was constantly complaining of migraines. Imitrex worked the first couple times I used it, then it didn't any more. My blood pressure was not real high, but higher than normal so he suggested Toprol XL. He told me it would lower my BP and help prevent migraines. I started with 25 mg, worked up to 100 mg a day. I've been on it for over a year now and only have migraines about once every 3 months or so whereas before they were coming 2 and 3 times per month and lasting 2 to 4 days each time. My BP is normal and all seemed fine. About 5 months ago, I started having problems keeping my contact lenses in, especially at the end of the day or when I was tired. My eye doctor asked me what meds I was taking. Turns out one side effect of Toprol XL is drying of the eyes. After wearing extended wear contacts for 20 years, only taking them out once a week, now I have to take them out every single night. Other than that I really can't complain. It's worth it to me to not have the migraines. I have not noticed any of the symptoms on this web site.

i've been on synthroid for 9 years. started at some low dose and gradually went up to112 mg. get extreme itching all day everyday if i don't take allegra for that.not a rash just itching. that doesn't bother me as much as the fatique. every joint in my body aches all the time. sure there are better days but fo rthe most part it's bad. tried physical therapy and chiripratic care but no avail. they ended my sessions. my legs get sooo weak and my feet burn lower back really aches. sometimes muscle cramps. i'm very negative towards my loving family and it hurts me to do so. can't seem to keep upbeat. soo tired all the time.
is it the syntroid? i used to be very energenic and a doer. now i have spurts of activity in the morning , but then i just can't get motivated. help me any suggestions?

I take 10 mg prednisone for my emphysema.Since I started taking it I have gained twenty pounds and have unusal skin rash on my face plus I become irratated at times for very little reason.Up until I started taking it I was allways skinny.I hate this stuff!!!!

It's officially been one week since I've inserted the Nuvaring. Never been on birth control before and had my first child 2 months ago. So far I've been very sluggish, no energy what-so-ever. Usually I can go on 5 hrs of sleep and still be functional, for the past week that has not been the case. I've also been a complete mental-case. My boyfriend is ready to leave me. Also not sure if this is a side effect but my eye lids began itching 2 nights ago and have been very puffy since then. Not sure if I should take it out or give it some more time.

I took 3 days worth of 500mg Levaquin last week - and I have just now realized after reading from this site that all of the past troubles I have had while taking Levaquin is directly related to the drug itself. I have chronic UTI's and the last 3-4 times I have taken Levaquin (7 Day Doses) - I have had flu-like symptoms - I general "yucky" feeling. I was very tired and sore all over. Then 2 days ago - I developed a horrible acne rash all over my chin & chest and my eye lids felt scorched - like the whole side of my face had been slapped about 100 times! My dreams were vivid and some were nightmares and my general "state of mind" seemed slower than usual. I couldn't associate words with their meanings and my memory was shot to h***! I thought to finally look on the internet and see what would come up under "Side Effects Of Levaquin" - I was shocked to read all that I had - because all of it was exactly what I had been going through. It's good to know I wasn't "crazy" and had it all in my head. I will be notifying my urologist as soon as possible to let me him know I will NOT be taking that in the future. Does any one know of a way to get this out of the body quicker? I have been drinking water like crazy!!!! ******

Another Lipitor horror story.I have just been diagnosed with dermatomyositis caused by lipitor.It is a horrible skin disease.I had been on lipitor for close to 2 yrs.It took 4 doctors to finally give me a name to this skin stuff.Also muscle weakness is one of the symptoms and lots more.Am trying to get the skin rash and and pain under control.Just had a skin biopsy today.I have had this for 9 months and it has gotten worse every month.Rash is like a sun burn on chest and back and arms.Around eyes and on eye lids and under eyes is purple rash.

It will natural med for me or live with high cholestrol.

If you are on Lipitor and get a rash find a good dermatologist.

I have been experiencing twitching in my eye lids for the last week. I am taking 300mg 3 x per day for a problem with herniated disc in my neck which has caused a problem with nerve discomfort down my right shoulder and arm into my fingers.

I have been on Yasmin for five weeks. I started taking this pill at the advice of my doctor to control unbearable periods. My periods are great but I am very nauseated most every day and my skin is extremely dry. I am dehydrated all the time; even after drinking tons of water. Never before have I had to put lotion on my eye lids!! Does anyone else have that problem?
