My mother actually already posted about my experience with Levaquin, but I thought I would add my own story.
After being perscribed Levaquin and taking only one...I couldn't sleep, my heart rate (normally below 60) was at atleast 110, I thought people were outside my house and envisioned them talking about killing me. I have never felt this way in my life. It was very scary and I called the ER to ask if I should continue taking the meds. They told me to take another and see what happens... Thank goodness I threw it up, because after reading these horror stories, I'm afraid I may have had permanent damage. This drug is absolutely awful for those with side effects. Stop taking them at the first sign of symptoms like these. Most doctors it looks like are oblivious to the fact that this is happening.

Seven jears ago I had to have a total Historectomy. After that my live turnd upside down, including sever skinrashes.I was on Kenalog hipinjections for 5 years, having shots every 6 month. Then i had a bonedensity test done . The results were rather somber. My density on my hipps had lost 25% bonemass. The rest of my bodys bonemass was fine. This is criminal, becaus I was never told, that this Drug would do this to your body. All the Doctors that I confronted about this issue ,denied the fact that this Drug is very dangerous. I hope one day we can take all the Drugcompanies to Court.

Why are doctors ignoring the fact that this family of antibiotics is hurting people all over the world? It doesn't make sense. If you read the prescribing information from ortho-mcneill you will see all of these complaints listed as side effects. Why are these doctors doing this????? And Medwatch, what's with them. I personally know that they have been bombarded with reports of these drugs and yet nothing is being done. Where can we get some answers?

Hey Sherry! :)

Nice to hear from you again. Yesterday I was thinking about you and wondering, how you might be doing with your pregnancy. I hope everything is fine!?

Well, the weight didn't get off yet but I'm feeling a slight change since about 2 weeks. The gaining had already stopped about 2 months ago. That's from where I everyday went up and down about 2 kg (I think it's 4 lbs). But at the moment it looks as if the weight finally starts do go down!! I didn't want to post this here, yet, because I'm not sure, if it goes on like this or if it's just a little break for me. But I'm writing down my weight every 10 days in a book since september 2005. And looking at my notices over the last few weeks it has really changed into the right direction (down!! :)). So I'm hoping and praying, that it will go on like this and perhaps in summer this year I might wear some of my "smaller" clothes again!! :)

And not to forget: As I didn't eat tons of food to go up 20 kg I now don't eat less than before or doing more exercising than before (well, I'm still not fit enough to do that and my band is doing another "carneval"-tour without me at the moment....). So I think there might finally be a proof for the fact, that this weight gain was all just hormonal!! I feel really delighted at the moment... Let's hope it will stay that way!!

Well, would be so nice to hear from you again and how you're doing. All the best and a big hug to you!!

Silke

Have been on Toprol 25 mg for almost a year, and prior to that was at 50mg for about two years, prescribed for fast heart rate/benign palpitations and also for boderline high BP. Worked fine for BP and palpitations, but six months ago, BP went high again, so now on Diovan low dose and still Toprol 25 mg. Anyway, Diovan has fixed the BP. The most major side effect with TOPROL I believe is the cause for my shortness of breath. I have now began weaning myself off of the Toprol (with ok from Cardiologist) and hope to see an improvement with the SOB....it's been terrible. I get short of breath just talking on the phone, and I do not smoke. I'm hopeful that the symptoms will improve one my body is clear of the Toprol. Anybody else experience SOB from Toprol?

Ok everyone. I need some advice desperately......
I'm at my wits end. Someone please help me....
I've posted numerous times already about the terrible weight gain/bloating since getting off yasmin. I was 4 months on it and now am 3 1/2 months off it. No recurring period naturally. Went on provera to induce menstruation. Has anyone out there who experienced this ever went back to normal. I mean lost all that weight/cellulite that seems to have cropped up all over my body? I used to be rail thin and now I look like a blob. I'm in total depression over this and more over the fact that this will stay permanently since NOTHING SEEM TO HELP AND IT'S NOT EASING UP........
So if anyone who has experienced this can give me some advice and hope I'd appreciate that immensly.

Hugs-Sherry

I originally posted comments in July, 2005. Since then, I still have most of the side effects I listed. Advair IS NOT helping!!! Trouble sleeping, extreme fatigue, pain in both legs (from thigh to foot), eczema on both hands, can't concentrate, depression/mood swings (I am currently taking 0.5 of clonazepam for anxiety, 1/2 in am 1/2 in PM). So I really don't need the added stress/anxiety of these side effects. The list goes on, but you all know these too well! The only positive I can say is that I haven't gained any weight - it's just the opposite - I don't have an appetite at all! I've only been on the Advair since June and the doctor prescribed 100/50 2x a day. Since I don't have health insurance nor prescrition coverage (and the fact that this crap is not working for me), I only use it 1x every other day. I will be making another appointment to see the doctor soon, because I can't stand this stuff. I have to be very selective on the doctors I see and for what ails me (because of the no health inusrance issue). I was on Flovent and Albuterol for over a year until he switched me. My PCP thinks it's all in my head, nice guy, but terrible bed-side manner. (He's the one that prescribed the clonazepam - been on it for 2 years); went to the ER a few years ago before finally being diagnosed with asthma. I even went to see a psychiatrist! I truly believe I had the astham then, but it went unnoticed. Now I have all these weird side effects - some are new since taking Advair and it doesn't quite register at first, then I blame it on the Advair. I read some comments that it has worked for some people and that's great. But I am not one of the lucky ones. I will go from doctor to doctor, new meds to new meds, etc. until I feel like my old self again. It can't always be like this. Does anyone know of any natural remedies out there? My email is ******. Thanks!

Thank you for the support. My Regular Dr. and I talked last month and just thought we would give getting off yasmin a chance. I went to see my Dr yesterday. I took some of the responces from this site to him. He was shocked, asked to keep them and was going to have all of his nurses read them as well. He was so glad that getting of the medication helped. I even got a woo whoo out of him. I think he was at his witts end. He was not the one that perscribed Yasmin to me. That was my gyno. I did see her during all of this and told her what my Doc had me on and his ideas. She never once said anything about yasmin. I think that I am going to send some of what I have found here. As well as the website. If she doesn't know about these side effects she needs to. And if she does then I may be finding a new gyno! I know for a fact that this was not a pre-existing condition. I just erge everyone to listen to your body and if you feel these symptoms keep in mind that it may be the yasmin. I know that medications effect everyone differently, I just find it odd that there are so many of us here with the same problems!!! My Dr did also!

I can tell you for a fact that this drug does effect people in a horrible way! My daughter who is 3 years old started taking it 8 days ago and as off day 2 she started to get super agitated, angry, whinny and sad! As most of you have said she used to be happy and loving all the time. She also is now scared at night and we used to just say bed time and she would go, now it is a fight. After our bedtime fight last night I started to wonder what has changed then I got to thinking about Singulair the only difference in her day to day life, so I decided to go online and check. I starting reading on several sites and they all are the same. I also starting taking singulair 3 years ago right after the birth of my first child. My hips always hurt I am always cranky I can't lose the weight from that pregnancy or my next pregnancy. I have been caulking it up to lack of sleep with the babies. Now, I just know for sure that it is this Drug. I am scared to stop it, I will be calling my Dr monday to find out what is the safest way to stop and I will be telling everyone I know to stop or never use this drug. This is so scary!!!!

It is 3:19am and I am posting to a forum about my birth control pill!? I think that has to be a side effect! I have read these posts about those of you who have been on this Pill for years and wonder how you have survived!!! I am on day 6 and feel like I could die. I have never had a cramp a day in my life, kidney stones felt better than the cramping I am having. I get sporatic shooting pains through my thighs, my ankles are swelling (and I'm on prescription water pill), I have lost 20 lbs in 2 months from dieting, I have lost an additional 4lbs in 5 days because I can not stay out of the bathroom. I feel like I can't lead a normal life because I have to have a restroom nearby, I never know when I will have to vomit or have diahrea. My 5 yr old daughter had 14 inches of hair cut off Monday and I couldn't even drive her the 2 miles to my sister's house to show her because I was so nauseous!
With each night my sleep has become shorter and shorter and replaced with restlessness! I am 34 yrs old and my tubes are tied, I am on the pill because I have 3 cysts on my right ovary. My Ob wants me to stop ovulating to ease the pain from the cysts, I would much rather go back to that pain rather than experience this! Heck yank the parts out, I don't need them! I was going to give this pill a month, then I said oh ok, I'll give it a week and maybe I'll adjust....I will be calling the Dr in the morning! I took a different pill 17 yrs ago and had no problems, I originally chalked these side effects up to the fact that this is a whole lifetime later. I am so thankful that so many of you have posted so I know it's not my age or my body adjusting!
