Well day 5 off the meds......the Withdrawl the first few days wasn't easy a lot of sweating...errability etc but it seems to have leveled off and all side effects have lessened the reason why they haven't completely gone is because I am still taking have a pill a day which is 80mg instead of the full 160mg.....really scary part is pressure was actually lower with the lower dose.......its about 140 over 90 which for me is good and that was in the morning when pressure is usually the highest in people....for all I know I could be even lower later in the day
I am also starting day 1 of exercise I am hoping this will bring the pressure into normal ranges especially the bottom number 90 is too high still ..overall though I feel better today.......we will see :) hopefully I will not have to go back on these scary hypertension meds !

Dear kim!!

I feel so much with you, let me send you a big hug over the internet!!

I know how it feels, when doctor's keep telling you "it's all you and not the pill", I've heard that so many times.... But what could be a better proof for the horrible effects of that pill than thousands of women, who know it better???

And I also went through those "ups and downs", one day thinking "hey, I feel better today, I think it will all be ok soon" and the other day hit by a truck thinking "OMG everything starts again". What helped for me is writing down everything in a diary. I've done that since August 2005, just to see, WHEN those ups and downs are happening. Perhaps that might help some of you, too!?? It helps to discover, if there is a correlation between your cycle and your upcoming problems!! In my case I always got worse around ovulation and when my period should start (well, didn't have one for about 1,5 years after stopping Yasmin, until August 2006!!).

I completely understand your problems with your job. I hadn't been able to work, too, but thanks god my boss was very patient and gave me all the time I needed, although I think for him it also was not easy to understand, what is going on. You can't really say "Well, I'm ill, and I have ........" There's simply no name for our illness. And that's what sounds so strange to other people. You can't say "I have a broken leg" or "I have a flu" or something else....

Someday I started calling it "hormonal problems" to everyone who asked me about my illness. And I think that's how it's explained best.

Well, you also told you had tried some progesterone without any help. How long have you been off Yasmin now? After reading hundreds of posts here and in other forums I found out, that it might not be good to interact your hormones again too shortly after getting off Yasmin.

Your body definitely needs time to get its own balance back and I think it might not be good to interact again with something hormonal. I know this needs so much patience but please remember: It's worth it!!

And I'm so sure, that you're daughter one day will get back her mum, just as she was before that nightmare!!!

Keep on posting Kim and everyone. I think that's the only thing that might help!!!

Big hugs to you all and best wishes
Silke

Been on Lipitor for a little over one month. Feel very lethargic and wiped out. Not sleeping/odd dreams. Very tired upon waking. Pain in my back, went to urgent treatment center..blood pressure was 202/98 and had an abnormal EKG. Taken by ambulance to ER. Developed stomach pain that will not go away, acid reflux/indigestion, leg pain, flatulence, pain in my chest and a feeling that something is sitting in my chest, vaginal bleeding since October 22, dry mouth, sweating, joint pain and swelling. I was given birthcontrol pills to try to stop the flow. Hasn't worked yet. I took lthe last pill I had 2 days ago and feel better today than I have felt in a long time. I looked up the side effects of Lipitor and discovered that what I am experienceing seems to be directly as a result of this medicine which is the only new thing that I have added to my routine.

The doctor at the university gave me this for my sinus infection. Thank God it was only a five day prescription. I'm on the last day as we speak. I ran into this site while searching for side effects. My symptoms have not been as severe as others. Headache, fatigue, stomach ache, and an uncontrollable appetite. I'm drinking water but not that much. Only around 40-60 ounces a day which is obviously not enough. I've been staying up very late at night. Bedtime is around 4-5 in the morning. Last night I noticed redness on my gums. When I brushed my teeth and used mouthwash it burnt like all hell. My gums feel better today. It hasn't been fun but I will say the medicine did its job. I don't feel the "rock" in my throat anymore thats for sure. Which is well worth the price concerning the side effects.

To guest 13095
Don't worry about something else being wrong for now, the side effects and withdrawal are awful no matter how long or how much u take of pred. Hang in there. I've been off of pred. since June 10 and I was on it for 4 yrs. I'm having a horrible time with withdrawal. Be very thankful u were not on it very long. As with gypsi and others, the self-esteem seems to disappear when pred. comes into our lives. The weight gain, insomnia, moodiness, sweating, aching, fever, hand tremors, etc. All r a part of side effects and withdrawal. My blood pressure is going crazy, high and low. Does anyone have any advice on this? Take one day at a time and know u will get better. It does take some time to get over this, I have a long way to go and today I feel like going to the hospital, but, I know after while I will feel different. Check on some posts from jules777. I'm not sure about all the "natural" ways but what have we got to lose? I'll try anything right now to feel better. Today is miserable. Keep me in your prayers out there. Thanx, I appreciate it lots. I'm in a mess. For 3 months now I've been really ill and it doesn't get really better though I was visiting doctor after doctor (no one found anything wrong).

Anybody here suffering from these terrible side effects under Yasmin (please e-mail or answer me):

- dizziness, feeling dazed
- muscle fatigue
- weakness, fatigue
- nausea
- racing heart
- panic attacks / anxiety
- headaches from time to time
- light stools
- extreme tiredness (pass out tiredness),
could barely wake up after taking a nap
- feeling faint and lightheaded

What I've been going through for the last months ist not really worth to be called "life". I can't go to work and even can't do anything in my house. I'm really desperated and searching for people, who perhaps have gone through the same or similar and feel better today after getting off of this pill.

I quit taking Yasmin two weeks ago but don't feel really much better, yet. How long may it take me to get better??

Please help!! Thanks!!

All -- stop taking YASMIN now if you have any of these symptoms- I wrote in a few days ago with all the same complaints. I went off the pill 3 days ago. Within 24 hours my personality was back to normal. I was no longer depressed or angry, just normal! My physical symptoms are now starting to subside. No new acne has erupted at all and my cysts are healing. My water weight is 70% gone and the tingling in my legs, foot cramps, migraines, and chest pains, and acid reflux and nightly vomiting are all gone. I am so relieved! IT IS THE PILL! GET OFF OF IT AND YOU WILL FEEL BETTER TODAY! I WORRY ABOUT THIS PILL --- IS IS LIKE POISON TO SOME OF US! Good luck to everyone and god bless...
