I do not know who you people are, but I feel like I have stumbled onto some help. Please tell me this is not a joke....I am on Doxycline for three days now to treat a sub-clinical suspected infection. I started to feel noticeably flat yesterday, (day two) almost like I was missing a range of emotion. I feel as if someone drugged me wtih some kind of downer. I woke up feeling ok this AM, but have felt worse and worse as the day has gone on. I am in good shape, I am generally an upbeat person, but I feel so profoundly sad, listless, confused, and tired. It as if I am living in a fog, and that every thing requires serious effort. The good news is that I am only on this medication for ten days, I cannot imagine having to take it for longer. Had a little heartburn last evening, but nothing serious. Good luck to all,

Marc Astoria, NY

hi everybody,
sitting here reading all your posts feeling really crappy.
Off yasmin now for about 8 months and trying to take it one day at a time.

I should be at my works christmas party tonight but am feeling so bad this weekend i pulled out. Cant moan to my husband as he is already annoyed at me for not going tonight.
we were really looking forward to it but i just couldnt face it. I work with such a good bunch of people and i know they will be disappointed i didnt go tonight.

regular posters will know my story. Was on yasmin for 4 very long years. Caused me huge problems, like anxiety, eyesight problems and many more. Eventually saw a very good fertility doctor who tested my hormone levels.

I started my course of hcg injections last sunday for low hormone levels.

For anybody who might know what is normal, mine were estradiol 257 and progesterone 37. Day 3 levels were normal which at least mean that i am not having an early menopause.

My fertility doctor said they are extremely low so prescribed me hcg injections. Have a friend who is a nurse so she showed me how to do the injections myself.

Have 4 injections every second day in the last week of my cycle. Does anybody know if they could make me feel so bad. I felt fine up until yesterday morning. Woke up feeling very anxious and down as well as feeling terribly irritable.

I seem to have lost so much weight in the last few weeks. None of my clothes fit me anymore. went to look for something to wear and even size 8 is too big. Are they making clothes bigger or have i really lost that much weight.

Is there anybody here who knows anything about hcg injections and their side effects. My doctor told me i would have no side effects.

I have so much anxiety again. I was feeling ok but feel like i am back to square one, like i am on yasmin again.
Could this be to do with the hcg.

I am sorry if this post is really depressing but i feel this is the only place i can really talk to people.
I would really appreciate any ideas. Hopefully when i get up in the morning i will feel better as i dont think i can go back to this again.
Thanks everyone

I have been reading a lot about some of the side-effects of coming off paxil. My girlfriend is attempting to do the same right now. Her withdrawal seems to be in line with some of the worse descriptions that I find on the net, and she is starting to question her ability to successfully come off the drug. I support her either way - on or off - but she really wants to come off for at least long enough to evaluate if she actually needs it any more (she has been on it for 7+ years).

She has had dizziness, nausea, and reported "shocks inside her brain" for the past 3 weeks while reducing her dose. Last weekend we went away, and she forgot her medication. In the past, we would have resolved the situation, but since she is in the process of reducing her dose (she went from 30->20->10) and was feeling OK, she decided to go from 10->0. At the end of 3 days, she is crashing hard!! Very distraught, emotional, slurred speach. Really having a rough time. She has gone back to 5 mg, which seems to have helped the physical symptoms a bit, but that is only 1 day after being off for 3. We will see... the emotional/self-questioning is the toughest part right now.

I think it would be good if I could pass along a "success" story... so many people have shared their problems online, which goes a long ways toward her feeling like she is not "going crazy". However, most people don't follow through when they get through it. I think she needs to hear that it is not all just trouble, and that there is an end to it (if, in fact, there is).

Just for the record... her doctor told her that she would be fine to reduce her dose to 0 over the course of 7 days... it was her own research that lead to her decision to try to do it over the course of 30 days instead. I can't imagine how she would have gotten through it if she had been so naive as to have followed his instructions!

Thanks for sharing...

I'm taking this for bells palsy. I guess this is rare, but my major side effect is ABSOLUTE fatigue! Has anyone else encountered this? I know it's supposed to give you the jitters, but it does the opposite for me. I've been on 60mg/day for four days, and I've tried taking them together, or spacing them apart (w/ the ok of my doc) but the formula is basically the same -- for every 20 mg pill I am PASSED OUT for at least an hour, so for multiple doses it's hours at a time. And not a nice sleep either. When I wake up I have moments of feeling ok but the fatigue always comes back. This is crazy! Also, I've lost my appetite, not gained any. (Although that might be the result of anti-viral medicine from shingles I'm just finishing...)

I can't wait to be tapered off this drug!

My son was given this stuff for congestion. He was feeling ok on Friday and started this med Friday night. Saturday evening the side affects kicked in and include depression, anxiety, dizziness, vomiting, severe headaches, intolerance to light, difficulty urinating, no appetite, sleeplessness, nervousness. Monday morning coughing up and vomiting blood. Great Stuff!
