I forgot too add a few side effects:
memory issues (obviously), terrible night sweats, nausea (though not vomiting) and a constant kind of angry feeling to the point of not being able to even look at my fiancee (which is so unfair, because he's so supportive) and lack of patience with my baby which is scaring me.
Also restless legs and feeling tired all the time with out being able to sleep,
constantly hungry but I get bored of the flavours very quickly.

My girlfriend has been taking Quasense for 6 weeks now. She went on it because her period was all whacked out. The first couple of days I noticed the Extreme Mood swings, and Severe Nausea in the morning. The Nausea went away after a week or so. She complained of being dizzy is uncomfortable with the acne she is getting and weight she has gained. She is getting depressed and feeling tired all the time. We are busy people always doing something, But she just doesn't have the energy anymore. As the weeks went by her moods are getting worse and she is having extreme stomach cramps and began spotting. Which shouldn't be happening for another two months. This Pill sucks. I'm tired of seeing her in so much discomfort.

I have been taking Singulair for runny nose due to allergies. I never associated things I was experiencing with this drug as my MD said there were no side effects, I have experienced weird vivid dreams, depression, hair loss, leg cramps, feeling tired all the time. Singulair has not helped my runny nose. I can't believe how many infants and children take this drug.

I had Mirena inserted in January 07 and for the first few months things were ok. I came across this site about 6 weeks ago after I'd been experiencing cramps, lower back pain and constant bloating for about 2 months. After reading other womens' symptoms I recognized a few I was feeling myself, such as feeling tired all the time and aching joints, extremely painful breasts, also I lost interest in the most basic everyday things. I have gained 15-20lbs in the last 18 months and nothing I did would shift it. Well I decided to have it removed and it was taken out a couple of days ago. It's a good job I have a strong personality as the doctor did his best to convince me I was making a mistake (I had it inserted to help with painful periods) and basically said on your head be it. I'd rather have a painful few days each month than all the symptoms I had all the time. Well I am now having a really heavy period, with pains to match, which I'm hoping will calm soon. I must admit I'm not feeling very different but I feel better in the knowledge I have control over my own body instead of that little plastic contraption. If I gain or lose weight, it's down to my own actions. I'll post again in a couple of weeks to let you know how it's going. All I can say is that it's your body and the decisions are ultimately yours, don't let doctors bully you and you should go ahead and take control. Best of luck to anyone who is thinking of having it removed.

Hi, I just got the Mirena back in April and I have had nothing but problems from the get go. First they had trouble inserting the Mirena so instead of 5 minutes it took more like 20 minutes....by the time they got finished I started sweating really bad. I went to stand up and almost passed out. They laid me on a bed, put an ice pack behind my neck and gave me water. They checked my blood pressure and it was VERY low. 15 minutes later my blood pressure still wasn't coming back up so I was not allowed to leave. They started telling me that some people's bodies go into a form of shock and that was probably what happened and they were worried about my blood pressure not coming back up and possibly having to take me over to the emergency in order to get my blood pressure back up. Well about ten minutes later they finally get my blood pressure back up to normal so they finally let me leave their office. I get out to my vehicle and all of a sudden I feel like I am fixing to pass out again. I laid down and called a friend to come and pick me up. I kept an ice pack on the back of my neck for another 30 minutes while resting before I finally felt better again. A couple hours later came the pain. Very bad pain that lasted for the next two weeks and I am usually a person that can take pain. Finally the pain eased up after that and now I only get pain once in a while but here I am 3 months later and I am still bleeding. I feel tired all the time, I've had a lot of migraines, it is painful during sex sometimes, my sex drive has almost totally vanished and my energy level is almost at 0. I have also been experiencing stomach problems and a bloated feeling. I am EXTREMELY tired all the time. I never feel like I get a good nights sleep. I have also been experiencing hair loss but I didn't know if that was from the Mirena or not until I started reading posts on here. Now my bleeding is slowly getting worse the past few weeks. Not only am I bleeding still but now it is coming out in little clots too. Now I am getting worried so I have made an appointment to go back in. I came on here hoping I can find someone that has had the same problem so I wouldn't have to worry until the appointment. Its really disgusting and I am so sick of having this mirena in already.
Good luck to those of you that haven't already experienced these same side effects already......

I have been on Atenenol for 5 months and I have suffered from the following. I have had nausea, depression, feeling tired all the time, can't sleep at night, and sometimes my hands and feet are swollen. I didn't think it was from the atenenol, but after reading some of the other ppl's side effects I am starting to think it is caused by the meds. I am on it for hpb, and I am only 30.

I seem to be lucky, due to back accident17 years ago I have suffered with aching back at night,(I had knee ligament operated on last year and that pain is how I describe my back pain)(before op),I`ve tried co-codamols and anti-imflams to help back pain, didn`t work, physio, didn`t work but with Tramadol it eased it straight away,I do occasionally get itchy skin with it but then I always have suffered sensitive itchy skin,so I can deal with that,I also find this as a bit of a miracle drug, since suffering a virus over eleven years ago I`ve since suffered with feeling tired all the time and with no energy but again since taking ?Tramadol for my back its brought me up to a better level, It doesn't make me feel drowsy, maybe after reading other peoples experiences with Tramadol it looks like it works for some and not for others, just like all medication.
For me its a blessing.

hi. everyone. I just had Mirena put in a week ago and already experiencing the dry skin, acne, losing my hair, feeling tired all the time, i just don't feel like myself. My blood pressure went up extremely high after i had my son and they put me on a pill made bp go into stroke range so my doctor suggested this. If i would have know how painful it was just to get the thing inserted i don't know if i would have gotten it. I am now on bp medicine and it is still elevated, i am still having discharge, which my doctor said would be normal but for how long?? Sex is sure not the same. My boyfriend doesn't complain but i sure can tell a huge difference. Its not even pleasurable anymore. What is really scary is my bp. I 20 yrs old and already have to take bp meds n it still hasn't gone down to a range that i am comfortable with. I honestly cant say if i will be able to keep this merena. I will be calling my doctor for the next appt available.

I have been taking Yasmin for about 6 months now. So far, so good. I haven't noticed any side effects yet. Before taking Yasmin, I had the hormone implant Implanon for almost 3 years. During that time I had gained a lot of weight, I was really bloated. My face looked swollen and my tummy was huge that people thought I was pregnant. I also had mood swings, feeling tired all the time, occasionally having pain in my tummy and others. Since having it taken out and being on the Yasmin pill, the weight has come off and I have felt better. I hope this will last. As I read here about the side effects and when I start to have it, i'll have to look for advice again. I hope there will be a better alternative besides abstinence.....

I started NR about 2 months ago and was amazed at the ease of it.! I thought no pill to remeber how great! Without really thinking about it, me and my sons father started fighting all the time, I was so moody, my sex drive was gone, I was feeling tired all the time, and I would start crying for no reason. I just thought it was because of all the stress of having a toddler, plus being a full time respiratory student. After another one of our fights (because I didnt want sex) I started to think something isnt right. I did a search on the web and found this site. I was amazed to read comment after commen "no sex drive", "moody", "crying for no reason". So glad it was just NR and not something far worse. I just hope others arre able to find the same great info I did.

Yasmin gave me IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrom for those of you who don't know.) I was on the pill for eight months. My pre-symptoms were I had 5 yeast infections in a row, in the second and third months of taking it...this didn't ring any bells, even though I had never had a yeast infection before in my life, and my doctor just said I had a yeast imbalance. So a month after those stopped the IBS started. I was in the bathroom about 8 times a day, I thought maybe it was a flu, so i didn't go to the doc right away. I eventually gave up on that thought and went to see my doc, who even he, thought that it was IBS, so he sent me to a specialist right away. I had a colonoscopy and nothing, so the specialist told me that I needed to stop searching and just accept that I had IBS (I told him that I had been trying to figure it all out, because you literally don't wake up one day, go to the bathroom and your life changes forever, I KNEW something else was going on.) Anyways, I had a dumb specialist, he said that I had to accept this, I asked if it could possibly be my birth control and he said no and prescribed my a whole bunch of other drugs. Well I still just couldn't believe my life just all of a sudden changed, so I went to my family doc, lied, told him i was getting moody off Yasmin, and he switched me onto another. IT WORKED no more IBS, the results were immediate, it took a while for my poor damaged bowls to fix themselves, a few months actually, but now things are getting back to normal. Oh, and I've stopped birth control pills, back to condoms for me...my doc put me on Alesse, which didn't work either - moody! and then he put me on Marvelon, which inflamed my gallbladder (had to go for an ultrasound to see if i had gallstones) I figured at this rate, in two years i'd be dead from taking b/c so I was done, I would recommend the same to anyone!!

I have been on the NuvaRing for 3 months now, today is the end of my 3rd week so I have taken it out. Thank God for it being my 3rd week!! I thought that I was pregnant for about 2 weeks until I decided to look into the NR side effects, I am so grateful for this website!!! Thanks to all the ladies who posted their experiences and sorry for the crazy side effects... I have been experiencing severe back pains, chest discomfort, headaches all the time, AND MAJOR MOOD SWINGS (CRYING, DEPRESSION, FEELING TIRED ALL THE TIME (LIKE NOW)), blurred vision, nausea, and stomach pains in my side.. If any ladies have went to the doctor for this and found a better birth control, other than the pill or the shot, I would love to know what you decided to do, and if your sypthoms went away when your period came on? Thanks

I am so glad to read all of this information. I am a 40 year old female. I have suffered 2 PEs. I have varied from being on 10 mg of warfarin to 25 mg a day. This is the first time I got to go 1 month between INR checks. I'm on 11 mg/day with INR of 2.1. I am having SEVERE recurrent headaches, sleepless nights, feeling tired all the time, and problems with my memory. Drs tell me they don't know what this is from and there are no side effects to warfarin. I have a vena cava filter in and I'm on the medicine for the rest of my life. Glad to hear I'm not losing my mind (just having horrible side effects regardless of what the doctors say!)

I was taking risperidal and it worked great, but the weight gain and glucose intolerance were enough for me to get off of it. The psychiatrist recommended that I try Geodon. I started at 40 mg (along with Wellbutrin XL). I was still experiencing symptoms of auditory hallucinations and still was feeling irritable. He increased my dosage to 80 mg. It feels like I am emotionally better. However, now I am feeling tired all the time, my blood sugar keeps geeting low, I have had indigestion, and my vision seems to be getting worse. I saw another doctor who thinks my symptoms are related to my medications.

If you scroll down a ways you'll see entries by Leah. Leah is my sister. She had terrible problems with Yasmin and I have too!
I was on Yasmin for just over 3 years, I stopped taking it this month becase Leah and all of you convinced me that I wasn't really a sickly & emotional mess... it was Yasmin's fault!
Over the past 3 years I've been suffering from the following side effects I now believe are directly related to Yasmin:
Clouded Thinking/Poor Attention Span
Depression (I've been on 2 anti-depressants for almost 3 yrs)
Anxiety (I've been on an anti-anxiety medication)
Violent Mood Swings
Night Sweats
Daily Headaches
Feeling tired all the time
Poor Circulation
Shortness of Breath
Leg Cramps at night that wake me up
Cronic Muscular Pain in my back
NO sex drive
It's been almost 2 weeks since I stopped taking Yasmin. Already my thinking is clearer, I have more energy, less headaches and the sex drive of a teenager! From what I've read here it sounds like things will continue to improve in the next few months. I'll keep you updated. Thanks everyone!

I'm a 19 year old college student and a I've been on Yasmin for about 3 years. I started the pill because after two major surgeries, my body was traumatized, leaving me with very heavy periods and feeling tired all the time. I started Yasmin and at first, was very happy with it. I didn't lose weight on it, but I didn't gain any weight, either, which is what happened when I tried taking other birth control pills. However, after my senior year, I went off to college, where the problems began. It seemed that anytime I was under stress, my anxiety and bad mood would amplify. I got mad at my boyfriend over small things to the point of wanting to break up with him. Thank goodness he was patient with me! I began having panic attacks and although I was living in horrible conditions at school, I just chalked it up to not being ready to move off, etc. I came home the next semester and had the same problems. Anytime my boyfriend and I get into an argument, I can feel myself get heated up and I become uncontrollably angry. I hate myself when this happens. I have also been very tired. Some mornings, I can't stay awake in class and since I've been on the pill, I have felt the need to take naps way more often than usual. I plan to stop taking this pill as soon as my month is up!
