Mirena is a horrible thing to have inserted inside of your precious uterus! I just had it removed today after 6 months, and I am so much better just in the first few hours! I have to say the constant fatigue hasn't even budged, I am hoping I feel better soon. I constantly had pain in my lower abdomen ever since it was put in. I kept calling the doctor and they said that it would go away, and it did for short periods, then it would return! God forbid I have sex because I would be sitting there in pain for the whole night and next morning, more then normal. I actually got used to the constant pain I was having so to the point that I feel like I just was given a new uterus! I have been eating so healthy lately and my weight hasn't even budged, which I thought was from my body changing after having a baby! I am so happy to find out that isn't true! I am only 22 and I don't deserve to be in pain every *** day!!! I can't tell you how bad I think the Mirena was for my body and I won't be surprised if there is a class action law suit coming soon! I only hope it didn't puncture something! It sure felt like it. When I went to the doctor she tried telling me that the pain was me ovulating!!! HELLO I have a child!!! I have ovulated and it didn't hurt like this!!! Also when I first had it inserted I almost lost my milk for my 2 mo. old!!! I worked and worked to keep it---heads up! IF YOU FEEL LIKE THIS FOREIGN THING IN YOUR BODY HURTS AND IT SHOULDN'T BE THERE, REMOVE IT SOMETHING IS PROBABLY WRONG!!! DON'T LET YOUR DR TELL YOU IT'S NORMAL! 6 MOS LATER AND MY PAIN DIDN'T GO AWAY!

I was recently put on Yasmin, I've just finished up my first pack. Some of my friends told me to read the blogs on it cause it's not all that it's cracked up to be. I was originally put on it due to PMDD. I get hellacious PMS and i was told that this pill can help. I also take antidepressants to treat mild depression, so the low/single dose hormone is essential for me. Throughout the past month I've had two migraine headaches which is unusual. I do get headaches but not like these. I can't even open my eyes, eat, or have any noise or light around. It's really awful. I do have the dizzy spells and some gnarly pain in my lower abdomen and in between my shoulder blades. It feels like cramps but I'm not having a period yet. I'm hoping these side effects will go away as my body adjusts but frankly, from these blogs I'm really leery to keep taking this pill. Any recommendations for a girl who needs a monophasic pill and need extra help staying sane during PMS? Any news helps. Thanks and best of luck to us all.

Nuvaring has worked in preventing me from getting pregnant a second time. But what I believe I got from using the Nuvaring is Gall Bladder Disease. There are 2 types of gall bladder disease and I have one of them. I have stones in my gallbladder. And because of that I have to have surgery to get my gallbladder removed. I found that out myself after doctors told me I have stones in my gallbladder. The doctors did not tell me that it was caused from using the Nuvaring. I decided to read up on the Nuvaring after I found out I had to get surgery. One of the side affects of Nuvaring is gallbladder disease. Now I know where I got it from. When it was too late. No one wants to have their gallbladder removed or even think about having to get surgery.

I have been experiencing problems with the NuvaRing as well. After having my first ring in for just shy of two weeks, my hands and feet started itching a LOT. I just thought it was the change in weather and started lathering them with lotion thinking it would help. It didn't, and in fact, my symptoms worsened to hives on my butt, knees, and hands. My fingers swelled, along with my toes, making it painful to walk. I started researching side effects of NR and found several people having similar symptoms as me. At first I was worried that I was having an allergic reaction to the Gardasil (HPV) shot, which I got on Monday (the 15th), but my skin was starting to itch prior to my shot. After reading up on the NR, I'm starting to think that is what's causing my hives/welts and swelling! I already called my doctor about the swelling, because I thought it was from the Gardasil, but now that I'm almost certain that it's from the NR, I'm going to call them on Monday and tell them I need to stop using it. This is the 5th birth control I've been on in two years...it's getting ridiculous! They can't find one that works for me...the oral pills work for a month or two, and then I start breakthrough bleeding because the hormone levels are too low! I'm starting to think that my body rejects birth control, and that it's not for me! Is this possible?!

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for replying. I can't believe how badly I screwed up my body with ths stupid drug. Hopefully things will improve now I'm just past the three month mark off it.

Although I take my Levothyroxine daily, I'm not allowed to take supplementary female hormones ever again because of the stroke, so I doubt it's worth me getting my levels tested. But my research did suggest it's an estrogen/progesterone imbalance that causes the shakiness/dizziness.

Hang in there everyone, and let's hope 2007 is a better year for all.

Anna

Results are in....
all normal beside my iron is low....
doctor thinks the natural tablets that help regulate female hormones may have masked the progesterone levels (at least he believes me.....lol) but its reassuring to know that sugars, thyroid, etc are ok.
blood pressure still 130/90 still telling me i need to lose weight (i am on low gi diet at the minute) and trying as hard as i can i put on 15kg on yasmin and now weigh 90kg so understand blood pressure rises with weight but hey i see some larger than that ladies with no blood pressure issues so i know this is a definate yasmin legacy .and considering i had normal blood perssure on yasmin in the beginning and its only rises its largest when i was off it.
Question for ny ladies that gained weight with yasmin , did the blood pressure decrease naturally or did u lose weght and it decreased.

thanks in advance
Lisa
