I've been searching for answers on LONG TERM side effects of Lupron hoping that it could give me answers as to what's going on in my body now!
23 yrs ago my fertility dr. gave me Lupron to inject MYSELF EVERY DAY (experimental back then). I had SEVERE endo since the age of 16 and was fighting that as well as trying to get pregnant thru invetro. I was 26. At 29 I had an emergency hysto. Now at 48plus I have chronic tendonitis where the tendons will shred off of the joints. I have been diagnosed with C spine and T spine disease, osteoarthritis and a mystery that I'm going to have to go to the Mayo to figure out (hopefully). I have tumors that are growing in my lower back...growing around nerves, tendons and bone, They aren't sure why they are there, why they are growing, or even what they are. Surgery removed 2 of them...but pathology shows foreign matter other than tissue/bone. All they DO know is that it is not cancer. One year ago I started losing weight (25 pds) for no reason. I'm now holding my own at 112 and hoping to figure all of this out. I can't help but wonder if Lupron or any other experimental drugs I was on has something to do with this. Is there anyone out there that used this drug so long ago??

I have been on Femara for 2 1/2 years. Have been troubled with vaginal dryness and urinary tract infections. Does any one else have these problems?

Oh yeah! Where are you weight gainers gaining most of your weight. I never had a stomach and I have gained 3 inches over the last 8 months around my waist. NOT worth it.

Vomiting, lots of pain on right rib, and muscle weakness, same joint pain as with arimidex or worst and I just started taking it!!!!!! Does it get worst or better after a while? I am fed up with these meds......... Whats the real outcome 3% or 4 % for survival and recurrence? Anybody knows?
Good luck to all of us. We need it!

My joints all over my body are painful. I don not know if it is a side effect of lithium because I take other medications. The drugs include femara, niravam, cymbalta, famvir, calcium 1000 mg., a multivitamin capsule, glucousimine, echinacea. please give me some advise as to why I get veryt painful joints and the back of my neck pops constantly throughout the day.

I was prescribed Levaquin,by a dermatologist, 500MG for 10 days for a skin infection. I began to have severe muscle/tendon pain within a few days. I took it for 9 days. I stopped taking it 8 days ago, and still have severe arm pain. I feel like I've been doing more than 100 pull-ups. I find it difficult to carry a bag, as it adds to the pain. I've tried Naproxen, but it doesn't seem to help. The pain is worse earlier in the day. I talked to my primary Dr. 2 days ago. He thinks it is from the leaquin in combination with Crestor", a cholesterol lowing drug I take. I also take Femara and effexor. I'm wondering ifanyone has had drug interaction problems when taking levaquin, or if this pain is just from the one drug.I am also experiencing unusual (for me) fatigue, and wonder if this is related to Levaquin also.

I was on Aromasin for fifteen days and developed dry eye syndrome. I could cope with this if it was confined to having a gritty feeling in the eyes, but I also have bad visual distortions and have gone from having 20/20 vision to not being able to drive. I saw an opthalmologist immediately who recommended eye drops, flax seed oil pills, warm compresses, etc.. I had been using all but the flax seed oil prior to his diagnosis, and so far have only had a little improvement in visual acuity (after not taking Aromasin for two weeks). I was on Tamoxifen for almost ten months, and then Femara for one month. I had severe musculoskeletal pain with the Femara and took a med. break of almost two weeks before trying the Aromasin. Thanks for listening--Dorothy

Started on Fosamax when I started Femara in Nov 2004. I did notice increased body stiffness but did not atribute to either drug. About two months ago I developed trigger finger on my right thumb and attributed it to mild lymphadema following flying without my jobst sleeve. However, that thumb is now fenlarged, frozen, and very painful and I have developed pain and triggering in the left thumb, middle finger and right toe. I know my oncologist and primary med physicians are going to be reluctant to attribute to Fosamax. They have the same information we have.

I just received my second shot for Lupron. I took my first shot three months ago and had very mild side effects. I have some hot flashes, back pain, occasional migraine, and food cravings, but overall I feel better. (I have metastatic breast cancer that has spread to bone, which is why I'm taking Lupron, along with Femara and Zometa).
I also continue to take excellent care of myself (which I have for years), including working at a job I love, taking daily long walks, some yoga, very clean diet, acupuncture, homeopathy, and supplements. Taking 200 mg of alpha lipoic acid with meals and eating many snacks throughout the day seems to help with the migraines as this evens out my blood sugar.
Overall I'm pleased with the drug and all my doctors agree that I'm doing extremely well and, amazing as it seems, after quite an ordeal, getting well.

I, too have had the same finger joint problems as the ctober 25th guest. I am taking Femara aromitase-inhibitor as well as Zometa, so the joint problems could be attributed to either. I'm quite sure that this problem is due to either medication, as I never had anything like this before. I'm continuing to take both medications, and intend to add Celebrex to treat the joint symptoms.

ok, so I am 28yrs old just had my second lap for endo and my doctor has recommended lupron, after reading this I am soooooooooo scared to even get near this med. Its like you either take this with the hope of saving fertility and no pain..or not and have endo ravage your body and you will live with unbearable pain!!! I have no idea what to do, my post-op surgery appt is this week, and i am so scared after reading this. Is there anyone that did not have weight gain, headaches etc...anyone that can testify that lupron actually worked for them? Cause right now its my health on the line, my ability to have children, my ability to have a normal life free of endo pain or these crazy, horrible side effects...please help me!!!
