First off, I want to thank everyone who has posted on this site. My heart goes out to all of the mothers/fathers who feel lied to by their physician, and to all of the young ladies, like myself, who chose to take this shot in order to protect myself and my partners. I have had two shots and WILL NOT receive my third.
I am a healthy 24-year-old woman who started my GARDASIL shots February 08'. The first shot, no problem. Second shot, wow. I felt like I was literally going to break. All of my joints, muscles hurt and felt very, very weak. I went to bed with a 102 fever, huge swollen glands, sore throat and cold sweats. I called my doctor and she said I "probably had the flu before I got the shot and I was just feeling my illness now.." she dubbed my issue an "coincidence". Well, I believed her because I wanted to. I didn't want to think I put myself in harms way, so I went on.
Well it's been 7 months and I can tell you my memory loss, muscle pain and bouts of depression have been a big issue. These are all things I have never dealt with in the past. Could it be GARDASIL, I'm not 100% sold that it is, but I am not throwing that idea out either.
I am really starting to struggle with the idea that we don't know the long term side effects yet.
Looks like we are all Lab Rats.
In seek of the truth,
L.

Get off this nasty drug. It has the most horrible side effects. Is there a lawsuit against this drug. If so I need to follow-up.I had,:
THROAT SWELLING AND LIPS SWELLING
EXTREMELY DRY ITCHY THROAT.
DRY HACKING HEAVY COUGHING CONSTANTLY(could not get sleep)
ENDED IN ACUTE TONSILLITIS WITH FEVER
after getting of the drug I had no more problems with coughing or respiratory infections.these side effects are common with this drug. Yet the docs are pushing it. What are the pharma companies giving thes doctors??I no longer trust doctors.

I had a terrible cough.Constant and very dry and hacking. Making sleeping impossible. Working impossible. My life was turned to mush. The coughs were very heavy and causing my throat to swell and feel extremely dry no matter how much I drank.I developed acute tonsillitis. I needed antibiotics to clear up.I have a fever and was sicker than I can ever remember.I called the doctor and told her I never had any of the coughing until taking this med.then I read it is common. Why in the ---- would any doctor prescribe such a horrible drug.??
I have never had a heart attack and only had slight blood pressure issues. Sometimes it gets a bit high. Not often. Doctors are drug pushers for the pharma companies.I have no respect left for this doctor. And will never go back.

Hi All,
In addition to what I wrote earlier if you do have a history of hypokalemia (low K+ or potassium) that is very serious for that electrolyte controls cardiac and renal function. However, it is quite simple while you are on this antibiotic to increase K+ rich foods such as bananas, baked potato, OJ, whole milk, avocado (which has more K+ than 5 bananas) and do so judiciously during your therapy for infection.
It is also significant to alert anyone that infection (bacterial) causes some fairly significant physiologic issues from fever, to myalgia, vomiting and loss of fluids, and organ impairment. This antibiotic like Ciprofloxacin has a huge ability to permeate bone infection and non circulatory areas that most antibiotics never reach. It is important to understand that if you are feeling that ill to require that antibiotic you may not be getting around to feeling "normal" until you are past taking the medication, follow up with your provider and rid yourself of the infection.
When you end an antibiotic early or play games with such a drug you can rebound to a super infection that is not treatable by the same antibiotic or even anything more powerful and after this drug you are talking IV antibiotics in a hospital setting.
I would strongly suggest if you are handling secondary side effects then continue onward for the result of an infection out of control is anything but desirable.
I do run low on K+ either and find that Cipro is more K+ wasting then Levaquin. I also am on the smallest dosage (250 mg. QD) and having a positive result but yes, the lovely side effects. In another few days though when done those will be gone and I might feel 100% human again.

I am a professional nurse with extreme allergies; however, please for you own benefit consult your physician but do not stop taking it unless he or she states adverse or of course, you have some reaction requiring emergency medical assistance (911).
Yes I am dizzy, weak, very nauseated (and with my emaciated body frame due to other health issues cannot afford to not eat), and the first 2 days of therapy got a whopper headache. However, I had a UTI that likely moved into the kidneys and also look to have stones and after 8 days am passing urine properly and not up every hour not passing urine; hence it is killing an infection that might kill me.
Early on with this drug we did prescribe higher dosages then perhaps necessary they have now cut back quantity and instead of doing BID dosing do QD dosing. You might require a lower dosage at my body weight they prescribed only 250 mg. a day and this has given me some side effects but is treating an infection that could be fatal...

My 9 1/2 yr old son started Singulair in July 2004 when he was 5 yrs old.Looking back now we realize that he started showing signs immediately. We only gave him Singulair in the fall when he had the most trouble with his asthma. His asthma was under control immediately but was not worth the damage that was done. He complained of pains in his legs that I just thought was growing pains. He would sometimes run a fever with no other symptoms of being sick and then the fever would go away. He would also feel like he always had to go to the bathroom, especially after he went to bed. I gave him Singulair at 7pm before he went to bed. The biggest change we noticed in him was the signs of attention deficit. We first noticed that he kept getting out of his seat at dinner time. No matter how many times we told him to sit down he would sit down and then a little while later he would get right back up. We realized after a while that he wasn't doing it to be defient he just couldn't help himself. I asked his Kindergarten teacher if he had trouble sitting in his seat or with attention but she didn't think he was any worse than any of the other Kindergarten kids. In 1st grade, at the beginning of the year, his teacher said he had trouble keeping his attention but then by January she said he was a different kid. We usually stopped giving him Singulair in December. The same thing happened with his 2nd grade teacher. I question his allergist in the fall of 2nd grade but his allergist said Singulair wasn't the cause for his ADHD symptoms. When his 3rd grade teacher contacted us in Oct 07 with the same complaints I realized that it must be the Singulair. I looked online for Singulair side effects and came across this website. I couldn't believe it. I was so disappointed in myself for not doing it sooner but we took him off Singulair immediately. I called his allergist the next morning and questioned him for a second time and he told me that sometimes parents of kids with ADHD just look for something to blame for their childs behavior. I couldn't believe he said it to me. We made an appointment at Children's Hospital Boston to have him evaluated for ADHD just in case but couldn't get an appointment until Feb 08. When we had him evaluated he had been off Singulair for over 3 months. The neurologist said he did not have ADHD. When I asked him if he thought Singulair could have been to blame for the symptoms he was showing and he said there was "compelling evidence" that showed Singulair does cause ADHD symptoms in some children. We were happy that he did not have ADHD but were so sad that we gave him this medicine for 3 years without realizing what damage it was doing. My biggest fear now is that there may be long term damage. All his symptoms have gone away but sometimes he still seems a little out of it and I don't know if it is just his age or his personality or if it might still be some long term effect from the Singulair. He is such a sweet, loving, caring boy and I hope that I didn't do any long term damage by giving his this horrible medicine. I hope that something will be done soon to get this medicine off the market. My prayers go out to all the families who lost children on this medicine. I can't even imagine the pain you are feeling but I thank you for getting your story out and saving other children! I am thankful that I was able to get informed by this website because God knows my allergist wasn't looking out for my son! His asthma has been under control since being off Singulair and just seems like a happier child over all!
Thank you!

Hi all, I'm hoping someone here with Seroquel-experience can help us with some information. My wife has been on Seroquel for approximately 5 weeks (ramping up to 200mg per day during the first 10 days, approximately). After 4 weeks, the severe breathing problems started. Physicians have verified the oxygen level in her blood to be excellent, her lungs and heart are in perfect shape, she has no fever and no indication of bacteria-infections. All indications are that this is caused by the Seroquel. She explains the intense sensation as drowning, almost passing out while gasping for air. She's feeling very dizzy, probably due to breathing too much as a result. Occasionally her breathing is not so deep, but more like hyper-ventilation. The problem became unbearable (and my wife endures a lot) after approximately 1 week, so 5 weeks into the Seroquel scheme she quit cold-turkey two days ago. The breathing problems are still the same. We are hoping someone could tell us how much time these breathing problems can be expected to remain, as I've googled my eyes out without finding any information on this. A week? - Two weeks? -Even more? - please respond, and in advance, thank you for your help!

I am replying to my first post here yesterday....So today I didn't give my 3 yr old son the singulair and do not plan on it ever again! I have to say though...I am very very concerned. I think tonight I truly saw one of the bad behavioral side effects :( He got upset over something so small. Said he didn't love any of us, he didn't want Chinese which is his favorite! He didn't want to do any of the things that we gave him options on that he normally would jump right up to do! This devastated me! I right away thought to myself is this going to get worse before it gets better? He is still complaining of back pain which I know that will take some time. He punched a little boy just before dinner in the neck. He walked out of the neighbors house to go home and usually I have to carry him out. This is seriously scaring me! I'm not sure what to do ? My fiance, his father, doesn't understand and started to yell at him for his behavior. (We don't get much time to talk and when I try to his dad just says he is ok but I know, deep down he isn't) I am the one with him everyday at home taking care of him. I am now being more patient with this behavior when normally I would lose patience and punish him with time outs. Do I continue to do time outs?
Why should I punish him when its not all him ? This is so unfair :( I mean, he is a boy and yes he acts like one. Doesn't share at times, hits sometimes, he is a or was a normal 3 year old boy. His dad will follow my footsteps on this as he see's how I handle things but I'm a little witty on how to handle it now. At this point I am babying my baby! I will tell him when things he does is not right but I'm at the point now that I don't want to send him to preschool! Do I inform the teachers? Can someone give me some words? Its just hard because he is my oldest and is only 3 so not only am I learning to deal with regular behaviors, I now have to understand how to cope and deal with this until its over. Thank you in advance very much for any help and advice!!!!

Hi, I had the Murena inserted 2-7-08 at 2 PM. I am 43 years old.I nearly passed out at the doctor's office due to the pain. I felt like like my body was trying to expel the dog-gone thing. The literature said I would experience some discomfort during the insertion. That was an understatement!! I went home and by 4:30 I was cramping very bad. I called the doctor and he said to take some more Ibuprofin and to go to bed.Said to keep an eye on it I was bleeding very badly. I had to change tampons every 2 hours and wear a pad. It was gross with large clots. I took some strong I buprofin the rest of the weekend and called the doctor again. I know he had to think I was whining. I ran a fever and felt like crap. I went in to see him and he checked to see if I was expelling it. He said no. I continued to have a period-heavy- until my 6 week follow-up visit. He said "Let your body adjust, and if you continue to have problems, we can discuss taking it out." I had a period for 3 months. With wearing tampons for so long, I was concerned about Toxic Shock Syndrome. I still have brown slimy stuff every 2 weeks ago. I just never know when it will be, no set day. I used start my period every 4th Tuesday on the dot that lasted for about 2 1/2 days. since then i have gained 18 pounds. I can't check to see if the thing is there because I have a very long vagina and can't reach it with my fingers..and it's gross. I don't really have an appetite. I have been depressed. I don't have a lot of energy. I don't want to go anywhere. I don't desire sex (no wonder you don't get pregnant!) I have started to get acne. (I haven't had acne since high school). I am thinking about getting it taken out but don't want to risk pregnancy. I was on the pill for 15 yrs off and on and have some concerns about it at my age. I thought this would last me until I hit menopause and then wouldn't need birth control. Anyway, at least I am not crazy..there are others with these issues.

i was given this for a sinus infection. the first day i had red bumps all over my legs. i have really bad allergies so i passed it off. the second day i had the bumps, felt a little disoriented and dizzy, and i felt pain in all my joints. by the third day i had a fever of 104 degrees, all the other symptoms and all i wanted to do was sleep. my fiance gave me Advil and it brought my fever down to 102 but then went back up to 103. he took the prescription away from me. he got worried and took me to urgent care where after waiting 5 hours to see someone they said i had the flu-drink lots and sleep. oh and maybe its a reaction to the medication. my temperature went down to normal day after i stopped taking it, my joints and swelling are better, i still have the bumps on my legs but i have another appointment with my regular doctor later this morning so i'll see what he says. my brother called earlier today and as soon as i told him the name of the medication he said "oh, so you have spots all over?" so i guess it's not just me?

I was taking sulfamethoxazole for 9 days and woke up on the lasttay with whatr looked like the measels all over my entire body, it is now two days later and I am still covered in hives and really itchy. I, too had a fever of 100.7 at the highest. It's terrible because I work with the public, and everyone I come across looks at me as though I have the plague. Well, I guess there have been more severe allergicreactions. I should count my blessings. It's also nice to know I'm not the only one. You never know when a health professional; is gonna slip up and misdiagnose you.

My daughter went for her yearly physical with our pediatrician. That morning we went in and the doctor insisted that she get immunized. Of course that immunization was Gardasil. My daughter felt fine and she was okay that day. After the doctors appointment she went on to school, and I went on to work to complete what I thought was to be a normal day. That afternoon I picked her up from school and she told me that she thought she may be getting sick. She complained of a stomach ache, and a mild headache. We went home and she ate very little, but told me and her dad that she felt better.
That evening she was to cheer at her first football game of the season in a neighboring town. She left with her best friend and her mother around 6 pm. at 8:44 that night her best friends mom called and told us that she had passed out at the game.
By the time that we had gotten there EMT's had taken her to the local ER, at that time she had barely regained consciousness, and her temperature was 103 degrees. Her extremities were cold, and her body was burning up. Her breathing was shallow, fast and irradic. Her pulse and blood pressure was extremely high. About an hour later the convulsions started.
After what seemed like eternity, the physician narrowed this down to the side effects of Gardasil. They started IV fluids, and meds, but still to no avail she kept convulsing. After a few days of heavily sedated sleep, she awoke to blurred vision, fever and nausea.
We were not told of any adverse reactions to this drug or we would have never given it to her!

My boyfriend starting taking this 10 days ago for Bronchitis and Tonsillitis. He was prescribed two a day for 10 days.
Before he started taking the medicine he had already been vomiting for a day before being prescribed to it. He continued vomiting for the first few days after and I assumed it was not from the medicine cuz he had already been vomiting before. A few days into the meds he was not getting better and only getting worse and got a fever. I took him to the ER and the doc said to keep taking the medicine and he would give him anti nausea meds. Even after taking the anti nausea/vomiting meds.. he continued vomiting. The vomiting eventually stops after a few days and then from there on out he still was not getting better. He complained about difficulty breathing and he can hardly eat anything and is coughing constantly. He said his throat feels like its an 1/2 inch wide and he chokes when he trys to eat something that is solid. He has been having severe neck cramps, headaches and upset stomach.
Finally on his very last day taking sulfameth he came to my house and i noticed his skin looked red. 20 minutes taker he had rashes and hives all over his body.
I don't know how often this medicine is prescribed or maybe people only write reviews when they have a bad reaction to it but from what it seems I would stay away from this medicine unless you know for sure you are not allergic to it.

I was prescribed Levaquin for a sinus infection. It has been pure heck to say the least! After a few hours of taking the first tablet (500 mg), I began to feel really crummy. By that, I mean, body aches, sleeplessness, stomachache, nausea, an overwhelming feeling of unwellness. By the second day, my fever broke, which was good. But, with each passing day, I began to feel worse and worse. It was as if the medication was building up in my system. By the fourth day, I could barely function! I was sicker and sicker with each passing day. The only time I felt even somewhat human again was the 23rd hour BEFORE it was time to take the next dose! Within an hour of taking the next dose, I was sick again. By the fifth day, I could no longer tolerate this medication. I felt as if it were the worst case of the flu I'd ever had. I felt so bad that I felt as if I were going to die. I can't explain it, but my husband had to make the call to the doctor's office because I barely had the strength to talk. I am convinced that had I stayed on this medication, it could have killed me! It has been 3 days since I stopped taking it and am still dealing with severe leg weakness. I may be calling the doctor again tomorrow. This medication is pure poison as far as I'm concerned! Very, very dangerous.

I was prescribed 750 MG of Levaquin after a ER visit on Saturday, August 16th for a sinus infection. Both Saturday and Sunday I had diarrhea. I took the second pill on Sunday and I did not sleep the entire night. I was sweating so much. I felt out of sorts and scared in my own home. I started to turn on the lights. I even tried to sleep with my bedroom light on. It was an awful night to say the least, I won't go into all of the details. But I did start to question not only my physical health but mental. I knew I had been stressed out, but this never happened to me before. I was not able to work Monday. I took the third pill Monday not realizing this was all a reaction to the antibiotic. I was speaking to a close friend late Monday afternoon about my horrible night. I did not tell her what I was taking. She informed me that one time she was taking a antibiotic, Levaquin, and that she had a similar reaction and even hallucinated. I was relieved to know that I was not loosing my mind but it was the medication. I called my doctor's. office and they said stop taking it. They said they were aware that this had happened to some patients. Gee, thanks for telling me in advance. They suggested I take Benadryl to help me sleep. Needless to say, what a horrible experience I had. And this night was worse. I was sweating even more, could not sleep, tried to take a shower to cool off and then I started to hallucinate. I tried talking myself out of it, but the medicine was too strong. I called my God Mother and she talked me through it. Again, all the lights had to be on, I felt very anxious and scared. IT WAS AWFUL. If you have a sensitive system I would not take this! It is now August 21st and I still can not sleep. I am still out of sorts. I wish I knew in advance. All I know is I am telling everyone I know, DON'T TAKE LEVAQUIN!!!

My daughter had her first shot on Thursday three weeks ago. Starting that weekend she started with a headache, then nausea, vomiting, body aches and fever. This lasted for 5 days. Then followed by a severe headache for another 4 days. It also increased her period from 4 days to 9 that month. The doctors office who gave her the shot told me "that it wasn't from the vaccine", to make an appt. with a GYN ! I guess I need to be looking for another doctor !

After taking only 2 100 mg. tablets, I had a fever of 103, body aches and nausea. I attributed this to the bladder infection and continued the medication. After 5 tablets, I began to itch from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet and stopped taking the medication. I returned to hospital and blood tests revealed abnormal liver functions.
Please do not take this medication. It should be removed from the market.

Got prescribed Omeprazole for an upset stomach that was causing me to vomit a strange black substance which the gp put down to some sort of bleeding in the stomach, shortly after taking my first tablet i was violently sick, had a really bad fever, sweating and later that evening noticed a blotchy red rash under the arms, on the tops of my legs and down each side of my body.
I am almost 100% sure that it was the medication that caused these symptoms

I had the Mirena put in July 08' and have been miserable ever since...I have had nonstop cramping, headaches, leg pain, and now a regular fever.. I was told by my Dr. that the Mirena was a great form of birth control, and that after at least 2 days after insertion, you would forget you even had it in..I begg to differ with her on that...Everyday and night im reminded of this device with the horrible days, and long sleepless painful nights.. I will be going to have this removed, and if my doctor refuses to do so, I will do to the nearest ER and have it removed...I don't recommend this device to any women out there, its made me unbearable to live with and bed ridden..to all the ladies out there, please do research on this product, and don't go through these nasty side effects......

After taking Limbrel for about 3 weeks, I developed a fever of about 100. The next day, it was 103. I had stopped the Limbrel on the day when I first got the fever and by the third day, I had no fever at all. It was not an infection, I had no other symptoms besides the ones that fever gives (achy muscles and bones)
