I am 15 and have only been on Singulair for a week. But I have already had sever leg cramps and my foot locked into place for a few minutes with extreme pain. I had a nose bleed today too, which is not normal for me. I have also had really bad cramping which I didn't think anything of but now I don't know what to do because I have sever allergies to almost everything outside and this seems to be the only thing that helps. After reading all this I am freaked about everything. And I have been really moody this week, but I thought it was just because I am a teenager but now I don't know.

To anyone new to this site whose child is on Singulair and having problems consistent with the adverse reactions to Singulair documented on this site: take your child to the doctor as soon as possible and tell them you believe that your child is having an adverse reaction to the drug. Do not let yourself be talked into believing that Singulair does not have these side effects. Too many of us right here can confirm that it does. Even though the prescribing information for this drug has been updated to include a warning about these adverse effects, and the FDA is conducting an investigation into the safety of this drug, not all doctors are aware and some are simply unwilling to believe. If you hear "anecdotal evidence", "highly unlikely," or "I've never seen it happen" uttered during your visit, know that your doctor is making excuses for not knowing accurate information about this drug.
Doctors may attribute your child's behavior to their personality or developmental stages. But any child on Singulair should be removed from the drug if a consistent pattern of different or abnormal behavior is present. Most children do not fly off the handle for no reason, have night terrors, prolonged, violent temper tantrums, and act anxious, angry, sad, hateful, disconnected, or withdrawn most of the time. Most children do not have behavior problems that consistently leave you feeling like the worst parent in the world and completely mentally exhausted at the end of each and every day.
Tell your doctor that you want them to prescribe another asthma maintanence medication with a documented low risk of side effects. If your doctor trivializes your concerns or refuses to honor your request, FIND A NEW DOCTOR! YOU are the expert on your child, not someone who sees them a few times a year for a few minutes at a time.
After Singulair has been stopped, watch for a positive change in behavior over the course of several weeks. Make sure you have rescue medications on hand in case needed.
Most importantly, GO WITH YOUR GUT. "If something doesn't feel right, then something ain't right!"

Aged 40 and with an 8 year old son, I had Mirena coil fit on 1st August after having the depo injection for almost 2 years and being fed up about my weight gain. I was advised by doc that there was no weight gain with Mirena as the hormone was local rather than in your blood system. I was in absolute agony around half an hour afterwards. It felt like I was having contractions every 3 minutes. Rang doctor and was told to take Ibuprofen along with Paracetamol, which I did. The cramps didn't subside until around 5 hours later. I was in tears with the pain. I suffered for around a week after with period pains. All seemed ok after, other than I checked and couldn't feel the strings. I also asked my partner to check and he couldn't feel them......I went last week for my four week check and neither could the nurse! I am now going to have a scan on Wed 10th Sept to see where it is! Can anyone tell me what happens after this....if they find it what will they do?

Through the past years I have been looking for information about the quinolone antibiotics, Levaquin, Cipro and others.
I have not taken this kind of medications myself but a close friend did and I am absolutely sure that`s why he suffered psychiatric symptoms as well as extreme sesitivity to light and also had cramps/convulsions.
It`s a terrible long story which also etails other medications for instance statins.
I am surprised at how similar quinolone and statin side effects seem to be.
A few minutes ago I found a new site which might be interesting:
Google for "Death by Levaquin" and you will probably find the site I am thinking about.
If I write down the exact address it will be replaced by *****.
O passed away at an old people`s home at the age of 74. I will never forget his suffering.
The best thing you can do for yourself and the people around you is to "educate" yourself on diseases/medications and how the pharmaceutical industry is run.
Here are two books on that issue: Overdosed America (John Abramson) and The Truth About The Drug Companies (Marcia Angell).
Don´t give up.

I feel like I should share my positive experience with Lamictal to balance the negative reviews. I am on it for bipolar II. I sought help because of a mixed state that was causing me to deteriorate to the point of seriously considering suicide. I titrated up on Lamictal from 25 to 50 to 100 and now 200 mg. I started the 200 mg last week, and suddenly yesterday and today, it's like a cloud has lifted. I feel like myself again.
I've had very few side effects. I have the relatively-rare yawning issue--I yawn every few minutes even though I'm not tired. My dreams have been especially vivid, which I actually enjoy. My facial acne seemed to be a bit exacerbated at first, but it's calmed down. I have a couple of small blemishes on my chest and shoulders, which is unusual for me, but it's minimal and responds well to benzoyl peroxide. My weight has stayed the same.
My bipolar has affected every aspect of my life, and I feel more stable now than I have in years. I'm sure there are still rough times ahead, but the relief Lamical has given me is a huge gift. I feel hopeful for the first time in months.
Also, it seems to have increased my libido. Like, a lot. I'm not complaining about that!

Today was my first time taking NuvaRing out and about four hours after I did so, I got a horrible, stabbing pain in my vagina. It hurt so bad that I couldn't stop crying. The stabbing pain has stopped for now, but there's a constant burning sensation, discharge and stomach cramps. Has anyone else had this problem?

I was started on Methimazole for Graves, 10 Mg daily. Three weeks after I started taking it, I broke out in hives all over my body - not little itchy spots, huge welts that had red edges and yellow centers. My endocrinologist said it was likely an allergic reaction and I should stop taking it.
I did stop, but four weeks later, I am still not well. I have mild itches and am weak, I have trouble sleeping and concentrating. I cannot walk for more than a few minutes without sitting down. The interesting part is that proprinal has a 50% chance of the same reaction.
We are back to monitoring labs and going nothing. I have never been so sick in my life, and I am now going to try non-traditional medicine to see if I can address the thyroid issues that way.

oh yea...i forgot to mention dry eyes and a hacking cough that was severe but has since gone away, really bad pain in legs, elbows and joints and toes that feel broken to the point that i recently had to get on pain meds, over counter meds didn't do the job. the more i read about lisinopril the more i'm convinced to start a half dose tonight. i'm going to experiment by tapering myself off and if i live through it i'll let you all know if the side effects leave.

I took Yasmin for 3 years and stopped about 3 weeks ago in hopes of becoming pregnant soon. I am experiencing a rapid resting heart rate (100) and occasional mild chest pains. My blood pressure, however, is normal. I have also had a pain in my lower right abdomen below my hip bone off-and-on for a week. The first day it was sharp and lasted about 20 minutes and I thought it was ovulatory pain (and I guess it still could be). When it lingered, I thought it was my appendix, and now I'm a little confused as to what it is. It is mild and only happens for a few minutes a day. I'm just wondering if these things are all linked to the timing of stopping Yasmin. Has anyone else experienced any of these symptoms? I'm becoming paranoid about my health.

Not even a minute after using, I began to feel faint and have trouble breathing. It passed after sitting down for a few minutes... but it really had me scared. I contacted my doc the next morning, and she hadn't ever heard of this side effect with this drug.

my friend has been on geodon for about 3 years and is experiencing some very strange things! She gets cramps, like seizures in her legs and can't walk when this happens. Her doctor says there is nothing wrong. She gets neck and leg twitching and recently, the leg things have come with shortness of breath. Does anyone know anything about these side effects? Please reply! Thank you.

I started SMZ/TMP DS 800-160 tab 2 days ago. I have bad feelings about this drug and today is 4th July and the weekend. I will quit it to get some other drug for my UTI. But it won't be for 3 days because the doctor is out till Monday to get another drug. Someone tell me a drug that does work for UTI. Someone mentioned Amoxicilln? Can that be used? The headaches are awful. I can't seem to empty my bladder at night so I never really sleep since I pee every 20 mins a few drizzles. I also was given that drug that makes the pee orange. It is Phenazopyrid 200mg. It relieves pain, burning or irritation of the lower urinary tract. Someone offer us info on a positive good drug they have used to help UTI. Thanks!

I am 24 years old and I had a pulmonary embolism last month. I was on the birth control YAZ for only 3 months, and that's what doctors seem to think caused it. My insurance only paid for me to be in the hospital for three daysand I was sent home with lovenox shots and Coumadin pills.
One month later, my INR is still unstable, fluctuating so much that they are checking it twice per week. My dosage is constantly changing. I have a red, painful rash on my buttocks - it hurts of sit for more than a few minutes. I am losing clumps of hair. I have lost my libido. I am very irritable and snap at my husband several times per day. I have a headache almost daily and frequent nausea.
I hate these side effects!

I've been on this thing for about 3 days. I've been feeling nautious since the first day, but at first it would be mild & would go away within a few minutes. Tonight I'm lying in bed, dying with stomach pains, not cramps, intense stomach pains. Nausea...... stomach pains again. Nausea..... pain again. I ran to the bathroom like 5 or 6 times to puke and eventually gave up. I look like a freaking whale, too. I'm a little 110lb girl but I've gained easily a few pounds in the past few days and it shows. My dad slapped me on the stomach today & asked me if it was "a new addition to the family." My lower stomach area is all bloated. Just sitting here I can feel my stomach churning. Anyone else feeling my stomach pains? I mean really.

I got Mirena put in May 16th. I had it put in while I was on my period, the insertion wasn't bad at all. Felt like a period cramp. It was over in a few minutes. I felt fine. Went home and did some laundry. I bled for another week after getting it in. Then the next week I spotted. Two weeks after that I was fine. Then my period came back June 16th. I had it again for 2 weeks. Which brings me to today pretty much. The last two days I didn't bleed, and today I started bleeding again. I know the doctor said that the first 3-6 months there will be bleeding off and on. Everything is going to be out of whack until my body gets used to the foreign object inside of me.
That is really the only issue I am having. I'll have maybe one sensation of cramping and then nothing for the rest of the day. I've lost about 7 lbs since I got it in. I'm going to hold out and see what happens. I hope after 6 months my periods will be regular.

Everyone make sure you report your ADR's to the FDA. Here is the link. It only takes a few minutes and maybe we can stop this. I have filled one out before but since I have ruptured another tendon I am filling another one out.

It’s me again….no happy, Yes I have not kill my self yet (jk) Last night I told my boyfriend to go home cuz I was feeling moody, so he did, I didn’t sleep well at all. Today I woke up and I really didn’t feel like going to work, but I did. Went to bed with a headache and woke up with one, my BF called me and we were talking just fine and within a few minutes a started crying for no reason, then I star it laughing cuz I didn’t know why I was crying. So I ‘m not taking the pill anymore after today, If I don’t stop it now I’m going to be miserable in my vacation and I’m going to make it miserable for everyone else too ( No fair). I will see my doctor after my Vacation and I think I’m going for the IUD. One of my co-workers told me that its normal to get this reaction cuz I’m putting something in my body to do something that no natural…..I know that... we all do, but hey can get preggo right now so I have no option. I WANT TO BE MY SELF AGAIN< I MISS MY SELF!

BAD.... I hate it, and you should too.
I was on other BC pills in the past and they also cause the same side effects on me, I took them for 4 years and I quitted, four month later a got pregnant, two month after giving birth I had to get my gall bladder removed ( also a side effect of birth control). I started back on birth control because I in a serious relationship now and we don’t want to have kids at this time.
This pill is giving me lots of problems. I love to have sex with my boyfriend to the point I though I was a nympho and now my sex drive is BAD.....We start very good, and after a few minutes.....I get very dry and that’s the end of it. I hate it. My BF is the hottest men in the world (to me), and we had very good sex, we were like rabbits lol, I always had one or two orgasms, always natural lubricated. Now I get dry and we have to stop, I started the pill a month ago, I take it everyday at the same time, my breast is itching (I guess its growing) as the rest of body too, back pain and very irritable. I'm ready to quite, I’m going to try the IUD or the ring, Today I have the worst migraine and yesterday I had very bad mood swings all day, for not reason, I was seating in a meeting and all the sudden I want it to scream and run and just go off at everybody but a seat there and talk my self out of doing it, by telling my self it was the BC and I need it to come down cuz its nobody’s fault but the stupid hormones, I cry this morning also for no reason. IM DONE WITH THIS PILL. I won’t even recommend to my enemy.(migraines, mood swings, vaginal dryness, low sex drive, back pain, nausea, hungry all the time, breast tenderness, and I guess with all that depression its just natural)

Hi,
I wanted to post this link just to give some small consolation to our concerns about the lack of awareness THAT DOCTORS HAVE ABOUT SINGULAIR.This is a voluntary online informational site, that doctor's can join. It provides updated information on serious label changes and safety concerns on drugs. Most doctors at this point still get snail mail updates,in the paper shuffle a lot of information gets misplaced. The AMA would like to have all information come in online, eventually. The link is ******
read it and tell me if you think more can be done By the way my pediatricians office does not have online communication. Our life is forever changed because of that ! Information is playing a vital role in this drugs destructive path ,or the lack there of information.Again this is voluntary for the Doctors to sign up .In this modern day of communication how does important information not get where it is the most useful, I ask you? When drugs are making multi billion dollar profits, that would be an educated guess.I am doing another interview with CBS affiliate out of Boston on the 23rd of June, they contacted me.I hope it will reach more people who are still unaware of this drugs serious potential side effects. If any of you parents have some connection to media ,please use it to your best advantage to get this very important information out to the publicAlso so many of you ask how to help.Contact your local Senators and keep bothering them to reach out to the FDA to expedite this investigation. Make a pain in the butt out of yourself and be persistent.I will try to make reference to this site so your stories are heard. Dave and I are coming up on a year since our son passed on to our lord .Still fighting Kate and Dave M.

My doctor prescribed 40 MG Simvastatin to be taken 1 on Thursday and 1 on Sunday. That doesn't seem like much but I have only taken them 3 times and the pains in my knees are much worse also my feet hurt, my neck is a little sore, I have bad cramps a few minutes after I eat and even during the night....I also have had 2 nights of very strange dreaming.
-- By isparrow | Reply | (1) replies | Send Private MailSeveral years ago I was on Lipitor and after a year I could hardly walk with my knees so I told the doctor I was not taking that any more..he put me on Zetia and I did well on it and the pain in my knees lessened a lot ,until my insurance co. decided not to pay for Zetia anymore, I told the doctor and he put me on Simvastatin. I am not going to take any more of it and will discuss it with the doctor next week,.
