Doctors in denial: Numbness in hands and loss of dexterity due to Carpel Tunnel, not damage to Ulner Nerve, diminished vision - need cataract surgery, loss of balance- need brain scan. Urinary problems- need Flowmax, or whatever it is. Do they fail to link Levaquin to these and many other symptoms? My father has been in hospital for over two weeks due to this drug. Has been given one drug after another. Who knows what side effects they will have. Found faxes my father sent to his doc. Symptoms seemed to appear within two weeks of taking 7 day course, 500 mg. Vision diminished , balance problems, loss of appetite , swollen feet and ankles, dry mouth. urination problems, pain in calfs, hardly able to walk, numbness in hands........ On and on. Becoming human cash register for docs. Tell everyone at hospital the underlying problem was created by Levaquin. Now wears wrist tag saying allergic to Levaquin. This is becoming a fiasco. How do you get this out of your system?

i TOOK AVELOX FOR THE FIRST TIME YESTERDAY FOR A BRONCHIAL PNEUMONIA THAT JUST WOULDN'T GO AWAY AFTER A MONTH. MY DR GAVE ME SAMPLES FOR 7 DAYS & SENT ME OFF ON MY VERY WAY. I TOOK THE FIRST & ONLY PILL AT AROUND 10AM AFTER HAVING A PIECE OF TOAST AND A CUP OF COFFEE. AT AROUND 10:30 I BEGAN GETTING EXTREMELY DIZZY, I FELT MY LEFT ARM TINGLING & GETTING NUMB, MY FACE TINGLING & NUMB, MY CHEST BECOMING TIGHT & FELT THIS EXTREME HEAT COMING FROM MY BODY. I FELT AS THOUGH THAT I WAS GOING TO DIE.LUCKILY I TAKE CLONAZEPAM WHICH IS AN ANXIETY MEDICATION, IF IT WASN'T FOR THAT, I SWEAR I WOULD HAVE GONE OUT ON A STRETCHER. IT EASED SOME OF THE ANXIETY BUT NOT ANY OF THE TINGLING OR HEAT I WAS FEELING. I WAS MAKING MISTAKES AT THE REGISTER AND MY HEAD WAS EXTREMELY FOGGY AND FELT AS IF I WAS WATCHING MYSELF DO THINGS! I ENDED UP CALLING MY SISTER TO COME INTO THE STORE & COVER FOR ME SO I COULD LEAVE & IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY DR WHO TOLD ME TO STOP IT. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THAT ONE DOSE COULD DO THAT. EVEN TODAY, I STILL FEEL WEAK, MY FACE EVEN SWELLED OVER NIGHT, AND MY ARM IS STILL TINGLY & EVERY SO OFTEN I GET A PAIN IN MY CHEST. THE DR PRESCRIBED ME ZITHROMAX BUT I AM WAITING TO TAKE IT AFTER THAT WHOLE FIASCO WITH AVELOX. ID LOVE TO SUE THIS COMPANY'S PANTS OFF!! HOPEFULLY THESE EFFECTS WILL GO AWAY & NOT STAY WITH ME!!

I am so happy to have found information concerning Zocor on the internet and this particular website. My husband and I started on Zocor about 3 months ago when our insurance company, Caremark would not pay for Lipitor which we were on for about 10 years prior with little side affects. I started to notice that my hair was falling out and I started to have insomnia, something I never suffered from. Also started to notice heart palpitations.
My husband, meanwhile had started to notice extreme joint pain in his thumbs and seemed to be spreading to his fingers. Since I'm fairly new to the internet and google, I goggled Zocor and I can only say that I was shocked to read about all the side affects that we were experiencing appear on the many websites. I feel sorry for all the men and women going thru the trauma of hair loss and pain and a lot of other side affects from this drug, who may not have access to this kind of information. I plan on emailing the FDA so at least Zocor should disclose these side affects.

This site may have saved my life! My blood pressure & cholesterol meds were changed last Sept., and like Virge, 3 months later I had a severe vertigo attack (while driving). Long story short, I have been a wreck ever since...feeling dizzy & faint, anxiety attacks, spiking BP, acute insomnia, soreness in the back of my neck, overly sensitive to bright lights and loud sounds, and several reactions to anti-anxiety meds & vitamin B pills (some of which placed me in ER!).
I've seen over 20 different doctors & specialists, and NOT ONE has ever questioned the Simvastatin. A couple weeks ago, I Googled Simvastatin & vertigo and saw that vertigo was listed as a side-effect...then I saw the notes on this site. This prompted another visit to my doctor.
I've been off it ever since, and have noticed a substantial change for the better (I can sleep well again!) - although I'm still always dizzy and my BP has risen. I'm hoping that by taking it for so long, I haven't incurred any substantial long-term side-effects! I'm also wondering why some of us react so negatively to the drug - if there is another underlying medical condition that would cause such an adverse reaction?

I am 35 years old and LOVE my Mirena. I have NEVER felt better. All these "side effects" sound so crazy to me. I know 10 women who use this product and not one of the complain about anything. They all love it. Its their word of mouth that inspired me to look into it. I have had mine since March 06. I fear for all of you who are having "side effects" that you might be blaming this product, and ignoring that there can be some thing other than the IUD causing your problems. All of these comments are hell bent on blaming Mirena. I'm not saying that its not causing any of these side effects with some of you, but for some, I am wondering if your too busy blaming it, then finding out if there is really something else wrong. I didn't think it hurt that bad at the insertion, a little crampy, but nothing we as women couldn't handle. After I saw this site, I literally contacted the women that I know use it and they all were shocked that people were having such a hard time with it. You would think 1 out of us 10 would have something to say if there was a problem. The only thing in common that we all have is that we went to the same Dr. So maybe that could be an issue with some of you. I didnt bleed for weeks or months. And the pill NEVER could regulate me . Within 3-6 months I had a 90% decrease in my periods ( just like this product states it would do) i had used the vaginal ring before this and that caused some moodiness and was a bit odd during sex, But Mirena has made me feel free, not moody, no pain, no period, I have a strong sex drive ( mainly because I no longer have the worries such as did I remember my pill? Is the ring still in place or did it fall out?) My boyfriend never feels it or the strings ( and I have a short cervical neck!) Nor have I heard such things from my friends and family who do use it. I think if I was having some problems and stumbled across this website I would panic and blame Mirena as well. But in my opinion all these symptoms are things we as women will have happen due to stress, age or routine ob/gyn issues. i actually read in one of these comments someone asking about a lawsuit.... Are you kidding me??? If I were all you with these problems I would seriously check with your doctors and make sure there is nothing else causing your issues...Don't just blame a product with out making sure you know everything thats going on within your own body. I wouldn't take that chance but I am not the one with any problems. I'm sure this method isn't for everyone but my point is that I hope you don't overlook a more serious or undetected problem. good luck to all.

I have been using the ring for about a year. My boyfriend constantly complains about my moods. He claims that I don't ever get excited or happy about anything. I thought maybe, I was just depressed or something. Then I started to notice my hair falling out. Like tons of it in the shower and on the restroom floor. Has anyone else experienced this? I realize that hair shed is normal but not gobs of it at once. I have removed my ring. I am hoping that things go back to normal.

My 81 year old mother, who has Diabetes and Blood Pressure (and who is on eleven medications) was given a prescription for 750(!!!) mgs of this drug, by the doctor's physician assistant for a mild upper respiratory infection. Four days later, she ends up in the hospital delirious and confused, with pain in her back and legs. She recognized no one. After a few days, and constant intravenous fluids, she came back to herself. She's always been sharp as a tack, and in pretty good shape for her age. When she was brought to the hospital, they thought she was stroking, and of course, she couldn't tell them that she was just prescribed this medication. All her battery of tests came back negative for stroke. Her useless doctor never even showed up at the hospital. If she had, she could have told them about the prescribed Levaquin. When she was released from the hospital, I called the pharmacist and asked what medication that she was taking could of caused this - and he said without a doubt, the Levaquin. This stuff is absolute poison and should not be on the market. How it got approved, I don't know - maybe kickbacks to them - for sure kickbacks to the doctors who prescribe it and claim side affects are very rear with this medication. If you are every given a prescription for this - ask your doctor for something else.

I am just starting (hopefully) to come off the Medication Ride From Hell. I I am 61 and take estrogen, diovan, vytorin, boniva, and just started back taking Prozac (1/2 dose) after this fiasco. Two weeks ago today I started having pain in my face like I got hit by a MACK truck for 5 days, especially one tooth hurt if I touched it. Then on Tues, I went to dentist, took x-ray, no abscess. So figured sinus infection. Wed I go to have epidural shots in my back for 3 bulging discs. But I had a slight fever and suspected sinus infection, so they would not do an epidural, for fear of introducing bacteria into my spine which could result in paralysis. OH BOY So this doc gives me tramedol 50 mg for pain in 3 of my discs. Eventhough 2 ibuprophens work great, I can't take advil because of stomache issues. I am sensitive to meds, so a little goes a long way. So then back to my reg doc who gives me AVELOX . And now the nightmare begins......At 7:30 pm I took Avelox and 1/2 half of a tramadol (never took either one before). Around 9:00 pm took another 1/2 tramadol. Figured I was tolerating well. At 1:30 a.m. took a whole one. (RX is 1-2 3 times a day) A few hours later I wake up itching all over. By 5:30 a.m. the slightest move I make I am spinning and nauseous. Fall back to sleep, get up and am having vertigo and nausea. I think maybe a little sprite will settle my stomach. I immediately throw it up. My body feels paralyzed with muscle spasms, pain and extreme weakness. Also pain between my shoulder blades, heart palpitations, sense of panic, extreme heaviness in my limbs, headache and continued dizziness and nausea. Felt as if I had a slab of concrete on top of my chest, as if the muscles would not move to let me breath. Call my hubby home. He takes me to urgent care, they started an IV ad then because of "possible heart symptoms" they ambulance me to the hospital. At hospital, they gave me anti nausea meds in IV. The ride in ambulance was a big blurr. My first time in 61 years ever in an ambulance. They confirmed my sinus infection with a CAT scan which probably ruled out some other things too. I leave hospital around 5 pm and am feeling somewhat better, as all meds are now out of my body for about 15 hours. Fri, no Avelox...took a break. Sat, Sun took it and all the symptoms came back except for the vertigo and nausea which was caused by the tramedol. Skipped Monday, to test theory that it is the drug. Take it Tues, within 2 hours symptoms back with a vengeance and major panic attack out of no where, hearting pounding. I am at work so I manage to get through and when I get home I collapse in chair and can't move. Finally Wed I said thats it NO MORE AVELOX. Thurs, back to doc. She gave me Bactrim DS. I am still having some muscle weakness and fatigue. Woke up at 11:30 a.m. and took pill around 2:00, fell back to sleep around 4:30 pm with spasms in upper back and shoulders, causing weakness in my arms. I hope I can tolerate the Bactrim for the next 9 days and my side effects let up. The doctors and pharmacist look at you like your crazy when you tell them what happened. When I found this site I was so relieved when other people described the same symptoms as mine down to the smallest details. Thanks for being here.

Ran into friend at grocery store with mystery illness. Docs attribute it to Agent Orange exposure. Been at death's doorstep for a year. Hands were extremely cold and has little energy. Showed up one day at golf course with oxygen bottle! Asked him if he had taken Levaquin. Unfortunately had. Docs again fail to link antibiotic exposure to his ailments.
-- By seakelp27 | Reply | (5) replies | Private Message meI wonder how many illnesses and deaths this poison has caused? Why does the FDA allow this crap? Do you people realize that the average person is clueless about the side effects of drugs like this. Put total confidence and their well being in the hands of ignorant docs and profit crazed drug companies.
Ignorant oncologist failed to link my dad's symptoms to Levaquin, instead attributed them to b-cell lymphoma which just happened to suddenly appear. Rituxan and numerous other drugs (Heparin, Lasix, Gamma globulin, Tylenol, antibiotics, Insulin, steroids, Flowmax, etc.) was too much. A fiasco, people think he died of lymphoma. Was walking three miles a day before taking Levaquin, for an undiagnosed lung infection.
