Flake symptoms and conditions

Significant hair loss has caused thinning around my face & entire hair line. Within weeks of taking Ambien CR... Woke up daily with headaches, mood changes, depression.....

I am a licensed NYS Cosmetologist. I know what is normal hair loss & what is not. It started with itching on my whole scalp, there was a lot of white greasy almost dandruff substance on my scalp. It didn't flake off like normal dandruff though. Then I noticed my hairline was not what it would normally be. Each time I brushed my hair the brush was filled with more hair daily... I stopped taking the Ambien CR, the itch went away almost immediately & so did the hair loss. I thought I'd give it one more try & took 1 pill one night. The next day the itch came back, so did the white greasy substance on my scalp & my hair started to fall out again.......... Went to my Dr told her what was going on & she didn't even blink, just asked if I wanted something else for sleep. I said no thank you not after this experience. Went back on Advil PM, not sleeping as well as I was, but at least my hair isn't falling out any more. Just keep hoping it will grow back in, has anyone had their hair grow back???

I Had half of my thyroid removed 16 years ago. I was immediately put on synthroid. It made me crazy. I had rage and emotions that I couldn't control. I went through 2 divorces because of synthroid. I did not realize that was what was causing it. My doctors thought that i was crazy when I told them my symtoms. It must be the help of God because I stopped taking synthroid and started doing research and found out that sea weed would help me and do the same thing that synthroid did. Just a flake or two a day has been helping me for almost 2 years now. I feel great without the side effect that I would normally get from synthroid. Two much will make you weak though but the small about I take works just fine for me.

I was on Ortho Evra for a couple years and LOVED IT!!! I did have issues with the patch staying on. I have very dry skin and it would flake and cause the patch to loosen. The only place I could get it to stay was my upper arm, which was embarrassingly exposed during the summer months. But I had NO negative side effects. Except once I got a rash where the patch was, but I believe that was from some new lotion I had just used. I would still be on Ortho Evra if the lawsuits didnt scare my doctor! She refuses to prescribe it anymore because of the lawsuits. Its a shame because it was the perfect option for me. One thing to note though, you MUST be diligent about replacing the patch on the right day. twice I lost track and was a day or two late changing the patch, and I kid you not, BOTH times I got pregnant!! It was a good thing, because i love my girls and they came at perfect times. Just a little unexpected!
