Hi, I have been taking lisinopril 2.5 mg for a little over a year now. I am 20 years old and had high blood pressure for my age so my doctor prescribed me to a low dose (2.5 mg) of lisnopril. I didn't think much of it at first because I figured my doctor had prescribed it and knew what was best for me, so I have been taking it over a year now.
The past couple days, I've started to think more about things and am wondering if the lisinopril has anything to do with it. I have definitely noticed that my hairline is receding faster and my hair, especially in the front of my head, is thinning. I have also gained weight over the past year and cannot seem to get any weight off. I never had these problems of losing hair or gaining weight before I started lisinopril.
My question is could the lisinopril, even with the low dose of 2.5 mg that I'm taking, actually cause these types of things to happen?
If anyone reading this could please reply to me and let me know, I would appreciate it so much because I am really worrying about this. Thanks.

I am not currently using nuvaring anymore because of a side effect I haven't really found anyone else experiencing. I would like to share my story and if anyone has had the same or similar symptoms please let me know because I am totally bewildered about it. I started using nuvaring after the birth of my daughter in December. I was on the ring for about one to two weeks. At first everything was fine but I started to experience very unique chest pains. The best way I can describe them is they felt like they were in the tissue and flesh in between my skin and my rib cage, and it felt like the area was being squished in a vice, and then my back would start to hurt alot. They first started about once every other day, but then got more frequent to the point when I stopped they were constant. I could not sleep because the only comfortable position was to sit down hunched over with a pillow on my stomach, with my back up against my headboard. My husband brought up the point that it could be the ring, and at that point I was willing to consider anything. I quit using the ring, and the pain stopped, for a little while. But it is still ongoing to this day. Although it only happens about once or twice a month, the pain is no less severe. I am sure it was the nuvaring or the ingredients in it that has triggered this because I have never had this problem before using it. Please if anyone has any advice or ideas, your help would be very much appreciated.

My sister had this exact thing happen to her and the nurse who posted the saline shots is totally right. It took three doctors to find the one that knew that injecting the site with saline to clean off the crystals that eat at the flesh is the solution. Apparently most doctors have no idea what this is. It takes about 8 sessions, and once the crystals are wiped from the skin, then the body will begin to fill in the dent. No one ever mentioned this as a side effect and apparently happens when you tense up and the shot is improperly administered

i've had my mirena in for almost 10 weeks, i had my baby girl on April 2nd, and got mirena may 12th and everything was fine at first... besides the fact that i've been bleeding ever since i had it put in, and on 2 occasions have passed flesh colored blood clots, had severe cramping, weight gain, headaches, depression, paranoia, anxiety, anger, extreme appetite gain, loss of sex drive, and many other strange side effects... i never would've thought that these things were caused by this IUD, until i read how many other women were having side effects to... then finally i realized how this thing worked... it doesn't prevent pregnancy at all... there's a chemical that thins the lining of your uterus, therefor, an egg gets fertilized, travels to your uterus, and your body aborts it, so you are time after time becoming pregnant, it just makes it physically impossible for you to carry the baby in your womb... which raises this question to me... does this mean it could cause tubal pregnancy? which is a risk to your life?! hmmm...

My mother is on Toprol-XL, and she has complained of being so fatigued, she sleeps so much, and this is someone who has always had a tremendous amount of energy. The other thing, and I would love a reply to this - she said she's experienced something at night while sleeping that feels like a seizure. She describes this as follows, "like my brain is shaking or trembling inside my head and my hands are trembling too." Has anyone else experienced this? Please let me know.

I have had at least four Kenalog shots over the past three years due to sinus infections. The shot provides great relief and a noticeable improvement within 24-48 hours. I have experienced absolutely no side effects. I am so thankful that something like this is available to patients. I was aware that some patients had experienced deep indentations in their flesh at the site of the injection, but I do not personally know anyone who has had a problem with this type of injection. When I have needed relief from severe sinus problems, I can say with certainty that this has helped me tremendously.

I've been using yaz for about 3 weeks; I am 27 years old and am a newly wed. I have seen a dramatic decrease in my sex drive, which, of course is a major issue for my husband and me. Since I have been on it, I have had no desire, not climax, nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-(
See, I'd really started to like it... it is the only hormonal birth control that I have tried that has not made me have frequent head and stomach aches- I've tried abstinence, the diaphragm, ortho, ortho lo, the ring, IUD, abortion, rhythm, withdrawal, the pill. No Avail.
...Oh, well, on to find another method- one that does give those of us who have issues with hormonal birth control headache and body aches, one that is simple, and does not kill embryos (thank you, Jesus)!
I Timothy 3:16
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
We serve a mighty God. Mighty enough to create the entire universe, and come down, as a man and live on His earth, still having all power in His hand, die, and rise again, leaving His spirit to dwell until He returns again.
What a mighty God we serve.

I am 43 yr old woman and have been on simvastatin on and off for the past 3yrs, it's only since coming across this website that I have actually managed to find a connection between this awful drug and a whole heap of medical problems. The most recent course made me so ill that I thought I had an incurable illness that no one could diagnose, at times I have been in so much pain I thought I was going to die. It started with severe knee pain, I have a little arthritis in the knee but doctors were baffled at why it would hurt so much as x-rays on knees and hips were ok. I ended up having an operation to cut a ligament, that was over a year ago and had been in crippling pain ever-since. Also; foggy head, headaches everyday lasting all day, pain in jaw, shoulders, neck, swollen throat, incredible limb swelling, numbness all down right side, kidney problems, weakness in muscles, aching hips and legs, itching, insomnia, to name a few. I complained to my doctor when I was prescribed 50mg of this poison because as soon as I took it, I immediately felt ill and collapsed from terrible weakness, couldn't even lift a feather. They reduced it to 20mg, and I blindly kept taking it, in the meantime, my leg function was worsening, my back was killing me, I couldn't sleep because of the unbelievable burning in my shoulders, hip, neck and legs, everything hurt so much. I have been in tears from the pain and frustration of not knowing what was happening to me, painkillers, even high potency prescriptions just didn't work. I was a healthy gym-going person with a slightly high cholesterol reading, and suddenly, I was almost crippled, unable to function or look after my family, couldn't even handle simple chores that I had done a thousand times before, couldn't think, speak well, do crosswords, it was unbelievable. I have had ECG's, heart stress tests, been to and fro to doctors, hospitals, specialists, even seen an osteopath with these pains, they must have thought I was a hypochondriac! Finally, I insisted on an MRI on my thigh as it had changed shape as there was a lot of muscle wasting in both my right arm and thigh, and so much pain. A lump had also appeared and was really worrying me. The doctor tried to fob me off and said it was a fat lump, I argued that if it was fat it wouldn't hurt so damn much, so the result of the MRI is that I have a tumor which is getting bigger. If I find out that this is a result of the medication, the gates of hell will open.
I took myself off this lethal stuff immediately as soon as I realized there was a connection between it and my debilitating condition, though it's too late to save my 12 yr relationship, that went down the tubes because I just couldn't function well, oh, and my job. and any chance of working after being ill for so long.
I have been off it just a few days but already I feel almost human again. I know it'll be a while before I can see a marked difference and do some of the things I used to be able to do like walk the dog!! but I am furious with my doctor's and have written a letter of complaint, and have told them that I would rather take my chances with god and be a happy person than ever trust them again. I am in no doubt whatsoever that this drug has ruined the last 3 years of my life and probably caused irreversible damage to my leg muscles. Why take a pill because the doctor said so??NEVER AGAIN from now on everything will be checked via websites like this, I am so disgusted that instead of helping me, my own doctor just prescribed other medications I need not have had because of this pill when all he had to do was take me off it. I find it hard to believe that they don't know of these side effects, or pretend not to, how can they not make the connection?? Absolutely furious. I am in worse health now than I ever was, there should be a serious health warning before this is given to anyone, and the first port of call for any complaints should be the doctors who prescribe them instead of offering alternative solutions. This is a time bomb waiting to explode.

HI, i too have to say i am kind of relieved after reading this website that i am not alone with my experiences of the kenalog injection. I was given kenalog injections to treat hayfever, although i wasn't told the name of the injection. They did help and i probably would of continued this year if it wasn't for the side effects.
I was told that to have one a yr was safe, then just before xmas i noticed a dent on my hip, this started getting larger and looked almost like scare tissue, I too was worried i had some sort of flesh eating disorder. The dent is still there and i will never have that injection again. I also have been experience problems with my hips and pain around my coxis,i am not sure if this too is related to the injection. I was told by my doctor who is very good that the kenalog had eaten my fat tissue causing a dent and that it will get better in time.

Good evening all....I as well as you all have a story to share about my son. Kameron lived the terrible twos to the fullest and turned into the biggest sweetheart when he turned 3. But then his doc wanted to try something stronger for his allergies and thats when Singulair changed out lives. Kameron has been on that junk since about November/December and since then everyones lives around him has been pure hell. He turned into satan in the flesh. I have never seen as much anger as I do in my son. On a weekly basis we go through stomach pains, depression, anger issues, him not eating for days, many sleepless nights, and thats not even all of them. He has spit in my husbands face and called me very bad words (that nobody has ever used in front of him towards me), Ive walked around with black eyes from him (remember he is only 3), he has given me bloody noses and straight up told his dad and I both that he hates us, and doesnt love us anymore. We cant take him around our friends children cause he is very abusive and controlling with them. He shows no interest in the things that he once loved, like his toys and pets. We have taken him to the doc and have been told over and over again that he is just a typical 3 year old but a mama knows when something is wrong with her baby!!I havent seen my sons precious smile since this stuff has taken over him or even heard him laugh. Im taking him to a different doc tomorrow and takin all of your comments with me and I am not leaving his office till they do something for my son!! My thoughts n prayers are with all of you that are goin through this cause I myself now how hard its been..

I have been taking Quasense for 3 months now and i have been on my period for almost 3 weeks now. It started as a normal period but i am now bleeding so badly that i can't make it through a class without bleeding through. Also, there is a flesh like discharge in my period too, it looks very unhealthy. I feel like this birth control is screwing up my body and I would recommend anyone who is taking it to stop. I feel very sick and am light headed all the time. I stopped taking the medication and the period continues and worsens.

I to have a huge dent in my right butt cheek. I would be interested in a class action suit. This is ridiculous! It has been about three months since I received the shot. Has anyone noticed their dents getting better with time?

Hi, I just put the NuvaRing in about 2 weeks ago and so far I'm not exactly impressed. It's nothing real BAD but it has completely changed the dynamics of my vagina. It is dry, with a stinging feeling inside all the time - after sex is way worse, and my vagina gets so sensitive that it throbs and aches on the outside, and stings on the inside.
I thought "ok, give it a chance to adapt" but really, there is a foreign object in my body which is
A) unhygienic - it will catch all sorts that will sit in there and fester - lots of semen. The self cleansing action of the vagina (it sheds its walls very quickly, and is full of mucous membranes) is hindered. And
B) I can feel it inside, but not like you would feel a 'foreign object'. I can feel it as it an almost painful uncomfortable achy feeling that is like almost a cramp. Hormones leaching into my flesh - very unnatural I have to say.
What The Man Thinks
Last night whilst having sex, my partner came, and I moved slightly and he gasped with pain and said "I thought that felt a bit strange" - the NuvaRing had hurt his penis but he didn't realize until afterwards as it had directly and intensely stimulated him, it was only afterwards that he realized it was verging on very painful. Not good.
He can also feel it when we have sex and finds it a bit off putting - he is also having sex with the NuvaRing, not just me.
In my opinion, I'm really glad that people are thinking of new ways to administer birth control, but I don't think this one is a winner. I hate condoms with a vengeance but you know what? They get more and more appealing every stinging day.
Don't forget ladies that the greatest experiment ever performed on women was the big fat bullshit regarding oestrogen. We have been experimented on for 50 years, yet right at the beginning scientists knew that oestrogen caused cancer in rats and mice, AND WOMEN. Don't ever forget that pharmaceuticals are out to get your dollars, and will fudge results, fire people, ruin lives and make you sick. Next time you have something wrong with you, try going to naturopath for a proper solution - they actually know what is going on with your body and don't prescribe a ''one size fits all' drug answer.
That's it for me and the NuvaRing!
I tried. I failed.

I was on Nuva ring for 10 days. By day 5, I was severely depressed, crying daily, and having difficulty caring for my three young children. In addition, I was having dark bloody discharge after my period would have normally ended. I am certain that Nuva ring caused my symptoms and took it out. I can not believe that this bc is approved by the FDA. It is not worth it.

I have been on Lupron for about a month and I have my second shot this week. I really just wanted to see if anyone else has had dizziness?? I am so dizzy most of the time and I have passed out twice. I haven't spoken with the doctor about it yet but it is really scary because i travel for my job and I am afraid I am going to be in a car accident one of these days if this keeps up. The joint pain is the other major thing. I haven't had any cramping which seems abnormal to me since it really should have been going crazy at this point. Any input you have on this subject would be great. Thanks

I have been taking Zocor and Cozaar and Verapmil. But I think since Zocor (only 10ml) my whole body aches all the time,. sometimes I get these localized tooth ache like pain. My right hip always hurt now my right elbow does. I have a hard time when I first get up, but the worst part is my whole body, flesh and all feels traumatized. Same sensetaion you feel when you have hurt one part of your body aand all of your body feels the pain. THe other effect I experience is on the week ends whenI'm out and about, shopping or what ever, I run out of energey sometime in the afternoon; my whole body feels like lead. What helps is drinking water at that moment and I feel some whaaaat better. Have to talk to my doctor yet.

I am a generally active and fairly healthy 77 yr old who had been taking 10 mg of Lipitor for over 12 years with no obvious adverse effects. Recently I started having pain in my right leg, severe enough to wake me at night. This was followed by a significant weakness in both legs, and for a while, accompanied by a lightheartedness. The doctor had me take a series of lumbar and leg x-rays which didn't show much of significance. He wrote a prescription for physical therapy, which I did not follow.
-- By norman47 | Reply | (9) replies | Private Message meI did internet research on my own which made me aware that Lipitor could be the cause, in spite of the fact that I had tolerating the drug for so many years. I told the Doctor of my suspicions and we agree to stop the Lipitor for at least 6 weeks to see. A few days later, all my symptoms were gone. So be cautious, adverse effects from Lipitor can occur anytime.
