I am a 42 year old healthy male who works out and, therefore, I know what muscle fatigue and common muscle cramps feel like. However, today was my 10th dose of a 14 day supply of Levaquin 500 mg for a chronic cough and possible sinus infection. Suddenly this morning, after walking down 1 1/2 flights of stairs at our church, both of my calves simultaneously cramped so severely, I lost feeling in both of my feet. I had to grab the handle bars to keep from falling. Once we got home, I wrapped my calves in a heating pad for an hour which did little to relieve the pain and cramping. My calves are now noticeably swollen with continued cramping. I can barely walk. Suspicious of the Levaquin, my wife googled the drug and found this website. Thank God! Now all we can do is pray that the suggestions for self-help posted on Oct. 27th will work and that I do not develop any further side affects as others have posted. I will also alert my GP on Monday of this website as well as everyone we know.

I appreciate everybody sharing here, I've been using the Nuvaring for only 8 days and I have already experienced a persistent headache, nausea (which has caused me to actually puke twice), hot flushes, mood swings (although I have felt very down most of the time and I have no reason to) and I have a UTI, anal AND vaginal itching. I have NEVER experienced any of these things before. Do I need to add that sex is painful too, something that has never happened before with my boyfriend and I. Also I am very active usually, I run and practice yoga on alternate days, and since inserting the ring I had a weird experience each time I did either activity where I got dizzy, almost threw up and had to stop. I usually run up two flights of stairs to my apt, even with shopping bags and I can't even climb them without getting out of breath now. Also, I have a bout of eczema on my face and haven't had eczema since childhood. What can I say? Before I read these postings I thought it might just be a coincidence but since the majority of the problems I'm reporting have been happening to other people, this makes sense. I'm glad I knew so early on. The ring is going in the trash now.

I am 20 years old and had basically tried every form of birth control before Mirena (the pill {multiple kinds}, the NuvaRing, and the shot). My OBGYN talked to me about the possibility of Mirena. Normally they do not do it for people who haven't had children but with my track record with other forms of birth control we decided to go ahead with it. I got it put in place in October 2007 and passed out on the table. It was the worst pain I have had in my entire life and had to lay down in the hospital bathroom for 45 minutes after insertion because I couldn't even stand up. I cried the whole hour ride home after and my boyfriend had to carry me up three flights of stairs into my apartment. I bled for a month and a half after insertion and then didn't see any blood until a month ago. I started getting very bad cramps (have had them all along but not bad, they said my body had to get used to it so I could have some cramping for a few months), after one day of the horrible cramping I finally had to go to the ER. The Dr's told me I had a 3inch ovarian cyst that had ruptured. After CT scans, and multiple internal and external Ultrasounds they found it was still 1 inch long and put me back on the pill to shrink it. They claim Mirena couldn't be the cause but I am doubtful, I have never had a cyst until Mirena and I think it is the cause. Ovarian cysts are on the side effects chart for Mirena so it is interesting that they told me that can't be the cause. Anyway, after weeks on 3 Vicodin a day and constant pain I started feeling better but occasionally still have pain. The doctors also thought they might have to surgically remove it which could put at risk my possibility of having children (SCARY!) If another cyst comes I will get it removed, I have had it for 6 months and can't deal with anymore. I'm about ready to be celebit until I'm ready to have kids because going through all of this is not worth it. If anyone has had the same problems and got it removed can you email me and tell me how bad it hurt? I am going to be really upset to have gone through all of this to have more awful pain to have it removed. Thanks- my email is ******

I tried to cut down on my Advair usage because it's so darned expensive - close to $200 a month. I only did one puff in the morning. I continued taking my Singulair as prescribed, once a day, at night. I had to go back to using Advair twice a day when I found I couldn't walk up two flights of stairs without difficulty breathing. But the thing that I hate the most is the coughing and the yellow mucus. Does anyone have this problem? I breathe better after expelling the mucus but sometimes it's so hard to do, I have actually coughed up blood. I have, also, lost my regular voice. At times I sound completely hoarse, and forget about singing, That's gone. I ask the pharmaceutical companies, if I must continue taking these drugs, can you make a version I can afford!

My calves feel like I walked up 25 flights of stairs, similar with my thighs. I started reading the side effects and have been on Vytorin for about a year, and for about 8 months this has been going on. I thought I might have restless leg syndrome. I am going to stop Vytorin for a few weeks and see if this muscle pain decreases

I was on Lisonpril for three months, then switched to Diovan due to the cough caused by Lisonpril...but at least I could read that side effect in the prescription warning. There was no warning of weight gain with my current prescription of 1/2 pill a day(180mg). I have been on Diovan for three months and have cut caffeine and increased my exercise. At first the drug lowered my bp from 150/102 to 125/85 which I thought was great..but my bp has been slowly increasing. I started at 130 lbs and am now 150lbs...I have gained over 20lbs since starting the drug. I've experienced painful gas and insomnia. I am only 41 and two flights of stairs and I'm out of breath. A drug you take to make you feel better shouldn't make you feel worse. I'm going to try to use more natural methods.
