I have been taking Lamictal for just over a year. Some of the side effects have been noticable for a few months, but others seem to just be appearing and getting worse. I have loss of balance and coordination, my vision is gettng worse, I have a hard time concentrating and finding the right words, I forget how to spell common words, I have short-term memory loss and feel spacey. I can always figure it out, but it takes longer. I began doing Pilates every day about 3 months ago and still cannot get the routine down and it is just as hard for my muscles as it was in the beginning. I can't seem to lose weight and have horrible acne on my face. I had 2 seizures before beginning Lamictal and am suppose to be on it for 2 years before trying to go off. Without insurance though, I am unable to do follow-ups w/ my neurologist and she seems unconcerned and unsypathetic to my situation, not giving me the time of day. She never even told me all of these side effects could develop, much less that they might begin long after I started taking Lamictal. Has anyone had these side effects after having taken the Lamictal for so long then stopped taking the Lamictal? Will these side effects go away after I stop taking it??

I was put on levaquin for a 5 day treatment at 500mg. for a uti. On the 3rd day I was having pain in my upper arm by my nuscle and shoulder. The next day I woke up out of my sleep with bad pain in my knees. I did not finish the medicine. It has been 48 hours since I stopped and I have pain in my arms and fingers. My legs knees hurt and pain in my stomach. I did not relize these were side effects until I read this post. I had headaches and pain in my back and stomach but I thought it was from the UTI. Just typing hurts know. I wish people would post follow ups to give some of us some hope. THe pharmacist told me I should feel better in a couple of days, but after reading this I am alittle nervous. Today my arms are worse, and that is after 48 hours after taking the medicine

I have exactly the same side effects ... dizziness, light headedness, ataxia, weakness, migraine headaches and nausea. I walk into walls, lose my balance and stagger. I take 150mg all at one, at night. I've been taking it for over a year but just recently have started experiencing all the effects I just listed

I was on Yasmin for a month and a half with little side effects (lack of sex drive, that's about it). After the middle of the second pack, I started having heart palpitations. They went away the first time.
The second time it happened, I had to go to the ER. My heart was racing 200 beats per minute! I had a spend a WEEK in the hospital. The only thing that has changed in my life was the birth control. My gynocologist said it couldn't be the Yasmin.
The hospital said I can feel free to quit taking the Yasmin (which I did) but they didn't know if that was what was causing my problems.
My friend is a pharmicist and she has found some possible links to Yasmin and heart palpitations. Someone on these boards touched on it... it had to do with postassium levels getting depleted by the Yasmin and the heart racing accodingly. There's a dieretic (?) in the birth control that is supposed to keep water retention down. But, it can deplete your potassium levels which can cause heart palpitations.
The doctors diagnosed me with PSVT. I have two follow-ups the next two weeks.
I think it was the Yasmin and I hope that since I have stopped, the heart problems will, too. I'm on four pills a day and I hate it.

-- By 33yroldwmn | Reply | (1) replies | Private Message meI began taking YASMIN 06/08, felt o.k. til beginning of July/08 when i switched to OCELLA. I began to experience some strange symptoms. I had eye pain, nausea, blurred vision, vomiting. 08/08 began getting severe headaches which lasted all day. then the eye pain became more severe. ended up going to several medical doctors, put on antibiotics, cat scan, just got my blood checked yesterday for graves disease /thyroid and addisons disease! i was thinking tonight what is making me feel this way... it dawned on me that i had a change in birth control and that is when all these symptoms started to occur. I really believe this is the answer, i don't think i have any disorder/disease i believe this pill has some serious problems. i fear that we will soon hear that it is pulled from the market due to some disease/disorder inducing side effects! I can not believe i found this-probably saved my life or maybe prevented something horrible from happening to me. i just hope i don't have any lasting effects from it:( i am still awaiting my test results...
