My story is very similar to the others here. I had taken Lactaid a few times without any problems. I did take two a little over a week ago with dinner and about an hour later I was violently vomiting. I had never been that sick before. It continued for a couple of hours, and I finally went to sleep with terrible pains all over. It took a few days to feel like myself again. I thought originally it must have been food poisoning from the restaurant. Then the other day I took two more with breakfast and the same thing only worse happened. I vomited so hard I thought my back would break. Bed rest for the rest of the day with chills and pain. Now its my third day out and I'm still feeling nauseated and weak. Pepto Bismol is not helping either. I just want to feel better again. I got rid of all the Lactaid in the house as two of my children take it also, but there is no way I'm taking a chance with them. I felt like I was going to die from poisoning or something, I can't imagine a child going through this.

I started taking Lisinopril last March, and my monthly cycle went from a normal cycle to a debilitating three day pain fest.
The first month I had a uterine cramp like comparable to labor that lasts for three straight days. The second month I added a sharp pain in my stomach that compared to a severe food poisoning episode but the only symptom was the pain.

This continued through June, when I asked my physician to switch me to a different medication although he did not think the side effects I was describing was related to the Lisinopril. The next month the uterine cramp was less severe but I also was treating with Midol which may have been the reason.

Last month, at my six month check my blood pressure was still not where my doctor want to see it, so he put me back on Lisinopril and kept me on the Hydrochlorothiazide, now I am on two medications!

After reading this site, it occurs to me that my shoulder where I had surgery two years has also been acting up the last six months as well. I have been doing PT again after the pain increased and I asked my surgeon what to do. He made not connection to the medication I am taking as a possible source.

The only other thing is I have lost some weight, with relative easy (not usual for me). Which I had attributed to a change of eating pattern due to my new work schedule.

All things to consider now that I have read this website.

Thanks to all who share, this is the best way to understand that everyone does react differently and you have really pay attention to what is going on with your own body when you are taking any medication.

I felt extremely hyper after receiving a dosage of Reglan. I was in the hospital after suffering a terrible bout of food poisoning and I became extremely nauseated. The physician gave me this medication in order to control the nausea. After about 10 minutes, I felt worse than before going to the hospital. I felt extremely hyper and could not sit still. I felt extremely terrified and did not know why...I felt like I wanted to take off running and throw myself in front of the nearest car or jump from the roof of a building. I started crying uncontrollably. I told my doctor how I felt and she stated "some people experience this feeling...about 1 in 1000 people". I began to wonder why such a drug was on the market if this is what happens. I'm wondering how many people have felt similar and actually acted on their feelings.

The scary thing is this...I believe the estimate of 1 in 1000 people suffering side effects is wrong. While at the hospital a nurse told me there was another patient who experienced the very same experiences on the morning my dosage was injected.

I have never felt so awful in my life and I'm hoping there will be a class action lawsuit for this drug.

I was prescribed /TWP DS 800-160 for a urinary infection. I have taken this medication before with no ill effects, but this time my hands itch all the time and I have a red, itchy rash on my back and stomach. I finished the prescription today, ao hope it goes away and so far the UTI I had is better. At least I don't have as much pain, but it required two prescriptions before is worked. I have taken this before with no noticeable effects. Is this serious?

Wow, i am so intrigued that i found this website. I just started taking femcon FE. I just started my brown pills yesterday. I just had a baby girl in May. The past few weeks have been horrible for me and now im wondering if it has to do with this pill. I had what i thought was food poisoning about 2 weeks ago. Horrible throwing up and diarrhea which i still have up to this very day. Then last Sunday I began to start feeling very itchy in the vaginal area, which i still have. i bought an otc treatment for yeast infections but i have never had one b4 so it said not to use it. Now im gonna have to go back to the doctor to get checked out.

I have been on Femcon for about 9 months. I get my period a week early, which is very annoying (why be on the pill if you can't predict when you will get your period??). I also have had absolutely no sex drive. I have tried to blame other factors for this, but I really think it is related to this pill. I will stop using this pill and see if life goes back to normal! I can see why it prevents pregnancy! If women would rather have a root canal then sex, they sure aren't going to risk getting pregnant! Also, I also had an attack of what I thought was food poisoning. It was more likely a gallstone issue. I see a doctor this week about that. Thanks, Femcon...

Get the heck off this pill when you can! Do NOT let anyone, your doctor or anyone else, tell you to take it. 3 weeks were horrible enough coming off of Yaz which was bad as well. Here is the list of awful and unbearable side effects that they you get from this chewable pill that has iron pills as the last week:
Headache, fatigue, moodiness, depression, anxiety, feeling jumpy and scared easily, nausea, constipation, night sweats, facial and body acne, stomach pains, anger, irritability, oversensitivity, etc. I am a happy and laughable girl and have been brought down by this pill. I feel like I can't breathe and have a constant lump in my throat! I have cried at the drop of a hat and my finance has said that I am different. This is supposed to be best time of my life planning my wedding and I am miserable! HORRIBLE PILL- this should be taken off the market ASAP!

I have been on Yasmin for three months. I love the fact that my skin has cleared up, my hormones are stabilized, etc. I have PCO and this is a very good pill for people with PCO (the have a lack of progesterone). My headaches are gone, I have more energy and NO depression.

However, I also have IBS and in the last month, I have been having the MOST HORRIBLE IBS problems. At first I thought I was having stomach flu problems or food poisoning, until it started happening once a week. I am not sure if it due to the pill or my diet. But it appears that other people are also having this problem. I am not going to stop the pill. Instead there is a new pill out for IBS and I will try that first and see if it calms my colon down. I am also going to look for something similiar to Yasmin because I love all of the other positive side effects.

I was on the NuvaRing for 2.5 years... and am loving life since I have been off of it. Every month I had the same symptom. My intestines burned and felt so raw, as if a wire bristle brush was being used to scrub them out. Every month for about 3-4 days I was out of commission, without fail. I would wake up in the middle of the night sweating, and felt extreme nausea and burning in the intestinal region. It was as if I had a stomach virus every month. I really did not think that the ring could cause the symptoms that I was having. When I researched on the net, I only came across positive testimonials. Well, after last month of faux food poisoning, my husband and I agreed I needed to take the ring out. I have had a full month without the ring and have not had another monthly bout since. I have not read about this symptom from other Nuva users, but maybe this will help any other women out there that are currently going through the same monthly symptoms. Another added bonus to switching methods is the increase of libido. I know that every woman's body is different, however, I myself have tried several birth control methods and didn't think that such a low dose combination (Nuva) could have such a high impacting syptom on my life. If any other questions, I can be reached at ******

HI everyone especially Tiffany,
You sound just like me. I was on it for 3 yrs. and the last 6 months were the worst. I didn't know that I was sooo sick b/c of the pill until I stopped it of course. Tiffany, your symptoms are what I went through the last 6 months I was on it. I went to so many Dr's until I found this post.

I too went to the e.r b/c I almost passed out while shopping. I was nauseaus, had diarrhea, severe anxiety, I would have to pull my car over and sit for a while. The last week I was on it, I had 6 panic attacks in one day. Horrible depressive thoughts, and I'm soo not that type, It was so absurd, by this time I was so used to them I could try to control them a bit.

I thought I had food poisoning at least 8 times in one month, b/c I woke up vomiting and the other for no reason. (now I know it was the b.c) but at that time I didn't.

I really feel great now. I've been off for 4 months had 3 normal periods, (or what I should call yamin periods) and now I am almost 2 weeks late. I can only imagine it's on it's way. If you see from some of my previous posts, I have all of the signs, but who knows.

There are still times where I will have a slight leg pain, or slight slight numbing, but I know why it's happening and it is totally livable and I"m just happy to be here. By now I'm sure the Dr's would have had me all dopped up on some form of drug.

Thank goodness for this post. Just remember we were putting a drug in our bodies for so many years. Me only Yasmin for 3 yrs but I've been on some form of b.c since I was a teen.

So keep your head up and when you feel like shi* read these posts. I read very less frequently now, (however due to my lateness I've been checking every day) but when I first stopped taking it I checked and posted every day. It's really great encouragement no matter what stage of recovery we are in!
Oh yeah one more thing, my fatique got so bad I would fall asleep at 7 p.m and sleep until 8 am and still have a hard time getting up however, it was a very restless hot sweating sleep.

Thanks to everyone,
Hill

I have been on Yasmin for 2 1/2 years and off of it for 5 months. The only side effects I experienced when going on the pill were thinning hair, severe depression (and I do mean SEVERE) mood swings, panic attacks and bad anxiety attacks. I've always been a very social person and never had problems like this before. I felt as if i was living my whole life in a cloud. My husband and I decided that I should get off of them. However the side effects of discontinuing Yasmin have been worse. I have been sick for the past 1 1/2 months with what I thought was bad food poisoning and gastroenteritis. But now that I have read your other posts I realize that it's all side effects. I went to ER twice, the first time told me that my potassium levels were extremely low (and no I don't have kidney problems) and I was dehydrated. I had severe diarhea, severe nausea, depression, I felt like my whole body was shaking, and I felt like I was going crazy. I hadn't had much of an appetite which is very unusual for me. I got my period on time the first month after stopping, but then my 4th and 5th month I was 2 weeks late both times. I've never had irregular periods since I started at age 12. I'm still dealing with dizziness, motion sickness, anxiety depression. I occasionally have nausea in the mornings and afternoons. When they tell you that your body returns to normal about 3 months after you stop taking it, is not true. I'm into my 6th month and I still do not feel like myself. I'm so glad I found this website because it's literally like I'm reading my own testimonial because all of our symptoms are so much alike. I will never take the pill again. Thank you for all of your posts regarding this and hopefully everyone is on the road to recovery from taking this pill.
Tiffany

Hi Julia,
I had a lot of the symptoms you have had and more. I was on it for about 3-4 yrs. I have been off now for 4 months. But while on it in the begining it was great, however it slowly crept up on me and turned horrible. I had severse shortness of breath, chest pains, leg cramps, arm, leg and face numbness. Was super dizzy all of the time. I could no longer run which I did 5 days a week, it was an effort to drag myself out of bed to just walk. If you read a lot of the old posts you will find a lot of similar posts to yours. Oh and I also couldn't tolerate anything like pizza or junk food, however I gained about 30 lbs. in 3 months. It was really crazy how it happened especially since I couldn't really keep anything down. I was constantly having to go to the bathroom. I also had what I thought was food poisoning about 6 times, however now I know it was the darn pill.
so if you are not already I would go off of it.

I have been off the pill now for one week exactly. I had 3 weird attacks on sat. I guess they are panic attacks. Where my face, leg lips and arm go numb, then I get really foggy. It lasts about 10 minutes, and I can tell when they are coming on. I just breathe really heavily and slowly and they eventually go away. When I woke up sat. I could tell I was going to get one b/c my leg was numb. Is it normal to experience more anxiety once you are off the pill. Also I woke up last night at about 3 in the morning and was so sick I vomited 2 times. Also has anyone experienced this. Come to think of it. This used to happen every now and then when I was on the pill. I think it was mostly after I drank. Not a lot, but if I had a few glasses of wine. I always thought it was just food poisoning, but I guess it could be the yasmin. I did have a few glasses of champagne last night celebrating valentines day. Has anyone experience this while on the pill or after.
Again, I still have the anxitey, numbness, and chest pains. The numbness and chest pains, aren't as bad as they were while on yasmin. But the anxiety seems to be getting a little bit worse. I have also been taking an aspirin every day just in case there is a chance I have a clot.

I'm 23 and am taking Omnicef capsules for a chronic throat infection. The first night I took the medicine I was up vomiting and then had diarrhea for 2 days. I wasn't sure if it was because of food poisoning or the drug, but regardless, it was horrible. I've also had chronic feelings of nausea and loss of appetite. It's day 7 of the meds on a 10 day regime, and the nausea is making me depressed. My throat is feeling much better though.
