I have been symptomatically ill with Hepatitis C for about 15 years and I was in for a real 'hum dinger' when I took 300 mg of Erythromycin 3 times a day for 3 days. I started getting diarrhea and a general malaise. I stopped taking it and have been eating fresh scallops, potatoes, and tofu. My salad and herb intake has not been up to par and I have to get the fresh veggies back into my diet. But the point is, if you Dosing: Erythromycin may be taken with or without food. Erythromycin is metabolized mainly by the liver and caution should be used in patients with abnormal liver function.
or a loved one has an abnormal liver condition do not take Erythromycin.

I am 48 years old and have been on 10mg of Lipitor for over a year. I have had bloating, constipation and occasional muscle cramps. I can't say for sure that this was all caused by Lipitor, but after reading so many posts here, it got me thinking about it. Recently I began experiencing bleeding gums, which I've never had before. Has anyone else had problems with their gums since they began Lipitor? I plan to stop taking it and begin exercising more regularly. Also I'm getting off red meat and eating more fish and chicken and fresh veggies. Perhaps my cholestoral will lower without the aid of drugs. Any thoughts?

My new doctor put me on Lipitor and after taking it 5 days I developed a redness and swelling under my left eye. I also felt out of it and went from feeling really good to barely being able to do anythng. I quit taking it immediately and by the next day or so I was my old self. My doctor does not listen to me when I try to explain that I have strange physical reactions to most meds. He wants me to change my medicines, but it took me too long to find the ones I can tolerate. My LDL is not good but I'm exercising (walking) daily for 35-45 minutes and drinking more water, eating oatmeal at breakfast, cutting out all sugar, eating lots of fresh veggies and fruits and I feel better than I've ever felt.
