I was prescribed Lupron after a laparoscopy to diagnose endo between my freshman and sophore years in college. I was never told of any psychological side effects, even though the first page of my chart has a lot of info about my history of depression and anxiety. In addition to the night sweats and hot flashes, the depressive side effects were so bad that I dropped out of college (I was a stright-A student the year before.) It took me 2 1/2 years to get back to school, and I'll be paying off the $12,000 for a semester that I spent almost completely in bed. I'm a nursing student planning to work in women's health care, and will advise any of my patients to seriously research this medication before listening to their doctor. My pain never did go away while on the medication and was actually worse later and caused me to go back in for surgery.

My daughter received her first shot on 6/20/2007 when she was 14 years old and second shot on 12/27/2007. During this time frame she complained of having headaches daily. On 1/8/2008 my daughter had a seizure. She had been a healthy, dancer and scholastic student. Since her shot she has had a total of 12 seizures and has been in and out of hospitals numerous times. She was diagnosed with epilepsy in March of 2008. She has been on Topamax, Keppra, Lamictal and Zonegran and continues to have seizures. The side effects from the medications that my daughter has suffered with along with depression has been tremendous.
We thought we were protecting our daughter and found that we have only hurt her. The doctors need to stop pushing the shot and it needs to be taken off the market. Because of this shot she has to be dependent on more drugs. She has missed so much school, which were important years (freshman & sophmore) that she will never get back. How many more girls need to suffer!

I'm 18 and a freshman in college. I received my second Gardisil shot a month ago. Within the past three weeks I have been experiencing awful headaches every night, extreme tiredness and diarrhea. I have also been extremely emotional lately.
My sister who is 15 in high school has also received the Gardisil shot. However, after passing out upon receiving the shot and due to difficulty breathing, my Mom did not allow her to get the second shot. My sister has been in and out of the doctors office and emergency room several times due to what doctors believe was a pulled muscle or inflamed chest cavity.
However, after reading the similar side effects that other girls have been experiencing, I am sure that both of our side effects are due to the Gardisil shot.

I have been on the NuvaRing for about 6 months. I previously had the Mirena, which I also hated because I had every side effect in the book plus a couple more. I NuvaRing is alright, but I haver noticed that my skin is terrible. I have really dry irritating patches on both of my cheeks. I know that I am more irritated and moody, now by reading the posts I know that cause, here I thought I just hated my husband :). I also hate the discharge that comes with the NuvaRing. I actually didn't use the NuvaRing for one month because I never got the Rx in time and I didn't have any problems, life was good. I really don't trust myself without BC because I already have two kids and my last child was the definition of it only takes one time to get pregnant. I agree with the person that said they are ready for male BC.

I have read a lot of these blogs and I am seeing that many other people have the same side effects. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism when I was in 6th or 7th grade I think and I am now a high school senior so about 5 years taking Synthroid. the doctors said that my antibodies had completely destroyed my thyroid gland so I wasn't getting any of the hormones I needed which became very noticeable when I started gaining weight and loosing energy in 5th grade. I haven't really seen any weight gain in a while but I still look like I am overweight. I am 5'6 and 130 lbs so I am about average. Side effects that are also occurring are rapid mood changes, one minute I am happy and something sad happens or I think about something and ill be tearing up. I feel depressed a lot. I am currently on 150 mcg. also during 9th and 10th grade I was put on this drug to stop my puberty so that I could grow more while on the Synthroid I guess it helped a little with height but I still look like a freshman. I don't know if I should stop taking it or keep taking it because I stopped for about a month once and started getting really sick, I would get really bad nose bleeds at random, had constant migraines and felt sick to my stomach. I started taking the Synthroid again and felt fine. I really don't know what to do.

My daughter a freshman in college was just prescribed Zantac & Zytrec. She has been on the meds. for about 5months, and is extremely anxious, depressed, crying and very emotional. She was not the first semester, but this second semester she thought she was losing her mind. Until I did some research and found out what was going on,she wanted to quit school, after receiving a full scholarship to attend a private college. Now our next step is to regroup with her physician and find an alternative.Once discussing this with my daughter she really understands that this was exactly what is going on with her.I was so scared for her, but now that we have the information I think we can get through this.

To everyone who is taking Desogen....STOP immediately!! I had a DVT in my leg because of this junk!!! NO birth control pill is worth your life!! I am now in the middle of being diagnosed with a possible benign liver tumor which could also be caused by the pill. I always knew there was a risk of blood clots with any bc pill but NO ONE ever told me that desogen almost TRIPLES your risk of blood clots!!!
