I started reading the posts with all the side effects and kept thinking I'm not having any of these problems, except a slight increase in the number of pimples I get - then someone mentioned how they're tired constantly no matter how much sleep they get. My doctor's been jumping through hoops trying to figure out what's wrong with me and now it looks like it might just be the frickin' Mirena! I've had it for three and a half years and the worst side effects I've thought I had was cramping around the time I usually get my period (something I've NEVER had before - I was always one of the lucky ones) and my skin was oilier. But the exhaustion and increase in my Bipolar symptom may be side effects too? I need to get this stupid thing out.

Monthly wicked migraines, right before period starts. Sometimes lasting on and off for 2 1/2 days. I had one so bad I had to go to the ER. I've never had problems with migraines before in my whole life. A few were very bad and makes me not want to do anything all day. I went to the neurologist just to get a pain medication for this.
Also was diagnosed with allergies last summer because I had 2 bad sinus infections.
Recently I have started to have acid reflux every night and now sometimes in the mornings. This sucks!! I am getting this removed.
I did several internet searches over the past several months and all these symptoms are caused by progestin (levonogestrol). This is not worth it.
I've had this thing in for over a year now, but all these symptoms appeared after getting this thing in.
Ive also been very moody around the time of the month, super irritable and bitchy.
My gyne suggested to take another drug to counteract, (basically prozac with another name) but that's like taking speed to counteract a downer. No thanks!!!!!!!!!!
I got this thing put in because of heavy periods, but it is totally NOT WORTH IT!! My health has suffered because of this.

Femcon Fe gave me a pulmonary embolism (blood clot in my lung) when I was barely on it for 3 months. I spent four days in the hospital and went home on coumadin for about a month.

i have been on prednisone for over a year now for ITP. i started taking 150mg then 140 then 130 etc. i hate it so badly. i am not the same person. the doctors are trying to wean me off it but then something happens and i get bumped up to taking more again. at first my face swelled up like a balloon and i put on weight. i now go to the gym almost everyday and have lost it. i could not drive at night because i couldnt see properly. i had just given birth to my first child so i was extreemly emotional and cranky. i used to be a happy person now im irritable and have no patience. i used to get 'the wobblys' i couldnt walk straight and fell into walls. i experienced so many side effencts i cant remember them all. now they are apart of my life im so used to it. i dont even know whats real with my body and whats the pred. i hate it. but i cant be on it forever so if i dont get better real soon its chemotherapy for me. woo frickin hoo. good luck everyone.

When i started taking this it seems ok, then after a couple of days I felt really sick and REALLY tired to the point that i actually fell asleep on my desk at work!!! Anyway, I decided to stick with it and thought that maybe I just wasnt getting enough sleep... a month later I noticed that I was drinking stupid amounts of water and the problem was getting worse and worse, I thought it was the air con at work so I complained!
-- By niki23 | Reply | Private Message meAnother month on and things were insane, one day I think I drank about 7 liters of water and still felt thirsty and was constantly peeing! Enough was enough, I have just stopped taking it and hope that I feel better soon, I have checked my blood sugar which is fine so its not that thats causing it and I did have a few days where I felt better and oddly these were during my pill break!!!!!!!!
I feel a little angry that the packet doesn't actually tell you that this pill is a frickin DIURETIC specifically designed to stop you gaining water weight!
