THIS IS HORRIBLE !!! Have severe UTI . (1st ever) . Picked up RX at 10:40 a.m. Took 1 pill at 11:00 a.m. Started off with sever nausea, belching, stomach cramps. Later had chest pains and shortness breath and now itching and it's 7:32 p.m. Trying not to go to ER. One pill. Can't wait till this stuff is out of my system. If it works for you, that is great. Not meant for everyone. It's Friday night, no relief i sight and the doctors office is closed for the weekend. Since 1st, and hopefully only uti, has anyone who used macrobid for uti , mind suggesting a better RX.
Thank you :)

Last week I had an issue with my INR - it has always been unstable, but this time was weird. My INR had been 6 and so I stopped the warfarin for 4 days, and went back on my regular 2 mg dose. Then we went on holiday to Washington DC for a week. 3 days in, my pee was the colour of cherry kool aid. Went to the local hospital (thank god for travel insurance). My INR was 7.89 - In the US this is considered critical and I was admitted, and treated with Vitamin K and 2 units of plasma. Within 8 hours my INR had dropped to 1.8 - now too low. The next day down to 1.25, and a week later I am still 1. I am taking fragmin now until I can get my INR theraputic again but Fragmin shots are even worse than warfarin.

An ultrasound showed now issues with my bladder or kidneys, but I do not understand why I was bleeding.

Guess that this just shows the importance of regular checking of INR levels while on warfarin.

I am taking Macrobid and feel just fine. I started taking it on Friday night after visiting the doctor for a UTI. It's Monday night and I feel good apart from some vaginal spotting.

I posted last Friday night about my 4 year old daughter's Singulair experience. Just wanted to add a note that my daughter was actually on it for 16 days - forgot to include the free sample. Her last dose was last Friday. She had one more hallucination experience on Saturday evening. Sunday she developed an unexplainable itchy rash behind her ears and along her jawline. I gave her some Benadryl. Monday morning the rash is not as severe or itchy. This evening she is in very good spirits and ate quite well too.

I am also a victim of having the Kenalog injection administered over 8 months ago to alleviate poison ivy itching symptoms. Prior to having the injection, I was not informed of any side effects. Not only did the injection not alleviate the symptoms, but has resulted in a discolored and uncomfortable indentation in my left buttock area and psychological anguish because of disfigurement of my body. It is 8 months later and the indent appears to continue to deepen and lengthen. The dermatologist who administered the injection stated that there was nothing I could do to reverse such effects. I reported my case to the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) Med Watch. I urge others to report their adverse event to the FDA--just click on this link and complete the form: http://www.fda.gov/medwatch/. The FDA is responsible for assuring safety of medications. Therefore, it is imperative that the FDA recognize the adverse effects to provide any credibility to a class action suit. Please consider forwarding your case to the FDA to force them into action and begin addressing these atrocities. Such documented cases and recognition by the FDA will provide leverage for attorneys in pursuit of a class action suit.

I posted about a week ago, and have since gone off the pill. The last night I took it was last Monday, 4/14. I'm already feeling noticeably better. Still not 100%, but better. Got my period Friday night and was an emotional wreck that night and Saturday (uncontrollable crying to the point of burst blood vessels in the skin around my eyes), but yesterday was good. Today I'm feeling mellow and tired, but no anxiety, minimal headache, decreased dizziness, and much more clear-headed. Will continue to post about my progress. Best of luck to you all!

My story is very sadly similiar to enough's story

I have also been following these posts since the story broke
My son is 11 yrs old has been on singulair for almost 1 yr now for allergies after suffering a SI that lasted over 2 months

He was dx'd with ADHD & ODD at age 4 & they have been trying to rule out bipolar for the last few yrs But Can't, so he has been on a ton of meds!!!
I have noticed that this last year has been worse though & he almost had to be admitted numerous times within this past year We kept switching the ADHD meds & trying Bipolar meds nothing seemed to work, So last friday night (almost 1 wk ago) the day I heard about this, I stopped the singulair But he also started a new bipolar med the same day & HE IS A NEW KID!!! so now I'm stuck with the terrible task to find out if it's a combo of stopping the singulair & the new med working or stopping the singulair & maybe he doesnt even need the new med? IDK right now BUT I DO know that Something is working!!! So I have decided that next Friday put him back on the singulair for a few days to see what happens?? we talked about it & he knows I will not punish him for anything he does while he is on it I just NEED to know if this med Made him worse!!!!!! That way I can take some kind of action here, I just would like to know why the heck would they put a kid who already has mental health issues on a med that could make those issues WORSE????
I'm positive that singulair did not cause his probs since they started way b4 him being on this med But I have a gut feeling that singulair has made his probs 10X worse!!

his S/A's have been the same as e/o has already described

itching (which I know for a fact was from singulair b/c that is gone now)
mood swings
crying
angry
crabby
irritable
violent
not sleeping well (even worse than what he had already)
aches & pains everywhere

I always dismissed the complaints or assumed it was one of his other meds causing them, I never ever in a million years would of thought it was the singulair!!!!

I held off on posting b/c I wanted to see if taking him off would work?? IDK for sure yet but I will come back in a week or so & let u all know

I'll pray for all the familes involved in this I'm still kind of shocked by it all but felt the need to share my story also

(I tried posting yesterday guess it didnt work??)

My 9 yo daughter has been off and on Singulair for several years trying to get her athsma and allergies regulated. She has been put on zyrtec, and claritin and it has been a constant battle with her. She has been in and out of children's mental health facilities 3 times in the past year and has been diagnosed as having ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder), Mood Disorder, Depression, Severe ADHD, Bi-Polar as well as ADO (Adjustment Disorder) and emotional disorder, just to name some of the diagnosis she has had. SHE IS ONLY NINE YEARS OLD. Due to ALL these other diagnosis, she has been on and off so many different medications that I cannot help but wonder if some of these diagnosis are due to her taking the Singulair. When she was taking the SINGULAIR, she could not sleep at night, she complained about her stomach hurting all the time, she was very angry, emotional, and cried very easily for no reason at all. I have not given her any SINGULAIR since I first heard about all this stuff two days ago and can already see a difference. The fact that these people are doing this to our children infuriates me and something needs to be done!!!!!!!!

I am devastated!! Everything that I am reading about your children is describing my son. He has been on Singulair since "06 and was hospitalized for 10 days in '07 for suicide thoughts and possible attempt. Before '07 and singulair he was happy, popular and class favorite. He was very charming and played well with others. After '07 and the singulair, he became very angry and defensive towards everyone. He isolated himself and had a bad attitude. We longed to just see a smile and guess what? We saw one last night! He has not been on Singulair since friday night. 3-28-08. I can see a difference in him now. Thank God for all of you sharing your experiences and lets all pray that they will not have longterm problems from all of this. God Bless you! Reecesmom

I have been reading all of the responses for a few days now. My 9 year old son has been on Singular for a few years now. I took him off Singular on Friday night. He has always been my moody and difficult one - not bad, he was very sensitive. He was hard to wake up in the morning for school. He was often grumpy and would cry at the drop of a hat. Some days he was more pleasant than others, but we never knew what would set him off. Some days he could be downright nasty. Little things would get under his skin and annoy him - especially anything his younger brothers did! He would cry for no reason and when asked would say, "I down know why I am crying, I just don't know."

When he woke up on Sunday morning, he was different - much happier and easy going. Throughout the day we saw a different child. He has gotten up each morning without complaint, got ready for school, packed his bag, and got a snack for the day. When he couldn't find his school bag, he didn't flip out and blame everyone else (which would have been the normal reaction.) Instead, he found it by himself! He is no longer arguing about everything. He is nice to be around.

I'm still holding my breath and waiting for something to happen. My husband is convinced that Singular has to be the cause - what else would have caused this dramatic shift in his behavior. I want to see how he is over the next few weeks. As each day passes, I am believing more and more that this drug caused these behaviors and getting angrier and angrier

My child was prescribed Omnicef for an ear infection on Tuesday and we ended up taking him off on Friday night. He is normally a happy, hyper, normal 3 yr old but he became very mean!! We didn't know what was going on with him. We just thought that maybe he was acting out, until we talked to some one who knows about food allergies who asked if anything was different in his diet. The only thing that was different was he started this new anti-biotic. He had an allergic reaction to Amoxicillin and we told the doctor. but he still put him on this medication anyway. Our son changed so much in this last week it is just unbelievable. On the second day of this medication he actually tried to bite some older gentleman at a dental clinic. Just not his normal behavior. He didn't sleep well, would literally kick, hit, punch, pinch and bite us and his siblings. Since we took him off this medicine he is finally acting like his normal only self. We had not realized until he started to giggle about something that he had not laughed since he started his medicine. There is no way that he will ever take this medicine again and after reading all the information on OMNICEF I do not understand why they keep pushing this drug since there are so many harmful side effects (half of which they do not list)!! I just hope that this has not done any other damage to my son internally as well...

I started taking Yasmin this past sunday, so far, so good...reading all these posts worry the crap out of me...i'm only really on this because i have really BAD pms, which people i know including my boyfriend thought it could be PMDD because how "crazy" i'd get, bad cramps and my period sometimes likes to show up almost whenever even when i track it....i'm a moody person already and so far i feel pretty good, pretty stable which is nice, i guess the only complaint is that i'm kinda constipated and i'm exhausted, but i'm unsure if this has anything to do with this pill or not. i travel constantly and eat bad food since i'm away at college so sometimes i have some issues....oh my sex drive is usually pretty fine, i haven't noticed anything there yet, i still think about doing things and want to...so, my question is what should i do? shall i continue to use it and see what happens, or should i stop it or get a different pill?? i go to therapy and i am also making sure that my boyfriend and immediate friends notice if i act a little stranger than usual....
and i was on a different pill back when i was 15 and i don't remember much of it besides i don't think i had any side effects so i've had a little experience with birth control before...

I'm a 36 yo. female weighing in at 119 lbs. About four (4) weeks ago, I found out that my cholesterol is 221/154 so my doctor started me on Vytorin (10/20 mg). I started to - noticeably - not feel like myself about 2-3 weeks ago, but I thought it was just 'female' sickness. Once that factor played itself out I got concerned because I was progressively feeling worse. In general my physical symptoms were feeling extremely tired, nauseous, weakness, constipation, gas, diarrhea, dizzy & lightheaded and inability to concentrate and/or focus. On the 'mental' side, I have a history of panic attacks, depression and social anxiety disorder but they have all been kept under control with medication - that is, until I started taking Vytorin. I'm literally known for my friendliness and sweetness, etc. but for the past couple of weeks I've been in a constant bad mood, cranky, very easily annoyed about things and at people, depressed, anxious and generally uninterested in things that normally excite me. This past Friday night I was, once again, very upset and depressed about how bad I felt and wondering what was wrong with me, etc., and it hit me. The only thing I've done different in/for the past month was the introduction of the Vytorin into my system. I found myself almost crying I was so relieved to have figured out what the problem was. It's been 2 days since I stopped taking the Vytorin and today has been the best I've felt - physically and mentally - in 3 weeks. Hopefully, I'll continue to get back to my 'old self'! (Thanks to everyone else for sharing their side effect(s) symptoms on this site. It helped me verify mine.)

I have been on the NV for about 5 mo.s now and had many of the same symtoms -- Very moody, emotional, headaches, depression and very tired. I also want to sleep all of the time I can sleep from Friday night until Monday morning - when I have to go back to work. I had a very sore and painful lower back. I have gained about 7 #'s and think of eating all the time. Also, when I first went on NV I had my period for 3 wks. Very uncomfortable and started to have allergic reaction to wearing pads for that length of time. Then one night I was having dinner with a girlfriend who happens to be a Phar. rep and she mentioned the 37 lawsuits againt NV. At this time I still didn't put the symtoms I was having with the NR but decided to do my own research and found myself on this webpage. Then it hit me after reading all of the posts - I should take this thing out! What a mess!

I've been taking 10mg of Lisinopril since 1/06 just before going to bed. I, too have experienced dizziness and fainting. Many nights when I've awakened to urinate, I've felt like I've been drunk (and I have not had any alcohol). However, last Friday night I woke around 1am extremely dizzy. I fainted after urinating. I've since readjusted my schedule of Lisinopril and am now taking it early in the morning. I'm also taking it with a full glass of water, have STOPPED taking potassium supplements and I am trying to drink more water during the day. I've not had an incident since I've readjusted, but remain concerned about the drug.

Oh my gosh!!! i am STUNNED looking at this page. I have been on Yasimin for about six months...and in that time everything has gone down hill. I haven't gone off yet b/c I honestly thought it there was something else wrong with me but I am getting off this pill quickly!
I was in the ER Friday night for chest pains...they did an ECG and chest xray and put it down to bad acid reflux as a result of anxiety! I have been complaining about dizziness and headaches for months and I too get sharp pains in my legs. I just can't believe this can all be linked to this pill! Can anyone tell me how long it takes before the symptoms go away? _Jackie

I just started Geodon two days ago. What a nightmare! I am a collegiate athlete, and I have no power nor will to train! The side effects are horrible! It's mostly what I've read on the net. (Intense) drowsiness, dry mouth, heart palpitations. Two nights ago, Friday night, I started with 80mg. Last night, the bottle (wrongly labeled) said to move to two pills at dinnertime. (160mg at once!) This morning's effects were worse. I made a decision to stop, since I've only taken it for a short period. Am I going to have the same withdrawl as others?

I started taking Levaquin on Friday evening at 8:00 p.m. because I had a urinerary infection. I attempted to go to bed on Friday night at around 11:00 p.m. and I started to twist and turn and become very restless. It was as if I had coffee before I went to bed and, of course, I did not. It was now 4:00 a.m. and I was still wide awake. The next day I took the pill at 2:00 p.m. hoping by taking it earlier in the day I wouldn't have a problem sleeping. Thank goodness I had no problem sleeping that night. I slept straight through the night. The 3rd day I took the pill at 8:00 p.m. again and again I had insomnia. Did you ever hear of someone having insomnia from Levaquin? Please advise.
Thank you.

Recently I was prescribed 500 MG of Levaquin daily for a bacterial infection. I took only ONE pill Friday night and the next morning my right ankle would not work. I could not walk and had extreme pain! I had not injured or strained my ankle...had never had any other problems with walking or joint pain. I called the on-call physician who said to go to an Urgent Care or an Emergency ward...(You can die in those places....very slowly LOL) I stopped the pills and the next day my ankle was fine. My Doctor switched me to Ceftin. The first doctor said it could NOT be the levaquin but my physician said it was a tendenitis caused by the levaquin and I should stay away from that "class" of antibiotics.

My daughter is 10 and was put on this drug for allergies and to be taken once a night at bedtime. She has been acting very strange and withdrawn for the last month or so and then this past Thursday night, she started hollering for me and her right arm was shaking uncontrollably and she was very startled and disoriented. She could not catch her breath, she felt faint and sick. After putting my daughter thru IVS, and MRI of the brain and a EEG of the brain waves. A neorologist diagnosed my daughter with partial seizure and said she definitely had a seizure. I found this out on Friday night after lengthy tests and then thrown to me medicine for seizures that my daughter may have to take the rest of her life. I can not help but think this is caused from Singulair and reading their side effects... If you have had any of these symptoms please let me know so we can together share this and find out more. I wonder if there is a lawsuit pending this ? I will be checking into this.

My doctor told me for the first two weeks I would feel groggy. So I took my first dose(15 mg.) on Friday night, knowing I didn't have any major plans on Saturday. Well it's a good thing I had no plans, I slept for 30 hours. Yes I do agree about the eating, in between my 30 hours of sleeping I ate tons of food mostly junk! When I did wake up, i was still in a daze, and very irritable(more than before) I'm tring this pill one more night. I'm cutting it in half and if that doesn't work, off to the doctor's I go.

For those who just started on this med just wait until u miss a day are two or been on it long enough u will experience something's u will not like trust us u will be trying to get off this evil drug!!! I've been on it for 2 year's and at first I didn't experience anything I thought it was great it worked for the hot flashes immediately but after my body got use to taking it the hot flashes came back along with virtigo more and more just wait and see!!! it wont be long, but anyway I quiet 3 day's ago and I feel great!!! the side of effect of dizzyness and me not being able to walk straight are there but the energy & me feeling myself again feels GREAT!!! Do not take this drug. I took it on a Friday night and I am still feeling side effects on a Monday morning. I feel like vomiting and like I'm going to faint. Not a pretty feeling.
Right after I took it I was hallucinating things like purple elephants and singing animals. It was very wierd. I also had no recollection of a phone call. You are completely out of control while on this medicine.
