I have been on this antibiotic for pneumonia for a week. I already have a possible ulcer and have a prescription for zantac. I am on 100mg BID for two weeks. Since taking this medication my ulcer has become much much worse with frequent heartburn and a lot of drowsiness/lethargy. I feel like I float through my day and am confused and using the wrong words a lot, and just not paying full attention to anything. I have a constant pain right under my sternum that flares up and a lot of mid to lower back pain, esp. at night. I have had a headache for the last four days. I did some research and found that ANTACIDS SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN WITHIN TWO HOURS OF DOXYCYCLINE!!! Bummer for me, since I have been drinking Mylanta like it was my only source of hydration.

I went on Yasmin a few months ago. I too had the anxiety/mood swings/low sex drive. It is so good to read what everyone has said b/c I now know that I wasn't crazy.I have a husband at home who wasn't helpful and a very active wonderful 2-year old that wasn't getting my full attention b/c I was fatigued all the time (This past month I filed for divorce). I saw a therapist in May b/c I felt angry, sad and hopeless all the time and didn't know how to deal with it. He wanted me to see a psychiatrist and possibly go back on anti-depressents. I was totally against that b/c of the horrible experience I had with Zoloft and with getting off of Zoloft (nightmare!) this past January. The other major side effects I had were night sweats, headaches, backaches every morning and leg cramps. You can imagine what the night sweats did to my sex life! One week after stopping Yasmin the nightsweats, headaches, backaches and leg cramps went away and I started enjoying my time with my daughter. I had been on another birth control pill before the yasmin. It was a progesterone only pill and I'm now wondering if that is what caused a lot of my problems as well (have had the night sweats since I went on the pill in 2004). I can't get the past 2 years back, but I'm wondering how life could have been without being on birth control pills.

As a pediatrician I write for Singulair every day.
The medication is for allergies.
Allergies cause a cascade of event that I will describe:
adenoidal swelling, leads to snoring + sleep disturbances. Poor sleep makes the child tired the next day leading to less attentiveness, hyperactivity and eventually acting out.
Almost 4 out of five kids with allergies have those subsequent symptoms, and more.
Over the years the child poor behavior his parents, teachers and peers respond of criticism/ ridicule, and punishments, cause the child to feel inadequate, embarrassed, frustrated and eventually depressed and suicidal.
Yes, Singulair does cause behavioral change but they appear within the first couple of pills, the rest is due to allergies and lack of medical care, i.e. sleep, Singulair, and Zyrtec deficiency.

Check it, it's true.
