Starting ever 3-4 months, then every 1 to 6 weeks with no known trigger I get a burning skin sensation that comes on suddenly and within 10 minutes or so I feel blow torch heat staring with neck and face then limbs and trunk that actually looks exactly like a sunburn, but feels about 10x worse and no peel afterwards. And my face muscles weaken, face droops, and I look 10 years older at it's peak. These "attacks" usually only last 30 to 45 minutes and driving with AC on full blast or taking a cold shower is the only relief during. All I know for sure is this never happened in my 44 years until prescribed gabapentin.(Nuerontin). I have GAD and my doctor suggested a 400 mg pill along with at Xanax 4x a day. I have tapered down to 1 gabapentin in the mornining and intend to quit in 10 days. Bad news is I've been at the low dose for the last 6 months out of the 18 months on it and the attacks haven't changed as hoped, in fact I'm writing because I just had one last Thursday and again today (Monday, only 4 days later)... a new record for shortest span between attacks. Could recognize no benefit or difference with regards to it's effectiveness treating my Generalized Anxiety Disorder. The Xanax as needed appears to be all I need alone. Only exception being that early on if I took my 100 mg Xanax w/out a gabapentin you could get drowsy while driving.... I break them in 1/2 doses or drink coffee, does the trick. I'm on only these two drugs and don't see the same side affects posted about Xanax so I deduced it's the gabapentin and am stopping it. Yes I too noticed occasional blurred vision, confusion, and munchies, reduced libido, more difficult or no orgasm as well on gabapentin. Too bad.

After reading the above stories, I now wonder if lisinopril is causing some of my symptoms of fatigue & strange muscle pain. I've been on 10mg/day of lisinopril for about a year. It got worse after I had anesthesia to remove a mole on my hip on June 1, 2006. I then got almost "paralysis" with extreme loss of energy and pain, especially in the left shoulder and right foot/calf/knee. I wonder if the combination of lisinopril with anesthesia caused this loss of energy. Before the surgery on 6-1-06, I could run perhaps 15-18 mph, getting a pulse of 140-147. After the surgery (I was told no heavy exercise for about 9 days afterwards), I would run at full blast, hitting a maximum of maybe 7 mph, and it was if my legs were in molasses and I could barely get my pulse up to 110! After nearly 2 months since the surgery, I can get my pulse up to 147 or so, but still have some "muscle" disturbance issues where I feel "constrained." If this does not go away soon, I'll lose another 10 pounds and stop the lisinopril!

I just had my Mirena put in yesterday1-17-08. It was very painful, the doctor had to dilate me 4 times, because she said I am small. Then she had trouble putting it in because of my retroverted uterus. about 30 minutes after I left I had cramps and my entire left leg hurt bad. My toes tingled, and my whole leg was in pain all night, today it has been off and on. Also I have noticed being short of breath. I am already regretting this decision. I have had no energy which is odd for me. I can feel the Mirena in there, I am worried that it will hurt me because I am smaller than average (4'11" and 104 lbs.) my husband and I have a 14 year old son and don't want anymore kids, but condoms are driving us crazy and it scares me because I am 35 and do NOT want to have a baby at my age. So I thought this would be perfect while we decide on something more permanent. I am going to give it one more week and If I don't feel any better it is coming out!!! I am so glad I found this site, because the doc already told me that my leg pain has nothing to do with the iud even though it started right after I got the iud, she told me to go to a chiropractor or my family doc, because she said it had to be something else. I don't believe her.
