I am 34 and have 2 children, 11 years apart. I decided on the Mirena to not have to worry about getting pregnant again anytime soon. In 6 weeks I had dropped half of the weight from pregnancy for it to come right back in 6 weeks, I received the Mirena at my 6 week check-up. My sex drive is null and void, it's like I have to psyche myself up for days and then 24-48 hours after sex I start to bleed which lasts for 2 damn weeks. Certain positions are painful. I had attributed all this to being older with my 2nd pregnancy and more stress with my oldest daughter and her schedule, both mine and my husbands full-time work schedules as well as coaching, but it seems as though this Mirena may be the cause. I was even told by my husband that I was not the same person he fell in love with. I know and feel my moods have been different but also attributed it to post-partum...IT's been almost a year since having my 2nd and still feel terrible. I think I will be making an appointment to have this removed ASAP. I am glad everyone was willing to share their experiences to confirm I am not secretly a nasty crazy, senile old witch!! To sum it up, here are all mi side effects:
-no sex drive
-depression
-cramping
-bleeding after sex
-fatigue
-aches
-headaches
-moody
-irritable

Hi, I was diagnosed Sept 06 with a small breast tumor following a routine mammogram I had a Lumpectomy and 4 lymph nodes removed in Oct 06 In January 07 I started 15 sessions of radiotherapy and then was started on ARIMIDEX which i have taken religiously each day for a year even though I have felt WEAK ,slight ACHES in my knees, TIRED, and WEARY, SINUS infections, BOWEL PROBLEMS, METALLIC TASTE all of which eventually in December got me down so much my GP signed me off work with depression and I am now taking fluoxetine to lift my mood I am convinced the Arimidex affected me and has played a big part in the way I was feeling for the last year I told my breast care nurse about this she advised me to stop taking it for 1 month I have not taken it for 4 days and feel a different person already having more energy and feeling like I can cope with life and full time work again Has anyone else experienced the same side effects as me? from Rose SNY
