Gallbladder problems symptoms and conditions

i am 17 years old and i have been on birth control for over 2 years,,
for the first 6 months i was on Yasmin && then my doctor wanted me to have a less hormonal birth control and switched me to yaz the only side affect was little weight gain...
i have depression but i never considered that it would be a cause of my birth control.
sometimes it gets bad... but my doctor said it was just an imbalance of serotonin in my body
my mom is extremely scared b.c she doesn't want me to have the dangerous side affects that she has recently been hearing about Yasmin... but are yaz and Yasmin the same?
i have been becoming increasingly worried about the birth control im on now.. i want to have children when i grow up. but after hearing that death could be a result of the birth control im on... im only 17 im just a kid...
im extremely scared now... although i haven't had any of the side affect i have read here.. im still extremely nervous especially since i have been on the drug for so long...

is this true? could i really die?... im terrified right now

I'm a 48 year old male in good physical condition and not overweight. I have genetic high cholesterol and started taking Zocor about 3 years ago. My cholesterol had climbed to 280 before I started the statin. I started with 5mg but my doctor quickly raised it to 10mg. After 6 weeks my cholesterol was down to 180! Yippee! The only side effects I noticed at first was swollen eyelids in the morning. After about 18 months my cholesterol had climbed to about 225 so my doctor raised the dose to 20mg. About 3 months later I started getting abdominal pain and tightness in my chest. My doctor thought I had gallbladder problems, I had an ultrasound which was negative. The pain(s) continued and I had blood tests, 2 MRI's, chest Xray and EKG... all negative. I suggested quiting the Zocor but my doctor didn't think that was the problem. I decided to quit the statin 1 week ago. Not feeling much better yet, but I will post an update.

This pill should be taken off the market.

I took yasmin for 6 months to help with menopausal symptoms (very heavy menstral bleeding) and it gave me gall bladder disease. My gynocologist never warned me of the potentially devastating side effects of this drug on liver and gall bladder function. I only learned about them when I read in detail the manufacturer's disclosures available to doctors. Before this, I had NO problems with my liver or gall baldder, now I have to have surgery to have my gall bladder removed.

DO NOT take this pill, especially if you have, or have a family history of liver and gall bladder disease.

This pill is destined for a class action law suit from women like me.

I was put on Yasmin combined with Wellbutrin for PMDD ( pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder AKA really severe mood swings , depression and anxiety before my period) and for about a month it was great, no more moodiness and I was feeling much better...NOW after that first month I started breaking out in hives here and there with most of the issue being on or around my hands and feet, sometimes not just the hives but the palms of my hands and bottoms of my feet will become hot, red and swollen, not to mention INCREDIBLY itchy....I have been exhausted constantly, no appetite and blurry vision with some lightheadedness.....I have an appointment with a surgeon because my gallbladder needs to come out ( I have had gallstones for years but diet has controlled any issues with it) and has only been really bad since going on this....before I started taking it ( started taking it in May 2006)I was aware that the gallbladder problems were mentioned in the leaflet given and the doctor told me not to worry....also constantly having sinus issues and headaches, oh and forget about a sex drive too........I never considered that it could possibly be this until I started reading more about it, but I am getting tired feeling like yuk all the time, I have 5 children and I am 33 years old but I feel like I am 90.....anyone else experience the itchy hives thing??
