Oh my gosh, I am just shocked after reading these posts. I am taking my son off of Singulair immediatedly!!!! I knew I wasn't crazy!! My son was on Singulair for over 2 years and it was awful. He was so hyper and uncontrollable. He couldn't control his temper. He had headaches everyday. He was put on it due to severe allergies and asthma. He is on other medications as well as allergy shots. I kept telling the doctor that I think the singulair was causing his bad behavior problems. He was just so hard to handle. He couldn't sit still for anything. The teacher couldn't get him to sit still in his chair. It just wasn't normal behavior for him. The teacher even thought he had ADD!! I didn't accept that however. The doctor just thought I was crazy and told me that Singulair wouldn't cause those symptoms. She said it actually would work opposit that and cause him to be sleepy. Well I took him off of it anyways and he did get pretty sick. His asthma acted up ect. But he eventually felt better and his behavior improved drastically. He wasn't so hyper and he could actually sleep at night and wasn't so scared at night. Just within the last week he has been pretty sick due to allergy season, his asthma has been bad and the doctor told me to put him back on the Singulair. So I did he has been on it for four days now and he is HORRIBLE.. It was an instant change. My husband and I can't control him and he can't sleep at night and has headaches every day. I am so glad I found this sight. I am taking him off immediately.
Thank you all so much for your comments. This medicine should be outlawed. I don't care what the doctors say. By the way my son is 9 years old. I certainly had no idea that it has caused suicide. I am so sorry to you all that have experienced such horrible things. Come to think of it my son used to say he hated himself all of the time when he was on this medicine.
God Bless You All

I have been on Yasmin for a week now and I can definitely see the changes. Mostly in my mood, I am usually a pretty laid-back, happy person and with this pill I have been short-tempered and super tired. I also have been having random, intense headaches and I usually never have an issue with headaches. I was using NuvaRing before and it was fabulous (so easy and the only possible side effect I had was a week of gastroenteritis, but that could have been from a meal I ate). I switched to Yasmin to clear up my skin, but I have not really noticed a positive or negative in that respect. I've stopped taking Yasmin and I am going back to NuvaRing!

NAUSEA!!!! I had been prescribed Levaquin back in January of this year for something (don't remember what) and must have had some kind of reaction since there are still some left in the bottle. 5 days ago I was given it again and have had nausea so extreme that 50mg of Phenergan won't touch it. I've found the nausea dissipates somewhat after about 12 hours and decided to try taking it before going to bed last night...wrong move! After a night of virtually no sleep and feeling like a hole was being eaten in my stomach, I am up this morning at 3am with worse nausea and horrible acid indigestion and reflux. I guarantee I won't be taking another. This drug was prescribed for sinusitis, bronchitis, gastroenteritis and believe it or not, rotavirus (I am 50 years old)! I truly feel for those of you who have had more extreme reactions than mine and I guess I'm happy for those it has worked for, but for me nausea stops me cold in my tracks. Guess I'll go for the bottle of Pepto, yuk.

I have been on Yasmin for 2 1/2 years and off of it for 5 months. The only side effects I experienced when going on the pill were thinning hair, severe depression (and I do mean SEVERE) mood swings, panic attacks and bad anxiety attacks. I've always been a very social person and never had problems like this before. I felt as if i was living my whole life in a cloud. My husband and I decided that I should get off of them. However the side effects of discontinuing Yasmin have been worse. I have been sick for the past 1 1/2 months with what I thought was bad food poisoning and gastroenteritis. But now that I have read your other posts I realize that it's all side effects. I went to ER twice, the first time told me that my potassium levels were extremely low (and no I don't have kidney problems) and I was dehydrated. I had severe diarhea, severe nausea, depression, I felt like my whole body was shaking, and I felt like I was going crazy. I hadn't had much of an appetite which is very unusual for me. I got my period on time the first month after stopping, but then my 4th and 5th month I was 2 weeks late both times. I've never had irregular periods since I started at age 12. I'm still dealing with dizziness, motion sickness, anxiety depression. I occasionally have nausea in the mornings and afternoons. When they tell you that your body returns to normal about 3 months after you stop taking it, is not true. I'm into my 6th month and I still do not feel like myself. I'm so glad I found this website because it's literally like I'm reading my own testimonial because all of our symptoms are so much alike. I will never take the pill again. Thank you for all of your posts regarding this and hopefully everyone is on the road to recovery from taking this pill.
