I have had an extremely stubborn sinus/respiratory infection for around 12 weeks or so. Weeks ago I finished a round of antibiotics (Doxycycline (sp?)) without much improvement. Went to ENT and he prescribed Levaquin 500mg once daily for 21 days. I have been on this med for about 14 or 15 days. Sinuses are some better but I don't think it is all gone. Interestingly though, about 3 or 4 days ago ALL of my joints began hurting...all of a sudden. I have had a really sore shoulder for about a week, maybe more, that really isn't getting better. How bizarre that this is the site I found. It must be the meds. It is Friday 11/30, 5:15, of course so I can't call them now. I have an appointment on Tuesday and I will assertively and aggressively inquire about this. This is pretty scary. If I learn something new I will gladly post it here--but I truly expect to be told it is not the Levaquin...

well i have only been on nuvaring for 2 weeks, but it is already a godsend!! i have been bleeding everyday since the birth of my second daughter in dec 2005. my gyn has tried several types of bc pills and none of them stopped my bleeding. i have had ultrasounds done to rule out any other probs. finally he said i should try another type of bc. he offered nuvaring, i said no bcuz the whole thought of that up there for 3 weeks freaked me out. but he told me to give it a try, so i did. i woke up the day after putting it in and my bleeding had stopped...and i have had no bleeding for 2 weeks. i do have a slight discharge but i will GLADLY take that over bleeding every day, anyday. no other symptoms to report.

hello

I'm 18 and Yasmin WAS my first BCP ever. It's not anymore...I took the first 3 weeks of the yellow active pills and started my mom and boyfriend started to notice a change in me. I all of sudden have panic/anxiety attacks about a volcanoe, fatigue, upset stomach, numbness in my arms, sick, vomiting, I don't want to be alone, I get nervous when it get's dark. I rock back and forth, I just stare at one spot, I all of a sudden don't want to take care of my baby. I would give her to my mom a lot. I thought I was going crazy until my mom found this page for me a few days ago. Since then I stopped taking Yasmin. My symptoms are starting to lessen. Saturday will be a week since I have taken a yellow pill. My Panic attacks have lessened but are not yet gone. My other symptoms are still here and probably will be for about 2 weeks (I've read that on other womens stories). I can't stand the panic attacks..I do not like volcanoes they do scare me, when I saw this show a few weeks ago about a volcanoe under Yellowstone National Park I started to get nervous about it, until eventually I had panic attacks about it...I don't get why though....then I find this page and it all makes sense. See I knew the volcanoe was there, but I never freaked out like this until I got the Yasmin in my body and system, since then all hell broke loose!!

If anyone knows a way and wants to get the word out about Yasmin let me know, I will gladly help. It's not a fun pill and I hate to think that there are women who are being prescibed it. I'm afraid my GYN is going to say that it's not the pill when it is. Your stories help support me and get me through this. I know it will all soon be over...that's all I can say to all of those who are going through it as well...it will all be over soon.

I am 29 and switched from Advair to Singulair, and in the first week of starting it I suffered from nausea and some vomiting. That stopped after repeated use though but I also continue to have abnormal sleep including halucinations and for this I would gladly switch back to Advair. Advair had a lot less side effects. I suffer mostly from wheezing and alergies rather than have asthma attacks.

I got my shot a few days before my wedding and it was the best gift ever. Before the shot I spent four years dragging myself around with lupus and chronic fatigue. Prednisone made me insane and miserable. I've felt like my old self again, for the first time in four years. I didn't have to sneak out of my own reception to take a nap. It's only been 6 weeks and I think it's wearing off. I wish it would never wear off. Reading these posts, it appears that as with other steroids, it is a trade-off. I'd gladly walk around with a dent, just to be walking around.

I too am so glad that I have found this site! I switched to Yasmin almost 2 months ago after taking Estrostep for 8 years. I began to experience severe cramps and my doctor believed a change might be necessary.

I had no idea how mild my cramps were before now! For the first few weeks of my switch I felt wonderful! I had so much energy, a very high libido and overall just felt great! Then... my period came and hasn't gone away. For the past 3 weeks I have had heavy bleeding, severe cramps. nausea and nervousness. My heart has been racing and suddenly I've been experiencing what I believe (and have researched to determine) are panic attacks. Without warning I will have to leave a public place or remove myself from a situation because of this wave of anxiety and a total lack of control. Never before have I experienced ANYTHING like this.

For now my doctor has advised me to take my remaining week of active pills, the inactives and then begin Estrostep once again (which I will gladly) but seeing that I have 2 more weeks and from reading this forum- possibly a LONG road to feeling "normal" again, is hard to bear. I cannot begin to express how different I feel on this medication. I can't sleep, can't eat anything without becoming sick, and the cramps are debilitating. I honestly don't know how many of you took these symptoms for so long.

Thank you for sharing your stories as it is comforting to know I am not alone!

For those of you, like me, who only took Yasmin for a short time, how quickly did you begin to feel better?

I recently started Lipitor, and within two weeks had a major depressive episode. I have not had any such emotional outburst for years. My sister asked me what was different, and the only answer was Lipitor. I will not live like this. I will gladly drop dead from a heart attack before living in misery forever.

Hello and "Thank You!" to who ever started this sight!!! I have been on Advair for about 2 years. The first 500/50 then cut back to 250/50. Number of attacks was next to nothing. Never breathed better in my life. During that time I had alot of the same symptoms mentioned. Saw the doc yesterday and was given the canned speach about how little of the drug is really absorbed into the system and that the "small" dosage that I was on shouldnt really cause these symptoms. She also told me that GERD and asthma medications are not linked together. I was also told that I am depressed and she would gladly refer me to a psyco doc. The topper came when she told me that there was alot of "bad information on the internet and you should not believe any of it." Hmmm. I quit taking it 3 days ago and can notice a difference. For the better. I plan on looking for a new doctor that is open to new ideas and hopefully can offer me some new treatment ideas. I know I need help, it is just a matter of finding the right doc and meds to use. Thanks for listening!

I started suffering from hay fever the summer between my jr. and senior high school year; I am now 48. When I was about 20 my cousin referred me to his doctor for a Kenalog shot for the hayfever. For several years I took at least one, sometimes two shots in the fall. I never had any problems that I couldn't live with...the only thing I noticed was irregular monthly cycle (especially the years I had 2 shots) for several months following and loss of smell. However, for anyone who suffers from hayfever, irregular periods and not being able to smell are gladly sacrificed for the relief Kenalog provided. I never experienced the dents or other problems I've read about.

As I got older I've "outgrown" hayfever. I'm really glad as my original doctor died and it became difficult to find a doctor who would administer the injection. I'd hate to still be suffering from the sneezing, watery eyes, etc. I do notice my skin is much more sensitive to plants and grasses now.

Two of my children developed hay fever about the same time as I. I'm ready to tell me son to ask the PCP about Kenalog but after reading other people's experiences, am reluctant. As my daughter is pregnant, I won't say anything to her.

OK, I'll stop.

I have been on pred for 2 years off and on for Temporal Arteritis that the doctors at long last have decided that I don't have. They started me out on 60 mm and now they are taking me off at 1mm every other week. I am down to 11mm now. I have experienced all the side effects except the acne and problems with periods. I gained 40 pounds and have such bad pains in my lower back that I can't stay on my feet for long. And I'm always hungry though I try to control it. My main withdrawal symptom is extreme itching from my neck to my wrists and thighs. especially where there is any pressure on the body such as waist bands etc. I tried to get off it once but it was at a faster rate and that is when the itching started. I will gladly put up with the itching as long as I can get off this "Satans curse" of a medicine. I also have jerking in my hands and a general feeling of shakiness. I was glad to read that someone else had painful sensitive teeth I didn't know it was connected to the pred. I too wonder if I will be able to lose all this weight after I'm off the pred. I do know that the moon face goes away because it did the one time I came off the pred then had to get back on it. I also have weakness in my thighs and arms. and my arms are always getting big ugly bruises or torn skin on them to the point that I have to wear long sleeves in hot weather.feel free to email me with your story. Especially if you are off of it so I can have some idea what might happen to me
