Girls everywhere . I have one question and please you can reply in private or on here, whatever you like. Did any of the doctors that prescribed Yasmin to you ever give you a hormonal test? I have been going through really bad emotional mood swings for a white but did not have insurance so never really go myself checked out. So last month I went back to my home country and visited a gyno(where medicine is not so overpriced) who has been recommended to me by numerous people and he did a bunch of hormone tests on me concluded (by blood work) that I have a hormonal inbalance. Before the tests were done he obviously asked me a bunch of questions and I warned him that last time i had gone on a losely prescribed birth control(which is was suppose to be very low hormone dosage) I went practically nuts. After seeing my results and finding my inbalance he has prescribed Yasmin to me because apparently I have too much estrogen and other things I couldnt really understand because I am not a doctor but I think one of the things it does is to block some of these hormone from going to your brain. So My point after all this rambling is that ALL of our bodies are different and all birth controls are different and have different hormones which could drive a normal person insane with or without taking the pills SO my suggestion if you are having trouble with Yasmin is to get your hormone levels checked, Yasmin may be the devil to you but its probably because you dot need certain components that are in it or lack some. Get real tests done!

I was diagnosed with asthma 8 months ago at 45 years old. It was quite a shock considering I never had sympthoms untill recently. The doctors thought that abulterol would be enough to control it but unfortunately the events become too frequent. They then swictched me to Singular. Wow, what a mistake that wa! Yes, my breathing improved but the side effects were frightening and painful. After only two or three days my arms, hands and fingers were numb and tingling...constant pins and needles...and virtually useless. At night I had the worst most vivid nightmares I've ever had. And I was unable to fall asleep because my mind was constantly racing. It's almost enough to make one psychotic. Plus I had sudden, very painful ear and tooth aches.

All this cleared up a few days after stopping Singualr.

This drugs is suppose to interfere with your body's signals to produce inflammation but it has to be doing so much more, and most of that not good. It seems clear based on my side effects and others I've read about it has a huge impact on the central nervous system too.

This is not a safe drug. I wouldn't be surprised if someone, some day uses it as an excuse for some really bad behaviour. In fact, I'm shocked that this is given to kids at all. If I had to take this for months I would go insane.

BTW, months later, on advice of my doctor, I tried it again with the intent of taking it every other day to limit dose. Nice idea, but no cigar. After just one dose I was once again "flipping out" in bed.

If you have really bad asthma and singular works for you without side effects that's great news. But I'd still ask myself what kind of impact is it having on your body if it does so much damage to so many other people. How safe can it really be?

If you have kids, and they're taking it, please keep a close eye on them. Sometimes kids don't have the communication tools to explain to parents what they're experiencing. Don't make them suffer...and don't let them be punished at school because their behaviour is uncontrollable. It could very well be this med.

I had severe, debilitating pain in my legs after taking three days worth of pills. I had noticed fairly bad pain in my legs the day before, but thought it was just the flu (I had been given the Levaquin for a chest infection). By the fourth morning, I could no longer straighten my legs or walk properly. I have a very high pain tolerance, but thought I would go insane from the pain. Due the medication I am on for blood pressure, my doctor could not offer me any pain relief except Advil and Skelaxin, which does not work.
I had read the insert that came with the Levaquin, but it only mentioned "leg pain" which did not sound at all serious, so I took it and paid a huge price. I had been walking two miles a day and now am not able to walk 1/4 mile without causing severe pain, and it has been three months since I took it!
Levaquin should be taken off the market!

I started my second pack of Yasmin yesterday.
This past month has been the worst month of my life. I have been crying constantly, worrying about my boyfriend, stressing more than usual about my workload and have had severe/lasting headaches much more frequently than usual.

Basically, I've had all the symptoms talked about here. I just talked to my mother on the phone complaining that the crying was so exhausting that I was too fatigued and depressed to function and get my homework done. I thought it might be because I've recently moved forward in my relationship with my boyfriend and so I've been rather emotional because of it. However, she suggested it might be because of the pill I'm taking.

A few minutes ago she sent me the website to this board, and I am now so happy to know I'm not insane, and so angry at the nurse practitioner at my college health services who claimed that her "2 decades of pill prescribing" had shown that people who had done badly on Ortho Tri Cyclen would do well on Yasmin. I WASN'T doing badly on Ortho. It didn't shorten or lighten my periods, and my cramps weren't much better, but at least I didn't go insane! I want to march over to her house and tell her that she has absolutely ruined the last month of my life, but I suppose she couldn't have known this would happen. I'm going back to Ortho Tri Cyclen.

I have lost a large portion of my sexual desire. I'm very much in love and attracted to mu husband but the sex isn't there like it use to be. However I'm not "suacidle" or a "bitch" anymore so he'd rather me be happy with myself and the world than have sex. So it has it's pro's and it's con's. For those of you who think sex is everything then don't take it. But I think that love is more important as well as patience so I'm sticking with it. I haven't tried coming off. If I did try I'm afraid I might go insane in the most literal sense. So I WOULD recommend doing some serious thinking and research before talking to your doctor about what you want to take. Maybe even try therapy before drugs especially if you have kids! Good Luck!
