God send symptoms and conditions

I have been on this drug now for 4 months. The first week i did experience the loopines and the loss of memory. My symptons went a way it has been a god send I have lost 37 lbs and also am sleeping (I have chronic lack of sleep issures) this has been the best drug I have been prescribed after being diagnosed with bi-polar disease. I has helped even out emotional swings and has allowed me to live a more normal life. I am a great fan of this drug...THANKS DR.!!!!!!!

I have been on mirena now for 10 months. I was on the depo for 10 years prior. I loved my depo adn only went off of it after Kaiser said I could not do it any longer. I was told that mirena was a god send and a lot like my depo. I can say that the combination of depo and mirena I have not had any period at all. but that is where the happiness ends. I have experienced moths of breast pain. it hurt to touch them let alone put anything on them. after about 6 months and numerous trips to the vet it disappeared. then I got a small rash on my neck and by my arms. went to dermatology and since then I have been there, or to my primary or an allergist every week since then. the rough severley itchy skin is constant. remarkably every 29 - 32 days it fades for 2 days or so and just when I am sure it is going away wham back it comes and each time it is getting worse and worse. having never had any skin problems before I believed the doctors tha tit was folliculitus, then they said dermatitus, then they said uticaria and then hives or the last straw i was causing it that it was in my head. i just got a new allergist and while she doesn't knwo if it is my mirena she can tell me I have histamine levels that are off the chart. my husband is allergic to a lot so we already use free & clear everything and my housse is spotless but I am still being told it is soemthing I am doing to myself. I have also been reevaluating my things and I relaize I have been experiencing a lot of numbness and joint pain. so much so that my primary sent me to a rhuematlogist and he ran every test for lupus, and many other diseaeses adn even cancer. I was going crazy. Iwas beginning to think maybe I was mental. I have since been researching mirena and I am finding it so much more than what the pamphlet says. I finally got the nerve to call my ob, adn she ahs since been researching things with me and we know for sure that no matter what next week I get my mirena removed. I am just feeling so alone and depressed. I am 33 years old and instead of enjoying my new marriage I am contemplating a divorce becasue I do not want him to be stuck with soemone who might be crazy. seeking support and anyone else who feels this way.

I have been prescribed Lamictal for seizures, and am currently taking 400mg daily, with my 300mg of Dilantin. Had horrible side effects this weekend-nightmares, exhausted, worsening depression, crying jags, difficulty swallowing. Has anyone else experienced mood changes for the worse while on this drug?

I meant to add also that my pain all over my body has decreased. I use to could not even stand the covers over my body or any kind of pressure on me. My poor husband couldn't even lay his hand on me at night. My migraines are lessened. I was having to take Imetrix almost every day for mirgraine symptoms. My doctor has also given me a muscle relaxer to help with spasms I have a problem with in my shoulders. The name of it is Tizanidine. It is remarkable. I now take it at night to help relax my muscles when I sleep then when I wake up I am not so stiff. I am really on my way to being helped for the first time. I can't say how much I appreciate this drug over narcotics. It is like day and night. Believe me. I have been through it and know. I can't take just anything. I am allergic to more drugs than I can take. This is a lonely road to deal with and no one but someone else out there that can relate to what I am dealing with can sympathize. I have been on Advair for 3 years and it was a God send. Finally a drug that practically cured my adult asthma. Recently though, I have been very dizzy, nauseated and my heart rate is WAY up (over 100 bpm)--usually after I eat. I have not been able to sleep due to my heart racing all night long. Since you can't get off Advair cold turkey--I'm going to the doc tomorrow. I'm so sad :(

I have been taking singulair on and off for the past 4 years. It was not until a year ago that i started to notice that when on the singulair for 5 months straight my hair would begin to thin and fall out basically. This particular time around I am gaining weight rediculously. In a span of 7 months I have gained 13 lbs. It is getting so that the side effects are costing me more happiness than the asthma alone. Just like the majority of you, when i first began the singulair it was a God send, well minus the nightmares. However, now I think I am going to wein myself off of them and come up with something better. Truthfully I am thinking about seeing a lawyer. The hair loss alone is driving me insane. Please let me know if anyone else is noticing the hair loss or weight gain. Also to the individuals the mood swings, I am pretty sure if my husband read your emails and could pin point where these outrageous mood swings are coming from he would probably throw my pill bottle out right now. Please let me know if there is anyone else out there experiencing these same side effects. PLEASE....

Hi, my 6 yo son started on the 4 mg singulair about three months ago after being hospitalized for three days due to a seizure. After many tests and massive iv antibiotics it was determined that his sinus infection (for which he was taking an antibiotic at the time) had irritated his brain and caused the seizure. He has struggled with sinus infections ever since age 1 and taken way too many antibiotics. After starting the singulair we noticed that the next time he got a cold his nasal passages stayed open and after blowing green mucus for about three weeks he was better without an antibiotic. We thought singulair was a God send. But out of the last nine weeks, he has had green snot coming out of his nose for six of them. He also frequently complains about mucus in his throat. But the thing that sent me searching on the internet was that now he is complaining of stomach pain. I feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place. He can't handle any more antibiotics, but I don't like what the singulair is doing to him either. I welcome any thoughts. BTW, we did have him allergy tested recently and he his highly allergic to dust, but nothing else.

My son vomitted anywhere from 1 to 15 times a day for 3 years. He went to very elite hospitals, gastroenterologist, psychiatrist, & many invasive tests. Then he went to a Neurosurgeon & they prescribed him amitryptiline. Within a month the vomotting was weekly. In a few months it happened monthly & now its very rare. This medicine was a god send. He was on up to 13 meds a day prior to this. I am very grateful to hvae found such a miracle..

This site has been such a God-send for me. I, too, have felt like a crazy person for the past two months. I had most of the symptons people mention...UTI-like problems, fatigue, weight-lose due to nausea, and serious depression/emotional problems. I have been off the pill for two weeks (after just a month of being on it) and although my UTI-like symptons have gone away, I am still struggling. I am still really depressed (made worse by the fact that I am not feeling better), still no appetite, and now dealing with headaches. Has anyone else experienced this? How long did it take to feel normal again? Any infomation would be so helpful...this pill has really affected my life in a negative way. Thanks for the feedback...******

I started taking Ultracet several months ago for pain after knee surgery but found that it also helped my Fybromialgia symptoms. Any initial side effects such as headache, itching or dizziness ceased after the first week. I take 2 pills only in times of extreme discomfort. 1 at a time works fine and I attempt never to take more than 3 a day. I find sleepiness to be a factor only if I am already in bed (which is good as my primary concern from Fybromialgia is insomnia). Overall, this drug has been a God send for me as I think I would have gone quite mad from the extremely extended and painful healing time after the surgey (compounded by the onset of sciatica which even the Ultracet made only marginally bearable). I am fortunatly not disposed to addictions but I am begining to wonder if the continued taking of a narcotic substance (yes - synthetic - but the effects amount to the same thing) is justified. The euphoria associated with even a low dose is very beguiling; it feels better and more positive than any antidepressant I have ever taken and with far fewer side effects as well. What to do...what to do...no 2 doctors will agree on the matter. My GP says NO; my Rumetologist says Yes!

I have been taking Yasmin for over a year and in that year I have gradually expeienced the following: horrible horrible anxiety (times I couldn't leave the house), numerous panic attacks, nausea, stomachaches (so bad I was told I had IBS but now I wonder), headaches, dizziness, heavy clumpy periods, irritiability, moodiness, shaking hands and overall depression. I honestly thought I was losing my mind. I was a social, happy go lucky person with NO medical problems before I started taking Yasmin. I have a great job, great group of friends & family, fantastic boyfriend and all around happy life and there were times that I would rather sleep the day away than spend time with any of them.
I came across this website and I cried b/c I came to realize that everything that was happening to me could be cause by this pill. I immediately called to make an appt. with my doctor. She told me to finish out my last pack and we'd wait and see how I felt (meanwhile I had to also take anti-anxiety pills b/c it had gotten so bad) I took my last pill 5 days ago and I feel better - I am about to get my period though so next week is my true test of whether or not this pill caused all the terrible feelings I have had over the past year.
I will definitley post an update but I wanted to post my story b/c I found everyone else's expeiences so comforting - knowing that I was not alone and it wasn't just a coincidence that some people on the same pill had the same side effects. GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR if it is unbearable - I am taking a break from any hormones for a while. This was such a horrible experience for me...
