I have been on Celexa for a little over a week for panic attacks/anxiety. The first 2 days I took it I felt like I was in a dream, light headed, tingly, pretty much just intensifying my problems in the first place so I stopped taking Celexa for a few days.. then I spoke with my doctor and she said to try taking it at night instead of the morning. So I began taking Celexa at bedtime. I didn't have much side effects except for a little trouble sleeping, but I actually was starting to feel "better", for about 4 days I was feeling really well and resuming normal activities. Then out of nowhere on that 4th day in the evening I got a really bad panic attack, and for the past 3 days since I've been feeling high anxiety and panic again. I don't understand, because I really felt like I was getting better. I told my doctor what has been happening and all she said was that its normal to have set backs and to continue the Celexa. I'm also taking Ativan to help control the anxiety until the Celexa "kicks in", but in the past few days nothing has been seeming to help. Has anyone experienced this? Is it because I've only been on Celexa for a week? I feel like I am going crazy being back in this lightheaded fog.

I am getting mine removed FRIDAY!! And Friday can't come soon enough. I am kinda bummed tho for having to go back on the pill but I can't hack this ANY LONGER!!! One of my friends works for a GP and I went to him because of some of my side effects. The flu like symptoms minus having the flu (had it for at least 2 to 3 mos now) NO sex drive (causing trouble with my marriage. Hubby is taking it WAY to personal), swelling in my hands, feet, legs, and face. (my face will feel flush and BAM I'm swollen!!) VERY BAD MOOD SWINGS!!! Very Bad isn't the word for it!! There are no words to explain my moods!! ANYHOW..... I sent this to my friend to read and she pulled it up at work. Well the GP said that this isn't a reliable place to go for information on the side effects. "There are NO positive side effects to anything." Which is true BUT he seems to think going to Web MD or some sight like that is more reliable than here. And that this sight shouldn't scare me and he wouldn't urge me to have it removed after reading this. (OH YEAH I forgot to mention joint pain, I have HORRIBLE joint pain in my hands, wrists, elbows, knees, ankles, and feet. The worst of it is in my wrists and elbows) Back to what I was saying. To that (this sight not being reliable) I say go to Web MD and post there too! I pray that I can get back to me after this comes out!! I hope it don't take too long either! I MISS the old me and HATE the new me!! But FRIDAY HURRY UP AND GET HERE. And for anyone who has had it removed........ anything I should be repaired for??? Thanks for your time!

Numbness in legs and hands, weakness? the spoon in my hand didn't feel right to eat, agitated, high blood pressure, chest pains, sinus infection,
face very numb, started at the lip within 12 hours it was spreading up my face, my eyelids felt so heavy.........I went to the Dr.. he said I had sinus infection, I asked about the numbness, he said Januvia had nothing to do with it!
I left feeling like I was going crazy why all these symptoms and JANUVIA was SAFE, A MIRACLE DRUG WITH NO SIDE EFFECTS BUT A SORE THROAT!
I called 2 other doctors to verify. My dose was due, I skipped it , 4 hrs. later I started noticing a difference

I have been taking Femcon for about 3 months now. I took Yasmin for about a year prior to Femcon, and my OBGYN had me switch because I had some bad cysts on both of my ovaries. After the first couple weeks on Femcon, I thought I was going crazy. I was an emotional wreck, I was having random panic attacks for no reason, I was lashing out at my boyfriend (we have been together for 3 years, and I have never fought with him the way I have been lately, and they are arguments that I start myself, over any and everything.) I had my period for the first 4 weeks of taking this pill, and when I was supposed to get my period, it didn't come. My breast have gone up a whole cup size (I went from a D to a DD....not something I needed or wanted to happen!) And I have put on about 7 pounds. This has been like a nightmare to me, and I didn't know why these things were happening until I found this site. I suspected Femcon may be why these things were happening, but I kept on telling mysef that was crazy, and I probably just needed psychologial help. I am so upset with my Dr. for giving me this pill. I feel like a guinea pig for this "revolutionary birth control pill." I don't recommend anyone to take it. I have been taking birth control pills for 10 years, and I have never experienced anything like this. It is like a bad dream. Thank you so much to all the other women that have posted their experiences on here, you have helped to saved my sanity and my relationship!! I am calling my Dr. tomorrow to switch to something else (probalby back to Yasmin).

I came across this website last night and was very shocked, but also relieved as to what I read. My 8 year old son has been on Singulair for about 3-4 months now. He had some minor behavioral problems before, but since being on the drug, it has become in my opinion, out of control. He has been having increasing problems in school-not listening, not following directions or staying on task, even yelling at the teacher. At home he has been really aggressive and punches the walls when he gets angry. Every little thing sets him off.
I had a wierd feeling last night that maybe it was because of the Singulair and ran a google search and found this blog. I was amazed to see how many other children were experiencing the same thing. I was relieved though too to find out that I wasn't going crazy or in this alone.
I spoke to my son's doctor's office (allergist) and he CONFIRMED that there have been a small number of incidents of this same thing having been reported and that Singulair contains ASPARTAME. My son is now going off the meds for one month to see if there is an improvement in his behavior.
I immediately called my pediatricians office and let him know-the nurse said that they were not aware of the side effects or that the drug contained aspartame.
I am going to reiterate everything that other people have already said-call your doctor and let them know and report the side effects to the FDA. We have to do it! Understand everyone has different reactions to medications, but we don't want more children to have to go through these feelings or more parents to feel frustrated.

i am on my last pack of pills for yasmin. my gyn put me on loestrin starting next month. i hope i have a better experience with that than yasmin. at first i didnt notice any side effects at all. then within the past couple of months (ive been on yasmin for about 6 months) i have noticed so many problems.
i am prone to migraines, but i am getting migraines at least twice a week which has severely effected my work and school life.
i had an ear infection.
ive gained close to 20 lbs (!!!!!) when in the past few months my lifestyle has been healthier and more active than it was when i started this pill. it just doesnt make sense to gain so much when i have improved my lifestyle..
i find i am moody and depressed, if something bad happens, even if its something little, i either get so uncontrollably angry or sad and i cry all the time. im not normally this emotional, ive even cried at work. its so embarrassing.
ive also noticed that after any meal i feel like i am extremely bloated and my stomach starts hurting. it doesnt matter what kind of food, it could be healthy, greasy, veggies, or cereal..no matter what my stomach always hurts to much afterwards.
i am also getting night sweats and horrible back pain, especially when i go to bed.
i am gassy, and my cramps last for my whole period. none of those things ever happened before i was on this pill.
my libido went down, however i think this is due to the weight gain. i have never felt so disgusting in my whole life.
i have gone through many pills, and the nuvaring as well. none of them have had side effects on me as yasmin.
does anyone have any suggestions for other pills for me to try? i am willing to give loestrin a chance, especially because it is a lo dose pill..and i know that everyones bodies are different. i just feel so lost..i hope this new pill works out better.

I just got switched from desongen which I had been on for over a year to Apri and was told they are the same that one is the generic of the other,. I had never had any noticeable effects from desogen, my sex drive was down but definitely existent. But I found that this month I've been really moody and anxious, has anyone had a similar experience or am I going crazy? Is it even possible if the pills are chemically identical?

Up until today I thought I was seriously going crazy. I have been taking Yasmin for about 2 years but I took a break from it for about 3 months. I just started taking it again in September and it has been going really downhill from there. Since I began taking it again my moods have gone out of control, nauseous, NO sex drive( and when my fiance would want to I would tell him to leave and that all I wanted to do was go to sleep), cramping, bloating.. etc..I have been doing poorly in school because I had been feeling depressed with the relationship between my boyfriend and i. My boyfriend encouraged me to medically smoke marijuana when I had pain from cramps and it has surely helped me. I know that I could choose to continue to feel like crap all the time or to figure out what is wrong with me. Finally I got online and wanted to see what everyone else was feeling while being on Yasmin. I had every effect that every other upset woman had. Finally I know what it is... YASMIN. I will stop taking Yasmin once this month is over. Thank god

The cure is worse than the disease is true for me with Yasmine. I started because of heavy periods, very painful ovulation, and cysts on my overies. Stop the periods sounded better than a hysterectomy.
My gall bladder has been very sore, and causing me the classic symptoms of gall stones or gall bladder disease. The ultrasounds, MRI's and blood tests are normal, the pain is always there, and very strong at night. I have seen at total of 6 doctors before someone said," birth control pills cause this type of pain." I have quit Yasmin but true to the British Columbia health system it will take another month before I can see my GYN. All women please check all the side effects of birth control pills, it seems so common, we take for granted that it won't be us that has the problem. Just for all you nay sayers out there, I already have a low fat diet, I am 5' 3" and 130lbs.

This medication should be taken off the market. I went to my Dr. and teh Emergency room for them to tell me I was not having a reaction. My heart was racing to over 110 while my normal resting heart beat is 66. I was trembling inside my body and hands. The worst was the tightness in my chest that felt like anxiety. I could barely breath. I have never had anxioty so they wanted to give me something for that. But what about the other symptons, swollen tough, bruising and sleeplessness. None of it was worth it. I also began seeing cats in my house. I dont have cats. Scary, painful medication and I am extremely worried that DR.and the Medical companies are not fully aware of how dramatic and common these side effects are. Thier site doesnt list out many of these like trembling, high heart rate and intense anxiety, which is very concerning. If you are feeling any of the symptoms here and they are bothering you demand that your Dr. listen and perscribe a new medication if needed. Good Luck and thanks to all of you who shared. I thought I was going crazy.

I switched my birth control from the pill to nuvaring a little over five months ago. I am a graduate student/research assistant and have been in a great relationship for 3 years. I know myself and I know my body, SOMETHING WAS SEVERELY WRONG. I knew there was something happening inside me. I have been off nuvaring for almost two weeks and I feel significantly better. These were my symptoms:
PHYSICAL:
-severe leg pains
-pains in my arms
-chest pains
-shortness of breath
-headaches
-blurred vision
-weight gain
-rapid heart beat
EMOTIONAL:
-depression
-anxiety
-feeling of hopelessness
-easily discouraged
-rapid mood swings
-withdrawl from talking to people
-feeling like a burden to others
-paranoia
I had never felt like this before, and I thought I was going crazy. I could not explain what was happening. If you feel any of these symptoms, talk to your doctor immediately! Physical symtoms could be signs of blood clots, which can result in death. And even more painful were the emotional side effects. If you are feeling any thing like this please talk to someone or even email me! Nothing will happen if you take the ring out early, but definitely consult a doctor. If you do take the ring out, please be safe and use a condom. You are not alone! Everyone's body is different and sometimes we need to listen to what our bodies are trying to tell us.

I've been on the NuvaRing for about a year. And I'm quiting this week.
This has been the worse year of my life and did not know until this past week that it had to do with the NuvaRing. I started looking up side effects & reviews of the NR because I was getting worse and the Nuva Ring is the only medication I take. I'm glad I started looking stuff up. My side effects I have been having I can not live with any longer.
They are:
The day before and the first day of each period I always have the following symptoms - Sever leg aches that only heat can help ease (but not get rid of), a lot of pressure in my head, my eyes feeling very heavy, unable to get my words out right, and extreme exhaustion, I usually stay in bed for about 2 days.
I've gained 20 pounds this year,
Very bad depression.
Social Anxiety - (I've always been a people person, but while on the Nuva Ring I could not stand to be around people. It would make me so anxious and I wanted to scream. Thought I was going crazy)
Very Irritable
Frequent Constipation and gas (never had this problem before)
Brown spot on my face
Not able to sleep through the night
Breast increase by 1 cup size (but no soreness)
Lack of energy all of the time
NO SEX DRIVE, I've got the best husband in the world, but for some reason it makes me not even want to be touched.
My allergies/sinuses have been worse than ever since I've been on the Nuva Ring.
Hair loss
I just thought that my life had gone really bad and that I was losing my mind. Once I started looking up reviews of the Nuva Ring I found that a lot of woman are having these same symptoms.
I've read that some women have pain with sex..... the little my husband and I have had sex, it wasn't painful. At least that part was good. ha ha
I'm thankful to have an understanding husband that is standing by me and is taking care of me as I go off the ring.
I DO NOT recommend anyone to use the Nuva Ring.
The only thing it did good for me was make my periods a lot lighter.
I think I will go back to dealing with heavy periods and clotting. At least I'll be normal the rest of the month. (I'll just pray that my periods will be good)

After reading all your comments here on this website, all I can say is "Thank God, I'm not the only one!" I thought I was going crazy or something. I was on Yasmin for a couple years & loved it! Then I lost my insurance & my doctor gave me some free samples of Femcon Fe. The first month I got acne, severe headaches, moodswings, was terribly nauseous & had trouble keeping food down. Now I'm on the final, 3rd month & I can't eat enough! I'm always hungry (especially for chocolate), I've gained 5lbs, still have acne & headaches, I've experienced random spotting during the month, and now this month my period's late. Ugh! I asked my doctor to switch me to another birth control- she's switching me to Tri-Sprintec. It's offered at the Walmart Pharmacy for $9 a month, which is a lot better than the $45 I had to pay for Yasmin a month. Let's hope this Tri-Sprintec works better than Femcon Fe !!

Thank goodness I found this site!!! I was starting to think I was going crazy! I have been taking Singulair for a little more than 3 weeks, for my allergies. It works wonders on allergies, but I have had several side effects, that I hadn't realized were side effects until reading this site.
I have felt very tired, yet anxious at the same time. I've been very moody, almost to the point that I feel angry all day (which is very unlike me). I have also had strange aches and pains, along with itchy skin on my feet and under my arms. I have also had very vivid dreams. Strange, bad dreams, that last all night long. When I awake I feel like I haven't had any sleep.
I am going to stop taking Singulair today!

I went to the doctor on October 9th, 2007, with a sinus infection, that had jumped into my eyes, throat, teeth and ears. I was prescriber Levaquin for 10 days, 750 MG. I took 6 of the pills before I realized that the medication was my problem.
From the beginning I could not sleep, which is totally unusual for me. The minute I would lay down my skin would begin to feel itchy and I became very anxious. I had to miss several days work as I was told that my illness was highly contagious and the side effects had already begin setting in. I had blurred vision, heartburn, severe stomach cramps, knee and leg cramps including severe pain when walking or trying to stand up. I felt as though I had been run over by a SEMI-TRUCK. I would feel a little "out of it" if I had telephone conversations with anyone. I finally realized that it was either the medication or I really had a bad medical problem. I called the pharmacist who told me to contact my doctor immediately. When speaking with my doctor, I was told to discontinue the medication immediately, but unfortunately I had already taken the dosage for that day. I was told that I had enough of it in my system to last another day or two.
My legs and knees are giving me so much pain, that it is unbearable to walk or attempt to stand. I am still having abdominal cramps and my vision is also continuing to give me problems.
Heaven only knows why I decided to look on the web to see if anyone else had encountered problems, but at least at this point I know I am not going crazy.
It is quite frightening to think that the side effects on this medication could be long term. My advice to anyone given this medication by your doctor...tell him "NO WAY!"

This is only the 3rd day I'm taking Singulair. Tonight when I got home I quickly did a search for Singulair side effects. Here is what I had been feeling.
1) Extreme deep neuromuscular pain in my neck and shoulders and extreme pulling muscle tension along the length of my spine.
2) Thoughts of paranoia.
3) Extreme irritability
4) Heart palpitations
5) General feeling of malaise
6) Feeling that there is some toxic substance in my body ...
It is the Singulair!
7) Very very bad case of indigestion and upset stomach

I was on Singulair for about 5-6 years and I rarely had an asthma attack. I had the vivid dreams that are common with Singulair, but that didn't bother me. I also had the occasional earache, but it was tolerable. My last 3 months of taking this drug, I started "seeing things." I would see shadows darting out of the corner of my eye. At the time I was waitressing and I went out to wait on a table that I thought was there. When I looked up to take their order, there was no one there. One night I almost got into an accident because I thought a car was behind me that was tailing me when there wasn't one. It was at that point that I really started to freak out. I thought I was going insane, possibly schizophrenia. One day I was flipping through a magazine and happened to see an ad for Singulair. I read through all the fine print and saw that a rare side effect was hallucinations! It all made sense at that point and I knew I wasn't going crazy!
I stopped taking Singulair and then started to have breathing problems (I wasn't taking anything for my asthma at that point). I went to the doctor and he laughed when I told him about the hallucinations being from Singulair. He told me to go back on it and see if it happened again. The second or third day I started to see shadows again. I lasted about a week and then just stopped and went to Advair. It doesn't help much.
It makes me really sad that Singulair did this to me. It was the only time in my life where I didn't have to worry about breathing. Now I have to take prednisone about twice a year, which I never had to do on Singulair. I just wanted to write this in case anyone else was experiencing anything similar.

Hello to all! I am 27 and have been using the ring on and off for about a year now. I have all the exact same problems as you all do! It is amazing! I thought I was going crazy!! I already suffer from depression and thought my lexapro wasn't working anymore. Now I know its the ring. I stopped using the ring about 2 weeks ago and haven't stopped bleeding yet! Before that I was on it for 3 months straight. But only because I was bleeding for 8 months prior and had to go on something. Is there any b/c out there that won't cause this many problems??

Hello,
I am a 37 yr old male and have been on Lisinopril 20/25 for about 6 months now. I was asked to switch because the medication I was on before was not approved by my insurance carrier and this medicine is one tenth the cost.
I have never really put all of this together until I found this site. I have become increasingly confused and find normal tasks more difficult. I have always struggled with slight depression and anxiety but it has become much worse. (One of the side effects I knew nothing about before this site.) I constantly have the feeling I am going to dye or that something terrible is going to happen to me or my family.
My wife asked me yesterday if I felt that I was more confused lately and she said I was not acting myself for the last few months. Now I may know the validity of that question.
My other bothersome side affects are the feeling of a lump in my throat that I can not cough out; irregular heart beat and occasional high BP with pounding heart beat; Numbness in one or both hands; Mood swings and loss of patience.
I have just attributed these symptoms to getting older but now I know I am not going crazy!!!! Thank God for this site.
Good luck to everyone else...

I have been on Apri since July 07' and the first 2 months were terrible. I have never had such bad mood swings in my life, I would cry if someone looked at me wrong, and the urge to scream at people is crazy, I have a 7 year old daughter and a 10 year old step son and I have been unable to treat them with the quality that they need, I have been getting mad at them for the littlest things and they are things that they should not even be getting trouble for. My husband is going crazy because if he tries to talk to me about serious things I start crying. I get very gassy and bloated all the time, I have changed my diet and that has only made it worse. I have been on so many bcps because of serious side effects and I am starting to feel like a lab rat. I am just starting the new yaz that has came out, I am starting it today I really hope that I have better results. The only thing that I liked about the Apri was the fact that I didn't gain weight. One more thing the periods were so painful, I have never had this much pain with a period, and I have a past with ovarian cysts and I normally have really painful periods, but with this pill it was way worse. I hope this helps anyone that is deciding a bcp for themselves.

I have been on this drug for a year. I have never felt worse in my life. I am a 54 year old woman who works out daily and am not overweight but I have HBP. My side effects did not start until 6 months after being on this drug, so I didn't think right away that it was this drug.
I would wake up with severe leg cramps at night that would not go away. I had severe pain in the lower back and on both sides where the kidneys are. I thought I had a terminal illness. I could not function in my life at all. My dr. changed my RX to Benicar which is in the same family the results were worse than the lisinopril. I took myself off both drugs for two days and all symptoms went away except the HBP. I am now on amlodipine for two days so far so good no cramps no pain. The only side effect is flushing which is a piece of cake next to what I lived with.
I am also so happy I found this site I thought I was either dying or going crazy.

I just started taking Yasmin again in March. I had taken it back in November but stopped midway through my second pack because I was experiencing severe anxiety, nausea, fatigue... to the point my social life and grades in school were suffering. I went online and found this site and read how there were a lot of women who experienced bad side effects from this pill too. Recently I decided that it was in my best interest to take birth control again and because I did have added stress in my life during the time I took Yasmin before I thought maybe I would be okay this time. I WAS SOOO WRONG. I haven't even been on Yasmin again for a month and my life as I knew it has been turned upside down. In less than a week of starting it I started to have severe chest pains and nausea. I thought I was having a heart attack. I have had panic attacks before and this was nothing like that The tightness and pressure in my chest never has gone away. I've been to three different doctors and have had many tests to figure out whats wrong. They all tell me the same thing that I'm a healthy 22 year old and that if anything I just have inflammation my ribcage. My grades are suffering again because I have missed a lot of class because I feel so awful. Every morning I wake up with the chest pain (that gets worse the more active I am) and nausea. Since all these symptoms have come on my relationship has taken a turn for the worse too. All I want to do is sleep, I don't feel like going out, I get annoyed very easily by everything my boyfriend does so I don't want to be around him. I feel so "out of it" sometimes I get dizzy and feel numb all over. Its so scary (esp. the chest pains) The worse thing is that no one really believes me (i.e. my boyfriend) I never feel good and I'm sure the people around me are tired of me complaining all the time. One more thing... I started my period very early (I still have a week and a half of active pills left) I've never experienced that before... weird. Anyways, I stopped taking Yasmin 2 days ago. I still have all the same symptoms... I really hope they go away soon. I want to get back to my old self and my old life. YASMIN SUCKS!!! I'd rather take the risk of getting pregnant than take Yasmin. At least then I'd have a excuse that ppl would believe for being sick :(
