I have been on Levaquin for close to 4 weeks. 27 days at 500mg and the rest at 750. I have a severe open wound after a foot surgery. I started feeling like my shoulders had been hit by a bat. Slowly every single joint in my body is in pain. I cry with every move I make and dread going to sleep for fear of how painful and stiff my body will be in the morning. I begged the Dr. to remove me and he has agreed. i just pray it leaves quickly.

I found this site by searching for numbness, tingling and bruising. I am having these symptoms in my leg and thought it could possibly be a side effect of the lisinopril that I've been taking since February. The relief is that I'm finding other side effects that I've had that I thought were just part of my growing older. As it turns out... looks like they are side effects. I think just because they didn't appear right away, I was thinking they must be from something else. I do have the funny cough, skin itchies, and fatigue. I've also started having insomnia which has just stunned me because I've never had that before. I just never know from one night to the next if I'm going to sleep through or wake up for hours at a time. Thanks everyone for posting your experience. I guess I'd better do something to change this medication.

My husband went on Lisinopril in Feb 07, his bp went down and was regulated his headaches almost left but then he had sinus surgery in mar or apr. He has now developed muscle twitching and now the "doctors" say he has Motor Neuron Disease.... I refuse to believe after reading everyone's side affects that this 41 year old with no family history of this other than 1/2 siblings with high bp that he has this disease. He has experienced neck stiffness like it is broken (had MRI) no broken bones or slipped disc, he has had the chills, hw has vision blurred issues, heaviness in his legs, left side of his body more prominent than the right, he has crazy dreams and thoughts, he feels like he is dying, he doesn't however have any coughs, he has anxiety which they put him on anti depressant. After reading others comment I researched this med, it was developed by venom in a poisonous Brazilian snake. My husband as a child would get bitten by wasps, fire ants etc.. they would rush him to ER for meds and he used to take shots if stung, swells up like a balloon. So in my theory this med has the snake bite affects and I believe this has caused him to have this neuron disease but I can't prove it. His muscles twitch all the time. I believe this drug has been slowly poisoning him to a eventually paralysis to death. I have begged the doctor to take him off. He has but now he is on Atenolol, which is not much better but has no snake venom or ACE inhibitors. Please people email me. I am desperate we need to band together.
Thanks you Joann

My doctor doesn't listen to me when I tell him that I feel tired when I wake up and get dizzy often when just walking. Today I felt like I was going to faint on the golf course so I quit after only 3 holes. I also have a very low libido and feel depressed. I have trouble clearing my throat at bedtime and have trouble going to sleep. I am going to stop taking this drug today.

Until I read some of these stories, I didn't know it might be the Levaquin tearing my whole body to pieces. I have been on 750mg. once daily for 2 weeks now for a severe sinus infection. I have 9 more days of it, but I'm calling my doctor in the am. I've had diarrhea for 2 weeks, and increasing muscle and bone pain that started in my lower back, now down through my legs, hands and fingers swollen and going to sleep all the time, tho this seems to have stopped...not the pain in every joint in my body is excrutiating. I really can't walk anymore, can't pick up my legs, have tremors in my hands, fingers, unbelievable pain in every bone in my body! I also have an active infection in my gall bladder and now a gall baldder attack. My gall bladder has to be removed asap. My potassium dropped to critical, 2.4 and my Internal Medicine Dr. can't seem to get it back up. I take blood tests every day to check my potassium level.

My sinus specialist prescribed this med for me. My hips and legs keep locking up and I'm afraid of what's happening to me. I have to have surgery now, and my body won't function. I will talk to both doctors tomorrow...and to my cardiologist. This medicine shouldn't be on the market. I hope there's a lawsuit...My neice went into kidney failure from Levaquin a few years ago. I didn't have any idea it was the meds until I found this site.
Is this reversible or permanent?

My doctor put me on Lisinopril in March 06'. Within a week I developed a dry hacking violent cough that persists to this day. I complained about the cough and was assured that this was a very uncommon side effect. The violent coughing has also led to bouts of uncontroled vommitting with severe watering of the eyes sometimes occuring during work hours. Going to sleep is the worst. I always feel like phlegm is stuck at the back of my throat. Within 5 minutes of laying down the post nasal drip occurs usually resulting in a controlled vomit to clear out the plug of phlegm that is preventing me from sleeping. I have to sleep on my side at night. Sleeping on back always results in coughing that always wakes me. This is probably why I am always tired at work after getting 7-8 hours of sleep. Thanks to all of you for your postings, Today is my last day on this garbage medicine.

My 8 1/2 year old had been off and on (mostly on)Singulair since he was 3 years old. It has always extremely effectively controlled his asthma. However, I am concerned about some symptoms that I believe may very well be side effects from this med.
He has trouble sleeping (esp. going to sleep), he struggles with daytime drowsiness (even after 10 hours sleep), he has rare occurances of bedwetting, frequent nose bleeds, and has dropped from the 75th percentile in hieght at age 3 to less than 10th percentile now. He also experiences frequent and severe mouth sores (apthous ulcers) that do not clear up easily.

Have been on 25 mg for about 6 weeks for hypertension. Wake at night with hands going to sleep. Very difficult to get my heartrate up to target range when exercising; gained about 8 lbs within 2 weeks.

I want to say first that I have been taking 50 mg. of Zolft now for about 5 years. I take it at bedtime. I hve only forgotten to take it once or twice in five years. The times I did forget however, I would have very strange images in the black space when I close my eyes. If I could get up and take it before going to sleep, in about 20-25 minutes the images would stop and I would fall peacefully to sleep. The nights that I did not take it at all I would have very strange and disturbing dreams. Even with these minor side effects, Zoloft is still one of the best things that has ever happened to me. It has made such a change in my life that I can't say enough good about it.

I have been taking 20 mmg of prednisone three times a day. I'm taking it for lupus, and I have gained over 10 pounds in a week. It makes me feel wonderful, but I hate the side effects. I am gaining so much weight, my face is so fat and people continuously ask me if I'm pregnant. Also it stops me from staying asleep but not from going to sleep. However, that doesn't bother me so much.

I am taking periactin to increase my appetite because I fell like I am under weight, and cause me anxiety, so bad, specially in the night when I am going to sleep. But help me to gain weight. I am a person with Mitral Valve Prolapse and I am taking Toprol 25mg. and Elavil in the nights, but when I take periactin I do not take Elavil, so I don't know what to do, if keep going with the periactin or stop taking it.

I started taking Singulair only three days ago. I normally am very "body sensitive" and am extremely in touch with how new drugs interact with me. The first day I noticed my heart racing and I had a hard time going to sleep. The second and third day I've felt strange pin prick itching sensations all over my body. I don't want to even imagine how I would feel taking this every day for over a week! Yes, my sinuses are better, but I most certainly feel more anxious and the skin sensations are downright irritating - as if there are small insects crawling in my scalp and all over my body! Yuck!

Hello all, I have also been prescribed ambien about a month ago, in the beginning it was great, I was able to go right to sleep and sleep til the next morning, about 2 weeks ago I started having problems going to sleep, I have a doctors appointment today and I'm going to ask my doctor about something else, because I think I'm passed ambien, and I'm no good not having any sleep, with a husband and 2 kids to take care of. If any of you know something that would be good, I sure would appreciate your response.

I have been taking Wellbutrin for about 2 months now. I orignally started taking it to quit smoking & have now been smoke free for 5 weeks. I have lost about 20 lbs. & I feel great. I have no problems going to sleep, in fact when I lay down I don't remember anything when my head hits the pillow. I haven't experienced any of the symptoms that others have listed, I think it just reacts differently with different people. I love it.

I have been on Lipitor for 2 days and have had more sleeping problems than I already have. I have heavy hot flashes at night and wake up often. I have no trouble going to sleep, but now waking up is what I do all night long. Lipitor has made it worse. Will this subside? I have read your blogs and hope I don't have the other horrible side effects, I already have the start of arthritis in my knee and back, but it is bearable due to exercise, massage, and choirapractor. Should I get on the Co-Q10? I am 54 years old, in pretty good shape, but my colesterol is at 264 and never had to take this sort of drug before; always adjusted by diet, but not now. Please help.

I have been on Wellbutrin for approx. 2 weeks. I was prescribed 150 mgs of Xl per day for major depression which I take before going to sleep. I have had some odd but not too severe side effects including vivid dreams (many extremely odd), bouts of nausea which can be severe and seem to last about 1-2 hrs. I have not noticed too much anxiety but some agitation upon waking int he morning. No memory loss or fatigue and my sleep seems to be ok. I have also had a few mild headaches.

What most people don't read, is that if you are taking Levaquin or any of the quinine based antibiotics you are NOT supposed to ingest caffeine. No tea, no coffee, no chocolate. I was getting major rushes off of it. It was kinda neat :) But not when the heart started racing like crazy. It also contributed to a lot of other icky symptoms. Stopped the caffeine as opposed to the antibiotics and the infection is getting better. Now I just have to kill the caffeine deficiency headache :) Oh, and if you go off caffeine, you're going to sleep like the dead for a couple days.

I have an MRSA (antibiotic resistant staph infection) did a round of Zithro, a round of Cipro and now on a round of Clindamycin. Infection is finally being held at bay from getting worse. Now I have to convince it to die and go away.

What fun

Continous nausuea and increase in restless legs. Did not help me going to sleep unless I also took over-the-counter sleep aids.
