Hi, I was a healthy middle age women, until Leaquin 750 mg. I was diagnosed with Severe Bronchitis, was given Levaquin 750 mg. for 7 days. Took this pill for 3 or 4 days. Then one day at work, I felt like the upper left side of my body and face was on fire, very dizzy, and started passing out. The ambulance was called they found my blood pressure was way over 200, face bright red, hives on right side of face, very light headed. They checked blood every 4 hours, IV's of all different meds, Z pac, steriods, etc. Stayed there for 4 days, under going different tests, all came back great, sent me home and said dehydration, I do not believe so.......I am still lighted and in like a Brain Fog and still do not feel right since taking this Levaquin. I am seeing my Doctor tomorrow and he better have a good answer for this nightmare drug and how long the side affects last. I need to feel normal, again........If you have this drug, PLEASE do not take, I am not a Doctor so I cannot tell you what to do, but check it out real good first..........

I'm a 38 y/o male with a somewhat different outlook on taking my Singulair and my chronic asthma. I've been on it for about 8 months and had the strange dreams, have the horrible aches and put on a good 10 pounds. I have the mild depression too and yes, I attribute the side effects to Singulair. Prior to this, I took allegra nightly w/ albuterol everythime I had an attack. The allegra had it's own side effects: max of 4-6 hours sleep nightly, irritable, couldn't concentrate at work, loss of appetite. Most people before going on singulair are using a pill like Allegra that inhibits appetite so when they go on Singulair, they drop the speedy drug and boom, here comes the appetite. Anyway, for me I prefer the Singulair, aches and all. I take a couple Advil on the achy days and no pain. I don't wake up with the life threatening asthma attacks and I don't have the life threatening asthma attacks when I least expect them like when I'm hiking 30 miles from the nearest hospital. I agree that Singulair is probably not a good answer to seasonal allergies especially in children that are experiencing severe sdie effects, but for everyone screaming lawsuit here do what most people do when a medication doesn't work for them or their child and TRY SOMETHING NEW! TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR! DIRECT YOUR DOCTOR TO THIS DISCUSSION BOARD!
For children with severe asthma, my guess is that Singulair can be a good drug and I think because it is so new, we need to make our doctors aware of all the side effects we feel so they can tell new patients what to look for or so they know what to listen for.
I'd rather breathe!!!

Well here it is 5 more days since my last post. The hospital where I went to the emergency room and the maker of LEVAQUIN still do not answer my inquiries. I REPEAT THEY HAVE NOT ANSWERED ME. This tells me there is something really wrong with the drug system here in the USA. The answer I got from the FDA was not a good answer either. You could or at least I got the opinion that if a drug maybe helps some and doesn't kill too many they leave it on the market. All I can say now is beware of what is perscribed for you and don't let it cripple or maybe even kill you. Ed
