I just got this pill from my doctor today!!!!! but i am afraid to take it reading all these comments. I started birth control when I was 16. My doctor first gave me the orthro patch. I took it till I was 22 and had major mood swings depression and bad anger problem. Everyone thought it was just that I was a bitch and there was nothing I could do. I knew it had to be the birth control so I asked my doctor (a different doctor since I moved) and she said that the patch is very bad and doctors have now come to realize it puts to much of the hormone in your body. That is what was causing me to go insane. I then switched to the NuvaRing . IT WAS HORRIBLE!!! I had the same mood problems ( a little less dramatic) but I felt like the ring was cutting my insides. I could feel it everyday putting pressure inside me. It made me lose my sex drive and it even came out one time during sex which my fiancee found weird for a ring to pop out of me lol. Now today I went to the doctor to switch birth control again and she gave me Loestrin 24. I am kind of afraid to take this because everyone has problems and when I read all the comments it sounds like every possible birth control out this is making every women go completely insane. Any advice from someone would be good. Should I stay in the crazy birth control world and give this pill a shot or should I give up birth control all together?

I knew it had to be that antibiotic!! My family doctor put me on Levaquin for a urinary tract infection a few days ago and the night before last I woke up in the early a.m. shaking all over and hurting in every joint in my body, and I have a foggy memory of it all too. It was very bad. I could not stand up without holding on to the wall because I was to weak and my legs felt like aching jello. I could barely move my neck and I thought I had meningitis it was that bad. I called 911 and the ambulance came for me. The doctor at the ER took blood work which was all normal and he told me I had a panic attack!, neck pain, and fatigue...I couldn't believe he told me I had a panic attack...I was asleep for goodness sakes. I have been hurting so bad that I was thinking I had something really serious. I hurt all over so bad that I can't even express it. I am so glad that all of you posted these side effects or I would not have known what was causing my problems. I will NEVER take that stupid drug EVER again and I hope they take it off the market. I hope someone will do something about this drug before it hurts more people like it has hurt all of us...I pray that you all will heal from the problems this medication has caused you.

This is just plain rude and talk about petty. Please, raise your standards here and remember what this site is about for God's sake. I think that you should remember that when post things like this here, new folks coming in are likely completely confused or think that someone such as yourself has just plain lost it.

If you want to be supportive of other women like yourself, as you are clearly in a rant, than exercise less judgement and some kindness for goodness sakes. Everyone here is trying to be helpful. And I would definately say that your comments are about the least refined, helpful or thoughtful in months of coming to this site. If anyone is trying to get some help, it certainly helps for all of us to hear how long someone has been on, off or trying to come off. There is nothing "petty" about that and many women that do find it helpful.

I have no idea who you are, where you come from or what your "hell" has been like on yasmin but it certainly sounds like it is still taking its toll if the way you are coming across says anything. While personal experiences are helpful, so is information. I also don't even know who all the folks are who have been posting but I discovered that alot of what is there-highlights a good majority of the symptoms I experience and many of the other women here have.

While being more "touched" may help you, for others, havinng "information" to apply may be just as valuable to others. Ya follow?

Sarah, I think that making your own site is helpful and am consistently impressed by your level of maturity and kindness and wanting to reach out and help others.

Whoever this person is that made this post, I certainly hope that you get the help and support that you need as you sound rather crude and out of control. Good luck to you.

Its really so disappointing when women do this kind of thing with eachother. Really. Keep your chin up will you. For all of us, you set an example.

I, too, am beginning to wonder about singulair.
My grandson was put on it several months ago..we took him off it in May when the majority of things causing his allergies had already passed. He, too, was having fits of anger over the slightest thing.
His poptarts were gone so he would run into the bathroom and slam the door...simple things like that...after we took him off it his whole personality changed. He became sweet and loving all the time...(Although the doctors said it could not have caused any of the emotional distress he was going though.)
He is only 4 for goodness sakes. Anyways, last week he had a bout of coughing and runny nose so they put him back on it.
After only two days he was back to the same horrible child.
So, you cannot tell me that the singulair is not the cause.
Isn't there something else that they can give them for allergies that would not produce these symptoms?

I have been on Zocor for nearly four years. Was recently switched to Vytorin which is a combo Zocor/Zetia drug. I am on max doses and always have been...my cholestorol issues are genetic.

I have had extreme leg cramping, body aches, mood swings, night sweats, hot flashes, you name it including a possible early and forced slide into menopause (my latest battle). All of your side effects mentioned in each posting is a side effect that the docs don't tell you about and they will only treat you like you are crazy each time you call in and complain of a pain they can't find an answer to. I remember that docs thought I had lupus for goodness sakes and tried to give me MORE meds for that. I refused - I knew better!

I am only 33 and have been on statins since I was 18. With more info that comes out and the ability to learn about others' side effects, I have finally decided that I am going to stop all meds and try to find some other answer. Glyconutrients for one! No one should live this way and eventually you will rather a heart attack to these side effects. The longer you are on them, the worse they get. You will notice that if you stop taking them all that you will start to see side effects start to decrease after about two weeks.

Good luck and please, if anyone has any natural meds to suggest, with proven blood tests results, I would love to hear about them.
