I am a 48 year old female with a-fib. I am not overweight...just started falling apart since now I am menopausal. I've been on Warfarin for 6 weeks. My INR has hardly moved. I'm now on 8 mg and have my INR test on Monday. I started at a 0.9. Now I'm at 1.20 and have been there for three weeks in spite of upping the warfarin. I've not changed my diet except to exclude greens and green tea when I began the therapy. Everything else is consistent.
I just started exercising again a week ago. Something I haven't done in five years since I lost my sister. I bought a Total Gym and enjoy it. It has helped me get some energy back, has helped alleviate some of the mental fog, and has lowered the incidence of anxiety attacks. (I've been getting anxiety lately...since the mental fog and memory lapses...that bothers me since I love to read and write and the mental fog seems to be taking the joy out of it now.) The reason I decided to start strength training again is because of the joint pain I have been experiencing lately. I didn't have it before warfarin. I do now. Only one joint, though. The strength training does help, but every once in awhile, that sharp pain comes back to visit. It's just a little less now.
I plan to tell the doctor that I have begun strength training again. Not just because it's good for me and my heart, but it seems to help with the side effects of menopause and warfarin...without adding another drug like an antidepressant.
Warfarin...I believe is a life saving drug. BUT, I have to do my part too.

BTW, if I didn't have triple thick hair, I would complain about hair loss. Right now, it's a non issue for me. Just saves money at the hair dresser.

I was given omeprazole (20mg twice a day) for suspected stomach ulcers - though I was not experiencing current symptoms. Initially my stomach felt calmer but I felt very tired. Over the next few days I got more tired, weak and depressed. I completely lost my appetite and food tasted all wrong, also my sense of smell went off (e.g I accused my son of cooking fish but it was bacon). The only food I fancied during taking the drug was pineapple. I did not like the sunlight and curled up in a darkened room for 3 days. Had very strange vivd dreams. Finally checked the side effects on the leaflet supplied and decided to stop taking it. The tiredness and depression stopped straight away and my appetite returned, but also that evening very bad indigestion and burning which I had not had before taking it. Maybe this is because the stomach is over reacting to acid suppression. I am going to try natural remedies and cut out tea coffee and smoking if possible. Still fancying pineapple! Strange that though it's acidic itself, it seems to soothe the burning. Also fancying yogurt, greens, licorice, bananas and honey (not all together!) which I notice from other sites may be beneficial. Taking milk thistle to clear the drug out of my liver. Any feedback from people who have tried alternatives to this horrible drug?

I was taking warfarin for about 2 months 8 mg daily due to a blood clot in my left arm, i also have witnessed headaches, dizziness, always tired and fatigue. I also told the doctor about all this and he said it's not the medicine, I don't know what else it could of been because i wasn't taking any other medication. my life remained the same as previous with the exception of the warfarin. Anyway, i discontinued taking the medication because it was killing me to take it. I will now have to take my chances.

My daughter has been ill for the past two years. Please check out other postings by me on this site. Chelation Therapy will help - Gluten-free, Sugar-free. NO CORN SYRUP (alum. in it). Start eating fruits and fruit juices and greens. If the greens upset you stomach too much, back off until you have been gluten-free for a longer period. Take these vitamins and drink only distilled/bottled water. B6, B12, Omega 3, Folic Acid,
Magnesium, Calcium. These should start you on the way to recovery. If you see a doctor, please ask them to check niacin levels because I believe that there is a link with a niacin impairment issue. Please check more at ****** if you want additional information and also file a VAERS report immediately so they will get this vaccine off the market! I am not a medical person but have done tons of research. Please pass the word to EVERYONE you know!

My then 11 year old daughter received her first vaccine in June 2007, and third in December 2007. In January 2008, she began complaining of backaches and headaches. During the spring/summer 2008, she began having tremors, tingling and numbness in her legs and arms. She is always tired and never feels good. We have seen a neurologist and 2 neurosurgeons, had CT scans and MRIs. But no answers. She is on medication that has helped slightly, but she still suffers from a constant headache that she never ranks less that 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. Typically she rates it as a 7 or 8, and we have had a couple of 12s.

I've been taking Topamax now for about 6 weeks, and my headaches are still just as bad as ever, except now I have headaches with the thrill of numb fingers, confusion, weight loss, memory loss, an absolute horrid taste in my mouth, and now the latest.... my hands feel dirty all the time. Has anyone experienced this?? I just feel like my hands are dirty. I wash them, and a half hour later, it almost feels like there's a film on them, and I have to wash them again. Almost ocd-ish. So 6 weeks in.... Anyone have any advise on how much longer I should give this topamax before I give up on it & try something else? My doc said it should have worked by now if it was gonna - but I have read on here, that it sometimes can take months...? I just don't know if I can take these side effects, AND the headaches for much longer without going NUTS! {grin}
Any advise?

Water retention, abdominal and thigh cramps, fatigue, mental fog. Try juicing greens, eating almonds, blueberries, garlic, eating the majority of foods raw, take plant sterols, lots of fruits and vegetables, fish oil, Complex B, and other supplements as needed. This happens because we are not eating the right foods and because we are eating mostly cooked foods, and in this way, we strip the foods from their medicinal value. We come from the Earth, and the Earth feeds and protect us. We are drifting too much away from nature and indulging into to much sugar, and processed foods which have so many preservatives, which can lead to many chronic and deadly diseases, including high cholesterol. Eating mostly raw foods allows for a high content of enzymes, minerals and vitamins in their natural form, to work to repair tissue and keep us healthy. And the best of it, I have as much vegetable juice as I want. I prefer to take the fruits in the morning. In addition, I have found that drinking Barley grass, even the bottled Green Magma, has been extremely beneficial. When I juice I am never hungry, and my body thanks me as to, "tabout time."

Please don't send your email address to LARRYHOR; he's compiling an e-mail list for spamming purposes...if he was serious he would just name the "2 nutrients" and "1 vitamin". What a fraud!

Anyway, I've been on Lipitor for 3 months (10 mg tablet daily) and my bad cholesterol has seen a substantial decline, with no side effects. I plan on getting off Lipitor soon. And I've changed my diet , too, which may have helped quite a bit (a lot less animal protein, a lot more greens)!
