I have my IUD in for about a little over a month and yes the pain of getting the mirena in was HORRIBLE, i had to stay on his office for 30 minutes after the insertion because i thought i was going to pass out. Cramping for a couple days then that went away, as far as having my period i would have to say i have had it the whole time, wearing a pad all day every day for as long as i have had the mirena is very irritating and disgusting. the doctor said wait 3-6 months to see the true side effects ok, i had the same thing when i tried the Implnan same symptoms bleeding the whole time, foul smelling discharge um that lasted about 3 months and i got that taken out, and decided to do the mirena. Anyway i have a couple yeast infections since i have gotten this thing in, i have never had a yeast infection in my whole life huh i wonder why but the dr tells me it is not from the mirena. Then another symptom came into play i was having trouble peeing i would feel like i had to go really bad i would get bloated and so i tried to go and i could only go a little and it burned. i would feel like i had to go really bad and i couldn't so again i called my dr and he just called me in meds for a UTI, ok finished a weeks worth of those meds and guess what the next week i started getting the same feelings back so then i actually went to the doctors and he did an exam an told me it was my bladder. no i have had numerous UTI wen i was a kid and from all the ones i had as a child i had to get surgery b/c my one kidney was damaged from my UTI'S. so i went to have my urine tested and he put me on the same drugs again 3 days went by i finally called the dr and come to find out um I AM FINE THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ME NO UTI, but he wants me to finish the pilss FOR WHAT?? So i am really thinking about getting this thing out.i go and get groceries and carry a couple bags out to my car i start to bleed just carrying milk that is pathetic. so by me reading everything that people wrote here i am calling the doctor 2morrow to get this out. oh yes he is going to say it has nothing to do with the mirena, but like one woman said you know your body!!!!

After reading this, I cannot believe that anyone would prescribe this medication. I was prescribed this by an Urgent Care physician, after a round of Augmentin didn't help my sinus infection/ear infection/bronchitis. The doctor prescribed it to me WITH a STEROID!!!! Hello, anyone with eyeballs can read that that is an absolute NO-NO. By day three my legs felt like someone had ran them over with a semi truck. So sore and weak that I couldn't stand for over 5 minutes at a time. I felt like my feet were crushing under the weight of my body, and my knees were buckling in, unable to hold my own body (I am not overweight). I also have had SEVERAL reconstructive knee operations that included tendon repair. I recently fractured my foot and knee in a fall, recovered well, and now it feels like I just fractured it all over again. Being a single mother of 2, with a 14 stair climb up to my apartment, this is pure hell. I called the Urgent Care facility who prescribed the medication and was told to call back on Monday and speak with my primary physician. I am now using my Oxycodone to ease the pain (which is hardly touching it) due to the adverse affects of using NSAIDS, bed bound with ice packs under and on top of both legs. Wonder if Bayer or the IDIOT doctor are going to take my kids to school tomorrow, carry my groceries up the stairs, or work my job that I just got, where I am on my feet 8-10 hrs a day?
I wonder if there is a class action lawsuit yet? Think I might look into it if this doesn't subside.

I had my baby in April 2009 and after my six weeks I was already back down to my desired weight a week later I got the mirena and started to gain it all back I asked the doctor at my 3mth follow up and he said weight gain was not a side effect I have just continued to gain weight to where everyone says are you pregnant it seems to just be in my abdominal area. Also I believe that I am losing a lot of hair from this medication, when I take a shower my drain gets clogged and when I brush my hair I have to clean it every time because I have lost so much. I don't know if memory loss is a symptom but I have a lot of that and I am tired all the time I feel so lazy.I have severe back pain that shoots through my back to the front of my abdomen. I have experienced pain during sex.
I've had is the massive mood swings I go from 0 to 10 in .01 seconds and cannot control it. My life is a wreck I am on a roller coaster with my boyfriend of 8 yrs. We have gotten along really well and ever since I have been on the Mirena I have acted so crazy. I never want to leave my house I flip oy on him for things that have no validity. I can't go in the store shopping for anything groceries cloths nothing I have anxiety like no other I start sweating and feel like I need to get out of there I feel like I have been there for hours and have to go fast.

About 3 weeks ago I reached my breaking point. I was cramping really bad and I never have had cramps then I went to bed the next day I woke up and could not move I felt as if I had the most severe flu like symptoms ever. I had 104 temp chills low blood pressure. I was freezing cold but sweating like no other. I tried to stick it out took some aleve and theraflu they did not help. I was shaking like I was in a freezer but my body was burning up. My head felt like it was going to explode. I was vomiting but I could not eat so I had nothing to throw up. So the next morning I woke up after not really getting any sleep I felt miserable I had my boyfriend take me to the emergency room I felt so bad I could not even get myself dressed my boyfriend had to even put my shoes and socks on. At the emergency room they took my vitals my blood pressure was 54/92 and even got lower than that. My pulse was 140 my temp was 103.9 ..basically they said if I had not come in I would be dead. They took some urine and blood and there was an infection in my urine so they started me on antibiotics then they told me something was abnormal in my liver, I do not drink but maybe once a month if that usually just on occasions so I did not understand what was wrong with my liver they said I had to be admitted for 2 days to do some blood tests and keep an eye on my liver issues. After 30 tubes of blood they said I had bacteria in my blood which most likely inflamed my liver, they think the bacteria was from a uti I had developed.All the tests came back negative for the liver problems it was just inflammed. So my fever stayed and my blood pressure had gotten as low as 54/86 my blood sugar was 161 they even had to give me insulin.I ended up being in the hospital for SIX days. I am a ver7y healthy person I have never even been sick a day in my life beside the morning sickness from being pregnant with my first child, so I knew something was out of the normal. Then when I got out I researched the side effects of Mirena and I feel like I have been under advised there are so many more side effects than I was informed of. While the whole reason for me sharing my life-threatening hospital stay was because one of the side effects is Sepsis this is a severe illness in which the bloodstream is overwhelmed by bacteria.Which symptoms are Chills

Sepsis is caused by a bacterial infection that can begin anywhere in the body. Common places where an infection might start include:

These are all the symptoms I was having and I did have bacteria in my blood I believe the mirena did this to me.
So I dont know if anyone else has experienced this but THIS IS NOT WORTH MY LIFE I have an appointment Dec 3 to get the Mirena removed but I would like to take legal action because this is unexceptable and I BELIEVE MIRENA ALMOST TOOK MY LIFE.

I was given Topamax, told to take 1 pill a day then start on 2 the next week....

I could not get out of bed, when I could maneuver out of my home to shop for groceries - I nearly snapped someone's head off, for no reason

I've been on seroquel since 1997. In periods of stress I sleep cook, sleep eat and sometimes sleep drive out to shop for groceries. I just got off the medicine about a week ago while hospitalized. I strongly suggest it be taken off the market. Are the attorneys aware of this side effect?

My girlfriend is 36 she had a kidney infection and got Levaquin IV in the hospital. Her legs were going numb and she could hardly get up to go to the bathroom in the hospital. She thought it was her infection. They sent her home two days later with 5 pill containers. One of them was Levaquin. She called me today and said she is having terrible pains in her hands, wrists, hips, and knees. She says she cant make a fist or hold a bag of groceries and her hands have swollen up so that she cant get her rings off. I told her I would do a search on the net to see if it might be one of the drugs she was taking. Slowly but surely I made it to the Levaquin. The drug maker fairly non chalantly refers to tendon rupture as a side effect effecting mostly people over 60 years old. I dug a little further and found this web site and was amazed at how many people are being poisoned by this drug. I am praying if she stops taking it the pain and debilitating effects will go away quickly. She has two disabled boys she has to take care of, including lifting them into wheel chairs and into beds. This is no joke! I am so angry at this drug maker and these doctors who often times do more harm than good.

Having panic attacks. I had a problem with these years ago and defeated the issues. Then I started getting them again over things that never used to bother me. Like going to get groceries at the same place I had been going to for years. I thought the problems I had conquered has suddenly come back. I am on my 10th month on them and had good help with pain from what the doctor thinks could possibly be reoccurence of endometriosis but if they are causing the anxiety and I am always at home because I am nervous or in a panic then I don't know what else to try.

Bleeding Gums, Severe Leg Cramping, Yeast Rashes, Sleeplessness, Blurred Vision:

I am a 49 year old woman who was recently prescribed Advair for asthma control. I also have severe allergies. My gums began bleeding almost immediately so I worried that I wasn't rinsing my mouth well enough. I stopped the Advair for a several days since in my mind, that was the culprit. Then my breathing/wheezing/persistent cough came back. So, I started back on my Advair and then started almost immediately having the worst leg cramps of my life. After figuring out that this new symptom correlated to my Advair use, I stopped it again cold turkey. I also am not sleeping over about an hour at a time despite my taking Ambien as well as anti-anxiety meds (I have Bipolar Disorder (Depression alternating with Manic Episodes) as well as Anxiety Disorder). Oh yes, and I developed weird yeast rashes underneath my breasts, on my inner thighs and behind my ears....despite if not being hot at all. I have never had this type of rash before or even been troubled with yeast infections. I also just noticed today that my vision is more blurred when trying to read the guide on my TV (42"). I have had no weight gain...in fact am losing weight..but have been watching what I eat. I don't feel more depressed...in fact, I feel the opposite...kinda euphoric at times..which feels good but can be a step towards mania for me. I decided to do a bit of research on Advair as a cause of the leg cramps...my persistent cough is back but I am afraid to take it now. I guess I need to talk to my allergist tomorrow.

Where to start! I started Yasmin in Sept. of 2005. So I've been on it 2 and a half years. Things were fine for a while. It did what it was supposed to do, including no weight gain. That's how its been marketed here, so that's why i got it. Nothing has happened all of a sudden. Its all creeped up on me very slowly. Headaches, pressure in my sinuses, tiredness...all pretty simple. But here's the thing. I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression and put on Prozac. The Prozac didnt help. I came off it. Now here's the more troubling symptoms I've experienced. Heart Palpitations, squeezing in my chest making it hard to breathe, increased fear and anxiety (which cause heart attack-like symptoms which can more commonly be described as a panic attack). I've had my finger on the 911 buttons several times in the last 8 months. Now I'm discovering the joy of incontinence. Do you have any idea what its like to be in the store buying groceries and then all of a sudden there's a puddle of number 2 around your shoe? I do. I'm 23. Abdominal pain, stomach distension, constipation followed by diarrhea. Hair loss. Cold feet. LOSS OF SEXUAL DRIVE! My God!

I've said all this to my doctor. He ran blood for everything, there's nothing wrong with me medically. X-rays, mri's, cat scans, ekg's. Nothing nothing nothing. I changed doctors and told the new doctor my story. He figures that because i was put on Prozac for depression, that I must have developed Hypochondria (aka extreme paranoia and a belief that I'm terminally ill). Not true, I know its not terminal, i just need to be put on a new pill. My husband and I have regular sex, he's allergic to latex, and even those non-latex condoms. We're not ready for babies yet, so I dont know what to do. But if this helps someone else, then taking the time to write this was worth it. And as a side note, if you're on the pill and have the choice, and your doc wants to put you on prozac...Don't do it. Try switching your pill first.

Been on Prednisone for 3 years now for ulcerative colitis. At first tolerated the drug quite well. But after a few months started to gain weight, acne. After 3 years of yo-yoing between large and low doses, each increase in dose made me feel worse. I am now at a state of osteopenia and of extreme tiredness and brain fog. I see 80yo with more energy than I. I cant walk up 10 sets of stairs without feeling tired out. I need to sleep 3-5 hours a day just in order to function. As mentioned before brain fog is amazingly bad. I'm a scientific researcher which can no longer work.

Prednisone has introduced to me what panic attacks are, mood swings, joint pain and swelling, extreme muscle fatigue and wasting, blurry vision, in habitual eating habits, depression.

This drug has ruined my life. I would have preferred having surgery to remove the colon and going to the toilet 10 times a day rather than not living as brain fog and tiredness that makes my life a dream-state nightmare.

I never thought about Vytorin being an issue until I went to the ear, nose and throat guy the other day for an earache and bronchitis I had been having for the last month. Reviewing my chart, he said what ever you have heard in the news about Vytorin just ignore and keep taking it. Long story short, every since August I have been having what the doctors might think is MS, but they can't peg it. Tremors and seizures, constant pain in my legs and arms, a vision problem, tired all the time, numbness in my face legs and arms, headaches, depression. the list goes on. I had stomach problems but they could never find anything wrong for my feeling sick all the time, so I'm on another med for that. I was just hospitalized again, this time for pancreatitis, again they have no idea why this occurred, they can't explain it. I just know that I am tired of feeling like crap and being sick and being in the hospital all the time. I am going to talk to my doctors about being pulled off the Vytorin and we will see how I feel then. Plus I guess I need to consult my attorney also.

I am getting mine removed FRIDAY!! And Friday can't come soon enough. I am kinda bummed tho for having to go back on the pill but I can't hack this ANY LONGER!!! One of my friends works for a GP and I went to him because of some of my side effects. The flu like symptoms minus having the flu (had it for at least 2 to 3 mos now) NO sex drive (causing trouble with my marriage. Hubby is taking it WAY to personal), swelling in my hands, feet, legs, and face. (my face will feel flush and BAM I'm swollen!!) VERY BAD MOOD SWINGS!!! Very Bad isn't the word for it!! There are no words to explain my moods!! ANYHOW..... I sent this to my friend to read and she pulled it up at work. Well the GP said that this isn't a reliable place to go for information on the side effects. "There are NO positive side effects to anything." Which is true BUT he seems to think going to Web MD or some sight like that is more reliable than here. And that this sight shouldn't scare me and he wouldn't urge me to have it removed after reading this. (OH YEAH I forgot to mention joint pain, I have HORRIBLE joint pain in my hands, wrists, elbows, knees, ankles, and feet. The worst of it is in my wrists and elbows) Back to what I was saying. To that (this sight not being reliable) I say go to Web MD and post there too! I pray that I can get back to me after this comes out!! I hope it don't take too long either! I MISS the old me and HATE the new me!! But FRIDAY HURRY UP AND GET HERE. And for anyone who has had it removed........ anything I should be repaired for??? Thanks for your time!

headaches , dry mouth, vivid dreams ending in sweats. sweat so much i need a towel to dry off, i dont get it. im taking 37.5mg each day. i dont feel good at all(( not suicidal no way) after a year and a half on the paxil cr. at first it helped to postpone anxiety attacks so that i could function and get groceries. whats happening now i have no idea but im told i will be on this long term even tho i have expressed that i want to get down to a minimum dosage of like 10 or 12 mg.
