I am 26 years old and have 3 and 1/2 month old son. i recently had mirena inserted and will be having it removed first thing tomorrow when i call the doctors office. i have ready numerous blogs and have a hair loss problem as well. I know that after u birth a child u loose hair as well as when its cold out as the air changes and may cause ur hair to be more dry and break etc. That is not the case here, my hair line on both sides is thinning as well as the front top part of my hair line.when i wash my hair it comes out way to easily and not the normal shedding when u wash and scrub ur hair. I have very long, thick thick hair so it took a few weeks to notice, but i know this is not normal. The first thing u can do is go to the fda website and find ur region complaint line number and call and report it. they take this serious, as they called me back a few minutes after i left my info with the young lady on the phone. if it is not reported to them they don't know to pull the product. it is even posted on the mirena web page to report any side affects u feel are not normal, or something along those lines. drug reps are surely not going to tell ur doctor this is more common then the 5% the info on the web page says. If u do not know medical terms or what u are looking for, ur likely not to see it and its not listed in "common" side affects like it needs to be. Please help by calling the fda in ur area so that this can be further looked into. i have only had the iud for 7 weeks and already notice this and caught it. I have read a ton of post on other pages and feel so bad that so many people did not catch it for awhile. Like most said, they thought age or an imbalance in their body was the causing factor. if i find more info i will post, hope this helps, and if u have any info for me please send it-

I have been on apri for about two years now. I am 21 working college student and was happy with apri for the first year of taking it but in the past 6 months to the past year some side affects have became a problem. I am constantly overly tired and lazy with a complete lack of motivation. I have also had a serious hair loss problem to the point where my mom noticed overly thin hair all of the sudden. I am over all happy with apri but I miss having my normal daily energy. Apri has helped my periods-shorter and lighter with little cramping and my sex drive is fine. Mood swings have increased where I also get irritated way more dramatically over little/nothing things. I am thinking about going off of BC completely for two months to see how it will change me to see if its worth the hair loss, mood swings and complete lack of energy.

I HAVE BEEN ON LOESTRIN FE 24 FOR 2 YEARS NOW AND HAVE THE SAME ISSUES BUT A LOT OF HAIR LOSS, ALL BLOOD WORK HAS CAME BACK NORMAL AND THE ONLY THING I CAN LINK TO THIS HAIR LOSS PROBLEM IS THIS PILL. AFTER REVIEWING MANY OF THE SAME ISSUES OF HAIR LOSS, NO LIBIDO, BLOAT, WEIGHT GAIN. I'VE COME TO REALIZE I NEED TO BE OFF OF THIS PILL.
I HAD A FULL HEAD OF HAIR AND NOW PRIOR TWO YEARS AGO AND NOW I HAVE THIN HAIR THAT FALLS OUT AND WILL NOT GROW.

I have had EXTREME hair loss and I did not know what from. I never thought it was my advair. I checked all of my other medications and only one other one said there was a possibility of hair loss (PREVACID) so I went off of that but my hair was still falling out. I have been so desperate that I scheduled and appointment to see a dermatologist tomorrow. Today I happened to google "advair/hair loss" and I cannot believe all of the articles that came up with people expressing the correlation.
I have been so depressed from this hair loss. I had the thickest, shiniest hair and now I barely have a pony tail. I wear hats all of the time because I am embarrassed. It has been totally devastating.
What I need to know is which other asthma medication will NOT cause hair loss so I can switch? Too bad I just dropped $100 on a 3-month supply of Advair and now cannot use it.
Also, those of you who went off the Advair, how long did it take for you to experience hair growth or it not falling out?

wow!
it sounds like everybody hates topamax from all the posts that i read... although i didnt read them all...

anyway, at first i had the memory loss thing but it seems to be ok now. i think i always had memory problems though, but it did get worse for the first couple months on topamax and then a little worse when my doc upped my dose. although now i think that my body may have gotten used to it, bc i feel a bit back to normal with my memory.

i also have the leg tingling. mainly i notice something like a slight throbbing if i put my foot down too suddenly, but it doesnt actually hurt. i notice the actual tingling in my legs/feet when i drink though, but only when i drink.

what else? oh, the hair loss. ALTHOUGH, this could also be from my dying my hair a lot... bc i have always had a hair loss problem, but i think the topamax accelerated it.

however, these side effects arent enough for me to get off the drug until my doc thinks so. i had migraines every week or more. horrible ones where i had to stop what i was doing and lie down. i missed a lot of school , missed a lot of work... sometimes they would last for more than a day. i needed help. now i only get migraines during that time of the month, and several docs have said its bc of the lack of estrogen... even when i get those migraines i only get the symptoms , not the pain. i dont even have to take anything. i have my life back... haha, i sound like a lifetime story or a commercial. anyway, i <3 my topamax and im just going to start taking a biotin supplement to prevent hair loss until i can get off this drug when it is time.

i have really been concerned about my hair loss for couple of months. to the point that am seeing thinning hair all over my body. i just read this forum online and started to realize that i have been on singulair for about 1 and 1/2 year. i have noticed excessive hiar loss since last year july. I first thought that i was just stressed out ut reading all you guys's comments on singulair i am starting to think that it could be the reason. i have noticed that i have to unclog drain a couple of times while taking a shower. I am horrified. My eyelashes have started thinning and it is noticeable. I am having mood swing and sudden outburst of uncontrollable anger. Is there any one else having similar hair loss problem. i am going to talk to my primary physician in july but i am not sure that i should quit taking it until then or go ahead and ask physician at my appointmemt. please somebody help me if you know any more information about singulair and hair loss?
