I am 45 years old. I get the impression many of the ladies here are younger, as they speak of having younger children, so I will tell my side from a bit more "mature" (ie older!) perspective:
Had Mirena for a little over 9 months. My two MAIN side effects were a development of terrible cystic acne on my face, back, shoulders, hairline, behind my ears and straight down my spine, ending in a nice lovely rash just above my tailbone. These things were deep, solid knots under the skin, not average little pimples. Worse acne I've ever had, and at my age too!
Second, profuse sweating under my breasts and lower back, again just at my tailbone, right above my butt. After drying off from a shower, I'd run my hand back there and still feel soaked. This did not seem related to hot flashes. Just sweating, and I think that contributed to the acne, which was beginning to leave scars it was so deep.
I do feel like I gained weight, my pants were much tighter and I just felt bloated all the time.
Fortunately, no hair loss or emotional side effects. I've had anxiety for years and take Ativan (lorazepam) which keeps it pretty much under control. No loss of sex drive either. It seems there are a distinct set of side effects, and some get them in different combination than others, but we're ALL getting them one way or the other!
OBGYN said as the Mirena is only progesterone, I was missing the estrogen which were the 2 components of the pill I took for years with no trouble. He gave me a Rx for a low dose of estrogen. Now I am getting what I had in the pill in 2 separate forms, and having these awful side effects on top of it. It didn't help.
So I had Mirena removed 6 days ago. Luckily he found the strings, told me to cough, and pulled it out, no pain! I immediately went back on Alesse BC pill that same day, so no break in hormones, but I handled the BC pill fine all those years, so I"m just going back on it. Have been bleeding ever since removal, but I figure that is just my body "getting back at me" for not having periods for months. My first real one, due in about 3 weeks following the pill schedule will probably be the period from hell. Ok, I accept that. My uterus wants to get this poison toxic mess out of me, and I'm ok with that.
I'm crossing my fingers that I will miss the "crash" I've read so much about. As it seems to be mostly psychological, and I didn't have those side effects to begin with, maybe it won't be so bad, or at all. Of course that could just be wishful thinking on my part! So far, 6 days of having it out of me and I already feel 100% better! My face cleared up in a matter of days. The sweating stopped immediately. My pants are looser, although I still weigh the same. The bloated feeling is gone. I just feel thinner. Before, my profile in the mirror looked like I was 4 months pregnant! That too is going down quick. Good luck to all who have it removed. Things can only get better!
And don't let any doctor tell you you can't have it out! It's your body! You can demand whatever you want, especially if you feel like it is making you sick! Do not take no for an answer. You don't even owe them an explanation. Just a "Sorry, it's not for me..." at the most.
Good luck to all....

I had the Mirena for 5yrs & had it replaced this past April. I had loved it (no menses) but little did I know of the adverse side effects that were plaguing me. I always had some depression, but wrote it off to cyclical hormones; cystic acne that seemed to be getting worse as the years went by; heart palpitations; NO libido; anxiousness. All this seemed to happen slowly over time for me. Once I had the new one inserted, I started noticing the part in my hair was becoming thinner, like balding; developed an eczema/rash on the back of my neck at the hairline; I felt like my hay fever was non-stop & got an ear infection/sinusitis for the first time ever; then the headaches which most recently turned into a migraine with visual changes coupled with insomnia. And I ached all over like I had the flu all the time. I had no clue that the Mirena could do this until I started researching & read the PHYSICIAN insert info! I discovered that out of 21 "adverse effects" I had at least 13 of them! I was mortified - being a Ob/Gyn RN, I felt I was really misled by the manufacturer & my doctors. I could not take the headaches & insomnia any longer. A week ago, desperate & could not wait until an appt., I went into the bathroom, pulled the strings myself & removed the sucker (being a RN, I have to tell you not to do that; I was willing to take the heat should something bad happen!). Over this last week, a HUGE difference for the better. NO headaches, insomnia, body aches, skin is clearing & my mood is getting better. I actually am feeling frisky for my hubby even (who by the way will be having a vasectomy in the next couple weeks & was fully supportive of me doing this). I am so disappointed as I LOVED the no period thing, but I am not willing to risk my well-being over that!

I have been on Lipitor for almost 5 years. I started with a low dose of 10mg for 3 years but my cholesterol did not come down significantly enough so the dose was increased to 20mgs two years ago. I have noticed my hair thinning almost immediately after being put on Lipitor but when the dose was increased the hair started falling out where now it is noticeable, at the front along the hairline, on top and at temples. It has become another problem, at this point, like having high cholesterol. It seems to be happening now at an accelerated rate and my scalp is visible from my hairline 3 inches back. Styling is now impossible without coming the hair all the way forward from the crown, what's left of it. I had no idea hair loss was a symptom of Lipitor until I thought about when it started and the fact I take no other medications. There is no history of this type of hair loss in my family. The Lipitor brought my cholesterol level down to preferred levels but if I stay on it much longer I will be bald on the top and sides of my head. I'm worried it won't grow back.

I am so glad to have found this site. We are taking my 2 1/2 year old son off Singulair immediately. He has been experiencing a rash on and around his ears, around his hairline, back of his neck and shoulders, down his arms to his wrists and on his face and below his chin - almost everywhere above the neckline. At first we thought it was a reaction Singulair and took him off the medication. When it didn't subside, we took him to his pediatrician's and they told us it was a heat rash due to a reaction to sunscreen and sweat. Since I have had that reaction myself, we agreed with the doctor's diagnosis. We restarted him on Singulair and the rash only got worse. We've taken him off the Singulair and will be contacting his allergy/asthma doctor immediately about this reaction. We are not sure if he has experienced other side effects - we have seen an increase in him crying when he goes down for bed and wanting to snuggle, as well as not wanting to be touched on the legs (not sure if that's due to his scraped knees or not). Unfortunately, it's difficult to get a 2 1/2 year old to tell you exactly where it hurts.
Thanks for the information - we now know that we were correct in the beginning and that our son does not have to go through this any longer and can enjoy his summer.

Significant hair loss has caused thinning around my face & entire hair line. Within weeks of taking Ambien CR... Woke up daily with headaches, mood changes, depression.....
I am a licensed NYS Cosmetologist. I know what is normal hair loss & what is not. It started with itching on my whole scalp, there was a lot of white greasy almost dandruff substance on my scalp. It didn't flake off like normal dandruff though. Then I noticed my hairline was not what it would normally be. Each time I brushed my hair the brush was filled with more hair daily... I stopped taking the Ambien CR, the itch went away almost immediately & so did the hair loss. I thought I'd give it one more try & took 1 pill one night. The next day the itch came back, so did the white greasy substance on my scalp & my hair started to fall out again.......... Went to my Dr told her what was going on & she didn't even blink, just asked if I wanted something else for sleep. I said no thank you not after this experience. Went back on Advil PM, not sleeping as well as I was, but at least my hair isn't falling out any more. Just keep hoping it will grow back in, has anyone had their hair grow back???

i have been taking Wellbutrin xl for 10 days.I broke out with itchy red warm whelps that vary in size all over my body. I started around hairline, neck and wrist. Next day it moved to stomach, under breast and armpits and legs. day 3 its now on my face. Benadryl helps some but as soon as it wears off the rash appears again. I have been experiencing major heartburn as well. Doctor said because it took 10 days to break out , he doesn't believe it is the medicine. I take absolutely nothing else other than 1 a day vitamin.
He prescribed prednisone for rash relief. So we will see if this works , but after this web site , I am going to stop the Wellbutrin. Its not worth the itchy splotchy rash. Driving me Crazy!!!

53 year old, otherwise healthy Type1 diabetic. HCA1 scores are typically 6.5-6.7. I lead an active, athletic lifestyle, with no circulation issues. Prior to Lisinopril, I have never experienced allergic responses to meds, hives or any similar issues. I have never experienced blood pressure issues; but Doc suggested Lisinopril for preventative maintenance, protecting kidneys. I took Lisinopril 5 mg. once daily, for almost 5 months without issues. In the middle of month 5, Urticaria appeared around mid-calf area, accompanied by a nerve-racking itch. In the next 2 weeks, itching started in hairline of scalp, moving spreading all the way down to ankles. I was almost 2 weeks into an elimination diet before discovering on a blog that urticaria was a possible side effect of Lisinopril. Discontinued Lisinopril 1.5 weeks ago, several days after starting 30mg Cetirizine & 30mg Loratadine . Itching is still present; but all urticaria have subsided, save for scalp. Menthol has been the only effective comfort for the itching.
Prior to taking Lisinopril, my only urticaria experience originated from exposure to poison ivy. I am convinced Lisinopril is the root cause.

I'm on Wellbutrin since August and I've been loosing lots of hair lately. At the beginning of the loss I didn't give it much importance until about a week ago when pulling my hair back in my usual ponytail I notice that my hairline moved back noticeably, and that my already thin hair was barely covering my scalp...I thought it was stress or something, but I've never seen my hair weak and little like that. Then I thought at the meds I'm taking and googled "wellbutrin and hair loss". A super long list of web pages (including this) were talking about this side effect of Wellbutrin. Now I'm worried not just for my hair loss, but to the process of adaptation of my body to a potential change of medicinal. What should I do? My doctor is in Italy and cannot check on me personally.
Thanks for sharing

I had the Mirena coil fitted in Dec 06. For 12 months, I had horrid slutchy loss P.V but no actual periods. I had increase in spots, all along my jawline and hairline and cheeks....acne at 45!! Something I'd never had as a teenager. My weight has gained because I'm always, always hungry and seem to have lost my appetite control button. My breasts are constantly tender and feel enormous like just before a period or in early pregnancy. I am so, so tired. I find myself nodding off at 5pm even when I've had a really good previous nights' sleep. My energy is zilch. I feel tearful and run down despite eating well and taking vitamin supplements. Is it the Mirena? My doctor has said "No!". The only way to find out is have it removed, return to heavy periods and suck it and see! However, if I don't have it out, I fear I may reach 15 stone!! (went from 9st 9lbs to 11st 4lbs in 2 yrs).

I am on prednisone frequently for respiratory infections as I have a chronic lung condition. I was just hospitalized for a week and on 80 mg per day IV. I have tapered by 5 mg every 3rd day. I have a rash in my hairline and actually in my hair. I have blurry vision, insomnia, cravings for food, weight gain, puffy face, swollen stomach, and pain so bad in my left hip joint that I can hardly bear weight.
In Aug, 2008, I had my right hip replaced from avascular necrosis caused by steroid use for my lung condition. I am worried that AVN is now also in my left hip. The steroids take the swelling down in my lungs so I can breathe, however they are destroying my bones. I am so scared of another hip surgery. I realize that I need to be thankful that my joints can be replaced, but it is a horrible side effect of this drug.

To make a long story short (I think). Taking Celexa (20 mg) for more than 4 years definitely caused decreased sexual sensations (numbed nerves), though it did change my life. In October Switched to Wellbutrin XL. Withdrawal from Celexa was not easy but Libido is definitely back. Problem is I am angry ALL the time at my husband. In fact, I've been angry almost from the get go from switching to Wellbutrin. I have also been puzzled by slight hair loss in the back of my head at the hairline. I have of late experienced abrupt halts in thought processes and my periods, though I am 45, have suddenly become irregularly. Frankly I didn't realize that Wellbutrin could likely be the cause of these symptoms until I read some of these posts. I really would like to wean off of this drug (was prescribed 300 mg but have taken 150 mg due to feelings of being 'wigged' out on higher dosage - did up the ante for just over a week to see if that would help but didn't seem to matter)...Nevertheless, I really think Wellbutrin is causing me to feel deep resentment toward my husband. This is not a usual emotion for me and it pretty well started immediately after I began taking Wellbutrin. I really could use your opinions(s). IS THE WELLBUTRIN causing the anger??? Did the Celexa simply MASK existing problems??? Is it a combination of both. Is this depression again or am I in the process of slipping back in??? (anger was not a previous symptom of my depression though black clouds, low esteem, doom and gloom and sadness were) Also, aside from anger and sheer resentment, I feel as if I'm spinning my wheels, that I'm in rut and that no matter how I try to move forward, I can't - I really feel lost and am so angry at my husband and see him in such a different way that it is almost to the point of being ridiculous). THANK-YOU so much for your replies.

Hi Everyone,
My experience with Mirena is still causing me distress, and I had it taken out on 9/1/08. I've been Mirena free for 5 months now, and still waiting for my hair to grow back. I do see some small, short hairs around my hairline, and I'm hoping that it's growing back, but maybe it's breakage? Any thoughts?
Here's my story: I have always had very heavy periods, so after one botched ablation two years ago, my doctor suggested Mirena. I had it placed in June, 2008. Almost exactly 3 months later, I figured out why my hair was falling out. Every time I brushed my teeth, I noticed how thin my hair had suddenly become. You could see each individual hair from the front of my hairline backward about 2 inches - each individual hair surrounded by lots of space! There was hair loss at the temples as well. I had my thyroid checked first, because my mother has a thyroid problem. My bloodwork was fine. I thought maybe my last highlight/foil might have caused it...but it was not breakage, it was an all-over thinning out. I finally realized that the only thing different was the Mirena, so I insisted it come out immediately. My doctor told me that at 45, I should expect thinning hair, which was probably the cause, not the Mirena. I told him to JUST GET IT OUT!
I really wish I had researched the matter beforehand, but am thankful that I put two-and-two together in a matter of months.
If anyone else has experienced hair loss, please post. We have to get the word out!

I set out this morning to do some internet research on women's hair loss and I am SO glad that I ended up here. My hair has been thinning slowly but surely - most noticeably right at my hairline and I'm pretty distraught. I have no history of baldness on either side of my family and I know this isn't a genetic issue. Anyway, I ended up on the American Hair Loss Association website which lists birth control as a culprit (never considered this - I'm 28 and I've been on the pill for 12 years). This made me decide to look into the side effects of my birth control which just happens to be...AVIANE (I didn't even know the name - that's how aware I was.) This is starting to sound like beating a dead horse, but I was on Alesse for 10 years with NO problems whatsoever. From 2006-2008 I was put on a generic form because I was under military healthcare. They basically gave me whatever generic they had "in stock" that day so I didn't even stay on a consistent generic birth control, which is bad news. I just thought I was turning into a crazy, emotional bitch who hated life because I moved away from my home and family for my husband's military career. I actually learned to make peace and manage it...until the hair loss. Call it vanity but that's where I draw the line. This part is key: I didn't see the consistent hair loss until I got on a steady stream of AVIANE. Once my husband got out of the military, I went to a regular obgyn but opted for the generic form of Alesse (so the say) just to save money (at the time I still haven't put it together that it's the bc that's been making me unhappy.) I've been on just AVIANE since July 2008 and started noticing hair loss around September 2008, have seen no regrowth and I think it's getting worse. That search led me here and I am so glad it did - on top of the balding, the last few months I have been moodier than normal, have small fits of rage (that fade quickly, thank god), have been mildly depressed and unable to really enjoy life, I've gained about 5 pounds without a lifestyle/diet/exercise change, I've had more cystic acne (although daily exfoliation has helped this immensely) and lo and behold, 2 days into the placebo week and I feel GREAT. I have one more week on this month's pack - I'm making a doctor's appointment on Monday and I am DONE with AVIANE.

I was on Diovan HCTZ for a number of years for my high blood pressure. It worked pretty well, keeping my b/p to around 130/80, it had been 158/90. The Diovan, since no generic is available, is expensive but I did have a prescription plan at the time. I recently retired and asked my doctor to switch me over to a generic medication to cut my cost. He put me on lisinopril hctz 20/12.5mg. I took it once a day and had great results with lowering my blood pressure. No side effects until the third month, I then began to notice a great deal of hair loss. Since I am 58, 15 years post menopausal, dye my hair, I thought maybe it was the dye (unusual since I have been using the same product for years). I started washing my hair every other day instead of daily. This did not help, I still had to vacumm my bathroom floor daily. At this point I looked up on the internet and found this site about the connection of lisinopril and hair loss. Being an RN I decided to cut the pills in half for a week and see what happened. Sure enough, my hair loss stopped. I then went to my doctor equipt with this information. I am now on HCTZ 25mg daily and taking my blood pressure 2x/day. My b/p stays around 140/80. I know I have to go back to the doctor next week to discuss what to do next because this is not working. Luckily I HAD very thick hair otherwise I would be bald. Does the hair grow back? Does anyone have any other medication they can suggest that does not have this side effect? Too bad, I was doing so good on the lisinopril with my b/p and it did not make me tired like the diovan did.

Oh God. i am on the Depo Provera shot. My daughter is 7, I have been rotating between the patch and the shot every other year, because the doctor says its not good to be on the shot for more than a year, something about osteoporosis. Mind you, I haven't had any problems before, but i have been back on the shot i wanna say 6 months, well whatever, i'm on my second dosage. And I am blowing up!And now that i am putting 2 and 2 together, I do have a lot of headaches. i don't know what to do. I have to have birth control because I LOVE SEX. And it helps with my cramps. I mean when I'm not on birth control, I have the kind of cramps that make you feel like you are going to vomit. I'm still small but I have gained 20 pounds! That will not leave! Now i'm debating on getting off birth control all together!!! The patch was cool, but that big ass band-aid is not sexy! It looks like a Nicotine patch. And I was considering the mirena, but you said you gained weight off of that! Oh lord! And I can't take pills because they give me yeast infections! What other methods are there?? Is you know of anything Side effects or what i should consider, email me at ****** Thanks. P.S. All the problems that I was having I didn't put 2 and 2 together until a coworker's hair started falling out due to a Birth Control pill she just started taking. Side effects that I am having are: I have gained 25 pounds and I don't eat shit. Fatigue. Hemorrhoids. Small portions of acne around my hairline. Fast heartbeat sometimes. I felt a kicking feeling in my belly about 3 times. Last week when I caught a cold my vision was blurry. Can't walk up a flight of steps without breathing like a 500 pound woman. A slight headaches. Not excruciating just a dull pain that will not go away until I take some aspirin. Irritability. And gas. This makes me not want to be on any kind of birth control period. I am researching different methods now.

I had horrible hormonal acne (on jawline, hairline, and neck) the entire time I used Mirena. I was using a top of the line acne-prone skincare system which would dry them up, but inevitably every two weeks I would get a new crop of sore, cystic acne. It was embarrassing and frustrating. I had the Mirena removed 3 weeks ago and am nearly acne-free. I also had unexpected heavy bleeding every 2-3 weeks, heavier than before I had the Mirena. I would not recommend this contraception to anyone, but I am glad that people do have success with it.

Hi, I have been taking lisinopril 2.5 mg for a little over a year now. I am 20 years old and had high blood pressure for my age so my doctor prescribed me to a low dose (2.5 mg) of lisnopril. I didn't think much of it at first because I figured my doctor had prescribed it and knew what was best for me, so I have been taking it over a year now.
The past couple days, I've started to think more about things and am wondering if the lisinopril has anything to do with it. I have definitely noticed that my hairline is receding faster and my hair, especially in the front of my head, is thinning. I have also gained weight over the past year and cannot seem to get any weight off. I never had these problems of losing hair or gaining weight before I started lisinopril.
My question is could the lisinopril, even with the low dose of 2.5 mg that I'm taking, actually cause these types of things to happen?
If anyone reading this could please reply to me and let me know, I would appreciate it so much because I am really worrying about this. Thanks.

I have had THICK hair all my life. Was on WB XL (300mg) for 2 years went off because of memory loss. Was off for 6 months, felt good, but inevitably depression slowly crept back into my life. Went back on WB XL (150mg for a week, then 300mg). Been back on it for 2 1/2 months and just noticed 2 weeks ago that my hairline is thinning at the corners of my forehead. It's especially noticeable when wet or when the light shines down on my head. I can see my scalp. I have also noticed an increase in dandruff. Yikes! I am a hairdresser and it would be terrible for me to have bad hair while working with clients. Why didn't this hair loss happen when I first started taking WB XL 2 years ago? And why is it flarring up now? Is this a temporary side effect that will work itself out, or do I have to stop taking this drug? I'm glad that I am not the only one and that I am not crazy!

I can't believe this!! I was searching the internet to see if there were any side effects from the mirena as one gets closer to the end of the Mirena life and I came across this site. I'm so blown away. I am getting my Mirena taken out in a week because it's been 5 years that I've had it in and I NEVER realized all the problems I've been having in my life was because of the IUD!! This whole time I thought it was just me and I was going crazy. So looking back on the last five years it's all making sense to me! Not only was the pain so unbearable getting it in, but the pain in my abdomen was so bad for 2 weeks straight, and no let up with the pain, that I almost passed out from it. My horrible boyfriend at the time told me suck it up. I said a prayer one night praying for the pain to go away and that if wasn't gone by the morning I was going to go get it taken out! I woke the next day and the pain was gone. But this wasn't the end. I developed depression ( I thought it might have been because of the crazy relationship I was in) which I'm STILL prescribed for and I also severe anxiety attacks, which I NEVER had before in my life! dizziness, lower backaches, crying fits, extreme fatigue and copious amount of hair loss, right around my hairline. I used to have lustrious hair which I had to have two hairties in to hold it up, now I can use a tiny little jaw clip to hold it all up!!. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it was because of the Mirena. I thought how great it was that I got it put in and didn't have to worry about it for another 5 years, since I have a terrible time taking regular contraceptive pills ait the same time every day. My memory has definitely been affected and another symptom I never thought would be possible is the weight gain. A year ago I was diagnosed to be Pre-Diabetic and have had to change my diet and exercise. You think I would have lost the weight, NO, quite the opposite I have actually gained more weight. I have little to NO sex drive and I USED to have a very high sex drive. Now this is all making sense to me. I really wish I had found this site sooner! Like 5 years ago!!! So thank god I am getting this thing taken out of me next week. I am opting to get a diaphragm fitted and getting all these harmonies out of my system, maybe I'll go back to being my old self! (tears in eyes as I am typing this!!! ) All these years....who would've known. I am still in shock!!!!!

I had been on Lithium for a few months when the consistent weight gain and uncomfortable bloated feeling caused me to seek out a new treatment for my bipolar disorder. Deciding on Lamictal, I started the slow transition of lowering Lithium doses and increasing Lamictal doses. About one month ago, the transition was complete. I didn't seem to have any real noticeable side effects from the Lamictal but after about 2 weeks of being off the Lithium, my skin started breaking out with acne!! Terribly on my chin, cheeks and hair line. I am now wondering if the Lithium may have been keeping this symptom under control. Has anyone had an experience like this?

Has anyone been LOOSING their HAIR on this pill. My daughter is taking to regulate her periods and so far she has turn from a sweet layed back princess to a hateful unbearable wench!!!! She has had all of the symptoms I'm reading about PLUS one!!!! She has been LOOSING her HAIR and its BREAKING OFF along the hairline making it look like someone is cutting it off and this, as a 14 yr teenager, is worse (for her) than all the other symptoms put together!!!! Of course, she's not affected by her thinking the world is coming to an end and arguing about everything she can and thinking I'm the dumbest person in the world!!! Wait! You think that has something to do with her age? lol In all seriousness if anyone is experiencing hair loss tell me about it. I'd like to make sure it is the medicine. Thanks!

Hi - I am stunned at all the awful experiences that users of the Mirena are describing on this and other websites!
I had mine removed 5 days ago - principally because my hair was falling out in worringly large amounts. I wasn't sure it was the Mirena, but decided to get it taken out anyway as I had experienced pretty constant bleeding since having it fitted in March. It was only after having it removed that I checked the internet, and have realized since that I have been suffering from other symptoms that I had not realized could be related to the Mirena. Apart from the hair loss, I have experienced a terrible foggy and tired feeling, dizziness, sore and swollen eyelids, strange spots around my hairline, one sore breast (!), a feeling that I couldn't be bothered with things - including my children, dry skin patches on my face and grumpiness. However, as a working mum of 2, with a husband who is away quite a lot, I had just put this down to a busy life where I don't have time for myself always. Now I think it was the Mirena!
Having had it removed, I can feel the fog lifting, though not the tiredness. I have experienced heavy bleeding and blood clots - now subsiding, but feel more cheerful. My hair loss, however, is seemingly getting worse...has anyone else had a similar experience please? Any advice on how to deal with this and how long it might take to stop would be greatly appreciated!

I have had Mirena for 1 yr and 5 months. The insertion was not painful that I recall, although I have had 4 kids, so I hear that may make a difference.

I stopped having my period at all around 6 months...haven't had a period in a year..and had spotting maybe 3 times total. Since about 9 months into Mirena....I have had cystic acne. (which I didnt know existed until mirena) I had never had a blemish on my BACK in my life! Also on my face, around hairline, and in my ears, on my neck, and hard to get rid of. I have noticed little cyst like nodules in my neck and the back of my head, behind my ears, like swollen lymph nodes but they come and go...never noticed this before. Have had a intermittent mysterious sharp pain in my side, like a side stitch, comes and goes, and feel it during sex. No doctors had a clue about it. I have been very tired lately the last 3 months and I am on a stimulant for ADHD, so I should not be tired! (also why I haven't gained weight like others) But most markedly, I have always had a history of migraines, and had auras about 6 times in my life. Normally I would have 3 migraines a month tops.....then after about a year, I would get them several times a week...NOW I HAVE HAD A HEADACHE for 21 days straight, with only about 4-5 headache free days in there. Severe enough that I am taking painkillers and went to the ER, and they did a CAT scan and so nothing. normal. So. What could it be???
I got fed up this morning...after waking up one more day with kids I cant take care of properly or enjoy.....so I took out my IUD all by myself.
Couldn't leave the house to go somewhere with my head throbbing.
Dont want to pay anyone to remove something that has already cost me so much. Just looked at the diagrams, and found the string, pulled gently and viola! It was pretty darn easy! No pain, no discomfort at all. Not a drop of blood yet after 7 hours. Head still hurts but the relief I feel is great. I know I made the right decision to take it out and I wont use a hormonal BC again. I am looking into Essure now.
It works for some people, sure, but don't forget it worked fine for me for almost a year before I realized what harm it was doing to me.
I cant wait to have my skin back and my body back to normal.
Be wary, but it did its job. But I have read hundreds upon hundreds of negative reactions to this. Class action lawsuits getting ready. So be careful,
