My poor 6 yr. old daughter has been taking this awful medicine since December. She has been complaining of stomach pain, headaches and not being able to breath. I called my doctor a few weeks ago to see if it could be from the Singulair she was on.. they told me "probably not". During her dance class she had to sit down because her stomach hurt so bad. I was writing everything down that she was eating (we have an appt. w/an allergist in 2 weeks.) .. thinking maybe she has food allergies now. She is constantly trying to clear her throat and telling me she felt like something was still coming down her throat. Until I found this site, I had no idea why she was behaving this way. I started putting blankets down on my husband and my floor because of her "bad dreams". This little pumpkin has always been an awesome sleeper, but at least 3x's a week comes running down the hall crying about her nightmares. I walked into my docs today with a print out of Merck's own website listing the side effects of this horrible med. She looked at me and said "you get the credit for diagnosis on this Mom!".. Praise God He led me to this website! My poor daughter will playfully start to feel better now that we have taken her off this junk!

For about 6 months I experienced severe cognitive disturbances. I had trouble remembering things, and making basic connections. I also had chronic fatigue, and terrible headaches, severe depression, moodiness, trouble sleeping, and trouble making sentences. I was so out of it that I couldn't make the connection with the medicine. I was 16 at the time, and my doctor thought it was just normal teen issues or something equally absurd My eyesight became worse, and my usual ability to retain information in school was butchered. Once I got off it, I felt much better. I could think again, and no was no longer forgetting important things, like my best friends name. However, it has been a half year since I got off, and some of the symptoms still persist, although in a much less degree. I am afraid of permanent damage, especially with my cognitive ability.

i am now on my 3rd week of femcom and i don't know what to think. I have recently moved to england from america for school leaving behind a 3 and a half year relationship with my boyfriend(staying together though) and family and friends. I have felt depressed since about the second day i started it. I cry every day and just don't feel like myself. Im not sure if that's the pill or the homesickness but i think it's both. Ive actually lost 5 pounds since being on this since i have no appetite now. the depression i feel is going away but ive had bleeding for about a week and a half now. I just wanted to know how long the bleeding/spotting lasts for and will that offsett my period which is due in 1 week now? thanks so much guys....oo and how many months will the irrgular bleeding last?

Our 2 and half year old son was diagnosed with asmatha at the beginining of June and prescibed singulair. While we had no doubt that singulair dramatically improved his asmtha and breathing, within 2 weeks the side effects forced us to change his medication. He experienced terrible nightmares, restlessness, mood swings, and waking up every 2 hours. Two weeks after stopping the singulair he is sleeping through the night, no nightmares and back to being a regular loveable 2 year old boy.

My 2 and a half year old son has been taking Omnicef for an ear infection. He's taken this medication quite a few times over the past year for a recurring ear infection. He hasn't had any side effects before, but this time he keeps getting red cheeks and the red cheeks come and go. Has anyone else experienced this?

Our one and a half year old son was put on this drug for ear infection and within one day it was like Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde. He had constant diarrhea, stomach cramping, waking up in the middle of the night screaming. But most disturbing was the behavior changes of just screaming and yelling all the time and the agressive behavior, even toward himself(biting his hand). It was like someone took our soft spoken, easy going happy son away from us. He is still having stomach problems and waking up at night. His eating has slowed way down. I will never give this drug to him again.

Hi all,
I just wanted to stop by and mention my symptoms from Yasmin:
-I am always tired, my sleep cycle increased from 6-7 hrs to 9-10 hrs. sometimes I come home from work, and go straight to bed, because I can't think of anything else, but taking a nap
-depression. My life is wonderful, I have loving husband, I just got in the school I wanted and I gonna start this fall. There is no reason to be sad, yet I am just not enjoying anything, like it's not my life
-leg cramps, horrible leg cramps, charlie's foot, toys cramp especially in the evenings
-emotional downs, can cry for no reason
-no sex drive
-dizziness
- and!! I do too have decreased hearing! my husband says I am death but it's just recently got that bad!!
the list goes on, but those are the most bothersome symptoms. I am on Yasmin for 2 years. All described above didn't show up right away, may be half year after I started taking these bc. I 've been suffering from all these symptoms for quite a while now, and it just hit me recently that it's not just depression, (since I never had one, and there is no history in my family), that it's my bc affecting me!!! I gonna go to my gynecologist ASAP and try to substitute Yasmin for something else, or, possibly just dont' take any bc at all.
Thank you ladies, for all your postings, it helped me realize that I am on the right path :)

I am a 14 and a half year old girl, 112 lbs., and I've been on Adderall Xr for about 2 years. It gives me dry mouth like Hell. Whenever I stand up, I get so dizzy I can't see. If I don't eat, it feels like my stomach is ingesting itself. It does help my ADD, I take it everyday. When I miss a dose, the day after is literally Hell. I like to hurt myself, basicly for fun and out of boredom. I took an herbal sleep aide for a long time since Adderall gave me severe insomnia (sleep just never came), but I've recently gone on strike since I don't want to have to take for the rest of my life. I usually do fine, except when I've had a certain amount or more of caffine, which was the same on the sleep med. I also have an eating disorder where I know I'm hungry, but I just don't want to eat. I've also become a lot more angry and irritable. I naturally keep things that bother me inside, and I'm extremly vindictive, so that sometimes stupid things just set me off for no reason. I take 25 mg everyday at about 7 in the morning.
Good luck to everyone out there. =^..^=

Post your symptoms since stopping Yasmin!!!
Hey everyone it's Kay21 here and I just wanted to post my 3 month off Yasmin update. Because stopping the pill is a hard decision, I figured we should all post are updates here to help/support those who are planning to stop or who have recently stopped Yasmin.
I have been off of Yasmin since April 17. As some of you already know, I was experiencing horrible side effects while on Yasmin for 3 years (particularly stomach problems, vaginal dryness, muscle cramps, increased blood pressure and heart rate and anxiety).
The first 1 month off of Yasmin was okay. In fact, I felt the best I had ever felt in a while. My blood pressure and heart rate decreased and the migraines and muscle cramps went away. But when I hit the 2 month (8 week) mark, I felt HORRIBLE. I was severely depressed and anxious. I was crying all the time and felt a severe sense of DOOM! The physical symptoms also started to become problematic. The acne increased and I started growing more facial hair. The worse symptom, however, was that I started losing a ton of hair. I would lose stray hairs all day (probably about 200 a day). Since I have hit the three month mark, the hair loss has gotten MUCH WORSE! Now I am losing CLUMPS of hair all day. I have seen several doctors about this. Some say it's because of stress and a few (a derm, GYN and endo) say that hiar loss is common after stopping bcp. I have already loss about 1/3 of my hair.
I am also really concerned, because I have not had a period since April 22. So my doctor has put me on provera for 10 days to induce a period.
For those who have stopped Yasmin, what have your symptoms been (i.e. increased acne, weight gain, anxiety, etc.). Has anyone experienced hair loss? How long did it take to get a period???
Thanks...

my 16 and a half year old son was put on this medication because of his temper; however he sleeps excessively, does not have a problem with libido and is still as angry as he was before being put on this medication. His diagnosis had something to do with his oppositional attitude?? But isn't that fairly normal as well as common for a teenager who does not always get his way?? My ex husband had him put on this medication so that he would be easier to deal with. I want to get my son off of this drug. He is still taking wellbutrin which I dont believe has the same adverse long term affects. What do you think?? A concerned mom

I thought I was losing my mind until I found this website. My two and a half year old son has been on Singulair for about six months and he's had a huge personality change. He's aggressive, has nightmares and wake up screaming about monsters and tigers. He used to sleep in his own bed but now gets so afraid he runs into our room most nights. He's begun to hit and yell at us and is making the kids in his preschool room cry. He's not the same little boy he was before he started taking Singulair and after reading all of these other messages, I'm taking him off the drug and will see if his allergist/ENT has another suggestion. I think he'll tell me I'm paranoid, but I'm sure this Singulair is the problem. Thank goodness I found this website!

My 3 / half year old daughter has been on singulair twice over 18 months. It is prescribed to lessen a constant barking cough caused by allergies? or asthma?
After initially seeming to calm her constant cough it now seems to do nothing to help. Again many nightmares, coughing and unsettled at night. She's a solid kid but seems to be putting on weight also. No mention of headaches but she does get pins and needles and is constantly hungry (maybe normal for active kid)...
No Dr has ever been sure what is happening with her - chest clear, ears clear, throat clear, she says it doesn't hurt but her coughing attacks are incredibly distressing...now cannot run without coughing....sometimes coughs nearly all day and night
Any thoughts or ideas? We're going to test her for allergies, have been de-dusting the house pretty thoroughly etc

I think that I finally figured out why I am so physically and mentally sick. I received the mirena almost 2 years ago and I was a true advocate of the product...I love it!! About 6 months ago I started to have panic attacks and anxiety (i have never experienced this before) it was so bad that I barely made it to work everyday and could no longer handle being out in public. My PCP placed me on different types of anti-depressants (which made me depressed). Currently I take Budeprion which has decreased my anxiety but I do not feel like myself. The past month and a half I wake up with the feeling of morning sickness (the numerous pregnancy test say that I am not), have headaches, low energy levels and little motivation. I was pretty sure that my hormones levels must be "off" but my PCP and OB insisted that there is no way that my symptoms have anything to do with my hormones because my child is almost 2 years old and I am 29 years old. I have gone through numerous tests on my gallbladder and other organs to find the cause of these symptoms that I have and Everything is Fine. After reading the stories on this website I now know that I do not need anti-depressants and I am not going crazy...I just need to get the Mirena removed.
