Please post this on your site for Yasmin side effects.
Thank you for your site. I've been informed my reading it.
I've taken Yasmin for 3 months. Initially had mild nausea taking the pills but solved that by cutting pills in half, and taking half in the morning and the other half with dinner.
However, I haven't been able to solve my SEVERE THIGH and LEG MUSCLE CRAMPS that initially occured daily and particularly nightly. Just like a 'charley horse'. Now I have these only once every 3 days, but it is very annoying and painful to be jumping around on my leg or trying to stretch my thigh, or hamstring, or shin muscle out.
I've read that Yasmin is unique in having a diuretic component to it. Has anyone else experienced these severe skeletal muscle cramps (not uterine or period type cramps)?
If so, have you found any supplements that help, such as Potassium, Calcium, or Magnesium. Please write me at ****** if you have info.
My history is I'm a 50 y/o female with slight anemia from heavy periods placed on Yasmin to control this. I'm a vegetarian who has never had problems in the past taking several different kinds of OCPs including Loestrin. I take no other prescriptions medications or supplements. I have never had skeletal cramps other than maybe once a year prior to taking Yasmin.
Thank you

I received a drip of levaquin in a hospital ER for a infected dog bite. I was given a prescription after that and took 1 dose of 750 mg for four days. On the fourth day I was doing some minor physical work and started experiencing what felt like cramps in my calfs. It got worse after a few hours and started to spread slightly into the hamstring area. I went directly to my Dr. who said he didn't think it was a reaction from the drug even though muscle pain and sudden pain in the legs is listed as an adverse reaction. He gave me a muscle relaxer (Skelaxin).
I am taking Tramadol (Ultram) for back pain and knew that some muscle relaxers, such as cyclobenzaprine, can cause fatal respritory failure. I had to mention this and have them check to make sure there would be no adverse reaction from mixing the drugs. This is the office that prescribed the Tramadol.
I was told to discontinue the Levaquin and given a prescription for Cephalaxin. When I got home from the pharmacy and read the printout in the package I find that the drug should not be taken by anyone who has had allergic reaction to penicillin type drugs. I am highly allergic to penicillin which is in my medical records at the doctor's office.
UNBELIEVABLE !!

I am an otherwise healthy 38 yr/old male. I was taking Levaquin (500 mg/day) for possible prostatitis. Within 72 hours, began feeling numbness in my left foot, leg, and arm. Was traveling for the holiday, and during air flight my leg felt as if it was developing an internal pressure. As I can nearly describe it, it felt as if someone had connected a bicycle tire pump to my leg and was steadily inflating it. Was nearly convinced that I was having a stroke, until I began to suspect the Levaquin. I was unable to reach my physician, who was also traveling for the holiday. After my 5th dose, I elected to discontinue taking the levaquin. On that day, I developed pain in my left calf. Later, the pain also developed in the hamstring area. After a fitful night, the pain began to subside into a dull fatigue (now ~24 hours since last dose). The fatigue and numbness remained at that level for another 24 hours. Finally, by the 3rd day following my last dose, the fatigue and numbness began to fade. On the fourth day, the fatigue was gone, though a slight numbness persisted, though only in my leg (arm numbness was gone). Travel on that same day went fine (no sensation of pressure). Today (fifth day since last dose), just a slight numbness in my lower left leg.

I have been on Lipitor for about 3 years. I have constant pain in my upper, outer arm area. Also when I rub this area I feel lumps. I'm having knee problems which I know is somewhat related to arthritis but the pain changes. Some days when I get up from sitting any length of time I have to wait until the bend of my legs relaxes or whatever it does before I can walk. Thinking this might be the hamstring area. Still taking this drug but am seriously considering stopping. So glad I found this site and have emailed it to my friends who are also on this drug.

I take 10 mg of Zocor. My cholesterol was 240. It dropped to 110. I have been on it 2 years. I use to run and and never experienced leg cramps. Now I wake up with leg cramps about every 2 hours. They are severe enough to force me to get up and stretch my calf, Hamstring, Quad or foot which ever is cramping. The Dr. put me on Quinine for cramps, no help. I forgot to take my pill for 2 days now, purely accident and no more cramps. My hip has also been a problem where as it was not before. I am going to try not taking it for a couple days and see. If no more cramps ...NO MORE Zocore.
I also had Hepatitis A 30 years ago, told my Dr. and he said no problem. Now I read about liver problems and ZOCOR should not be combined. Who can we believe anymore.

I'm currently experiencing severe left leg and knee pain and stiffness. I was a dedicated runner, but stopped thinkning I'd strain my hamstring but pain has lasted about 1 month with no improvement. No pain when sitting, but when I begin to walk I have extrememe stiffness and pain, gets better after I take several steps. Severe back/sholder pain with intermitten numbness in the region. I've take Zocor for 2 years.

Prescribed for prostatitis. Age 34. I've been taking 500mG/day for about 4 weeks. Experiencing some standard side effects:
- Some indigestion/bellyache. Improves when I take it with dinner (my biggest meal of the day).
- Some sleeplessness, but I'm not a great sleeper anyway. Hard to say if it's related to the drug.
- Bizarre back, neck, hamstring, and joint pain in the base of my thumbs (!). A lengthy, careful stretching routine in the morning helps a bit (except for the thumbs). I played tennis for a couple hours in week 3 and almost couldn't move my neck for two days. Swimming, along with the stretching, has made a world of difference for the back, neck, and leg stiffness. Nothing so far helps the thumbs though...

I took omnicef for about 8 days for a sinus infection. Noticed my left hamstring was hurting. My Dr & pharmacist both said this isn't a side effect for this drug. I took it for a few more days, then stopped because of my leg pain. They checked me for blod clots & it was negative. 3 days after stopping this drug, I still have the leg pain & I'm convinced it is from omnicef. I'd like to hear from anyone else who has had this problem since the Dr's think I'm crazy!
