I had the Mirena inserted December 2007 and I thought everything was going great! Then the weight gain started it was like I gained weight in my sleep I went from a size 14 to a 20 and I hate it. My hair stopped growing and started shedding really bad. My face looks blotchy and rough and I've developed a skin rash that itches terribly. I'm irritable as HELL and my sex drive is completely gone. I hadn't had a period since I had the Mirena placed and three weeks ago I started cramping really bad I felt like I was in labor, I couldn't walk or stand up straight. I took some Advil laid down and woke up in a puddle of blood, by the time I could get to the bathroom I had started passing large blood clots. I went to the hospital and they did nothing gave me a prescription for Vicodin and Codeine. As of today I'm still having the same complications with no sign of getting better. Thanks to all the ladies and their post I now know that Mirena is the root of this evil. Thank you to everyone and hope you all find relief because I just called to have this thing removed first thing in the morning!!!!!

I have been on Norvasc for some time, but was switched to the generic form a little more than a year ago. I have been very unhappy with the quality of the pill from Mylan Labs. It dissolves in my mouth, tastes horrible and sticks in my throat. Last month, I had it go down my trachea and was coughing it up for 2 days, which included alot of burning. I asked my doctor to prescribe the name brand but she refuses, stating state drug laws as her excuse. I know it really has to do with my insurance company's formulary and she just doesn't want to go to the trouble of getting it approved by them. I tried calling all the local pharmacies to see if another company's version was available ,but they all only carry Mylan's version. I take a lot of prescription drugs for several chronic health disorders, and several supplements and vitamins and can swallow a handfull of pills at one gulp, so I know this problem is not my pill-taking technique. I also started to experience swelling in my feet, ankles and hands about the time of the switch to generic, which I never correlated to the generic Norvasc until now. I told my doctor I will not take the generic from Mylan and am awaiting a call back from her as I sit writing this. I am having surgery in about a week and can not afford to be playing around with my meds, but this is important to me. No one should have to accept an inferior product. By the way, I'm writing to Mylan, too.

BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD! I took this drug today and thought i was going to die from a heart attack. I began getting palpitations and then it progressed into a full blown panic attack. Thank god I had some Xanax to bring down the side effects. But now I just feel out of it and foggy. I almost called 911, it was that bad. I felt like I couldn't breathe, like there was something standing on my chest. I called my doctor right away who said they had no other samples, that Avelox was the only thing they are really getting right now. That seems really odd to me that a drug like this is on the market with so much negative press and yet its all our physicians have on hand for people like me with no insurance. PLEASE DONT TAKE THIS DRUG, it is terrible...
