Hi - I was on advair for a couple of weeks after a horrible bout of asthmatic bronchitis. I now have this constant pressure under my rib cage that will not go away. I was wondering if any one else has experienced this while on or after stopping advair. Thanks and happy holidays!

Hello I'm a 41 year old female, and I took Lipitor 20 mgs for 6 months about two years ago. When I called my doctor's office to complain about side effects they told me it couldn't be the Lipitor because I had been taking it for a month already, and would have had problems before that. I eventually took myself off of the drug 5 months later. Here are some of the side effects I experienced:
Itchy fingertips, increased blood pressure, 30lb weight gain, shaky hand writing, acne, poor driving skills, poor memory, hair loss, "frozen joints", IBS, incontinence, low grade fever, itchy feet, numb toes, numb hands, foggy brain, joint pain, muscle pain, foot pain, plantar pain, dizzy, jaw pain, back and neck pain, week ankles and wrists, nasal allergies, skin rashes, migraines, heartburn, Increase in Astham, heart palpitations, knee pain, difficulty standing up from sitting position, difficulty climbing stairs, water retention alternating in feet, hands, arms and legs, almost constant taste of bile in my mouth.
These are only the ones I can remember. Two years down the road everything but the muscle and joint pain and weakness is gone. even those have improved a lot. I stopped taking the Lipitor and lost all 30lbs I had gained on it, without dieting, in a months time. I still have two toes on each foot that are partially numb. I have trouble climbing stairs, and getting up from a sitting position. I can do both, but I move slowly while doing them. The pain in my muscles and joints drives me crazy, but I'm grateful that the rest of the symptoms have cleared up. My doctor never believed me about my symptoms, and neither does my new doctor really. Went to the emergency room for asthma that was not responding to my inhaler, and they were about to let me go home when I mentioned to the doctor that I had been on Lipitor. Suddenly a huge battery of tests were ordered including a CT scan and a stress test. When I asked the doctor why he said that they just wanted to be sure that it wasn't something other than asthma. Why did they do that after hearing about the Lipitor? Do they know something? Are there doctors who believe that statins are killing and seriously injuring people? I'm so angry. Even as I sit here typing I know when I stand up I will have massive amounts of pain that I will have to "walk off". My quadriceps have not recovered, and remain ridiculously weak.
If I can stop one other person from going through this I will be happy. Thanks everyone for taking the time to list your symptoms. It makes me feel better to know that someone believes me, and knows what I am going through.

I had my IUD removed in October and all my aches and pains went away soon after ... however the 40 lbs I gained never budged until now ... I went the drastic route of cutting all carbs and sugar and only eating protein and veggies and protein shakes and I have now lost 12 lbs (including the bloated water weight from IUD) in less than 2 wks!!! I am also using a daily facial scrub to get rid of the acne once and for all and get back to the happy "pre-IUD" person that I was. I am scared to even try the copper IUD in case I have new side effects. I am so traumatized from Mirena that I would rather get my tubes tied (currently using condoms). I am happy however to finally start losing this horrible extra weight - Happy Holidays :)

Hello,

Male 50, retired Federal Law Enforcement Agent on 50MG of Toprol XL for hypertension. Bad side effects, dizzy, light-headed, frequent blood pressure drops, pressure in head, lethargic and some tingling in extremities. Symptoms especially worsen after my 45 in walk/jog. The other day I made the mistake of taking this on an empty stomach in the morning prior to the exercise routine. gave me a heck of a wallop afterwards. Stress test, EKG, Holter recorder and blood work all OK. Dr. told me to drop dosage to .25. I'm thinking about dropping the whole damn bottle in the trash. Blood pressure is under under control now so between the retirement and better diet/exercise I think I can stay OK without Toprol. I think Doctors need to pay better attention to the adverse side effects from this stuff as I am reading in here.

Happy Holidays to all!!

I have been taking Lisinopril for approximately three weeks. Well, I have been experiencing lots of "itching". My appetite has decreased considerably and foods taste quite different. I have Lupus which keeps me tired all the time, therefore I did not contribute my tiredness to the Lisinopril. Now that I have read these comments, I can be assured that the additional fatigue can be connected to the Lisinopril. Otherwise, my bp seems to be better. I suffer with headaches normally, and have not worsened. I have not yet witnessed all the other side effects mentioned. I am, however, thankful for this site. It is good to know what could happen or if my symptoms change, this is an excellent source of reference.
Happy Holidays.

happy holidays ladies, and I wish you all the best for 2007.

I have felt better lately but still at certain times of the day I feel sad. I never did before yasmin.

There is good news for everyone though, your body renews itself in 11 months. So I'm a bit over three months without this pill, so I'm looking forward to getting better as time passes by.

My experience has been severe panic attacks that come and go, I have them for a few days and then a few days I'm okay then I don't have them for weeks, then something happens in my life to stress me out then they come back. I hate Yasmin so much and I can't believe the effect its had on me, and I wish I'd never taken it.

I'm working really hard to work out my anxiety, and now of course I'm worried, anxious, scared of having another attack because my family worries so much.

It's just I wish I knew how to stop being so sad overall, nothing in specific, just sad. It comes and goes but it is there.

Sorry to blabber on, but writing this out really helps me.

Good luck to everyone.

Claudia.
