I'm glad there is this site!
I started NuvaRing a month ago after having an abortion and feel like i've been going crazy.
All the side effects the ladies have mentioned i've experienced.
Dizziness, nausea, no sex drive, severe fluid retention in my legs, bloated, angry, really depressed, vagueness and really tired. I'm only 22 and apart from those symptoms i'm healthy. Its hard to concentrate at work and especially hard to exercise because of the pain in my legs.
I'd like to be on contraception.
Can anyone recommend a type of the pill that doesn't aggravate fluid retention especially? That's been the most unbearable out of all the symptoms. I feel like i'm pregnant again!
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Hi, I was switced from Atenolol to Toprol-XL 50 mg about 1 year ago for palpatations and it seemed to work very little papations now. However, I am currently experiencing right upper quadrant pain and my triglycerides are over 500. I am told I it is drug induced fatty liver disease? I am slowly weaning myself off this medication because you can not just quit per/pharmacist. I also have gained weight which I can not lose, hair thinning, hard to concentrate, elevated triglycerides, calf pain after walking or excercising, fluid retention, feet swelling etc..... for those of you who are on it I would suggest having your triglycerides and liver enzymes checked.

Hi. I just wanted to let everyone know what has happened since I stopped taking Yasmin 4 days ago. (I only took it for 2 months.) I'm still having heart palpitations, feeling of a lump in my chest, and still a bit dizzy at times. My ears kind of feel like when I'm on an airplane coming in for a landing when the dizziness comes around. I'm also still having an occasional urge to cough. I still have shortness of breath and it's very noticeable when I'm talking and saying a long sentence. I thought the symptoms would really decrease but it seems to come and go. I feel the palpitations more frequently during the evening hours. I don't know why that is though. All of this makes it really hard to concentrate a work. I was reading one blog that said to take extra magnesium and zinc. Has anyone tried that and is it effective?

I have been taking Lamictal for just over a year. Some of the side effects have been noticable for a few months, but others seem to just be appearing and getting worse. I have loss of balance and coordination, my vision is gettng worse, I have a hard time concentrating and finding the right words, I forget how to spell common words, I have short-term memory loss and feel spacey. I can always figure it out, but it takes longer. I began doing Pilates every day about 3 months ago and still cannot get the routine down and it is just as hard for my muscles as it was in the beginning. I can't seem to lose weight and have horrible acne on my face. I had 2 seizures before beginning Lamictal and am suppose to be on it for 2 years before trying to go off. Without insurance though, I am unable to do follow-ups w/ my neurologist and she seems unconcerned and unsypathetic to my situation, not giving me the time of day. She never even told me all of these side effects could develop, much less that they might begin long after I started taking Lamictal. Has anyone had these side effects after having taken the Lamictal for so long then stopped taking the Lamictal? Will these side effects go away after I stop taking it??

I have been on Neutontin for about 8 or 9 years. I still experience side effects that I just can't get rid of. I take 400mg 4 times a day. I have swelling of my abdomin, hands, legs and feet. I feel drunk and ditsy. I have memory loss and find it very hard to concentrate. On the up side, I am very happy and feel as though I can accomplish anything when I take it. I have the courage to do things I normaly wouldn't do. I am taking it for seizures and also nerve pain from a back injury. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this.

I started on Advair in June 2005. I am a public speaker and this past fall started having a lot of trouble with losing my voice. Went to the Dr. in Dec. and had a nasty yeast infection in my throat. Went on an antibiotic for 15 days and did not clear it up. Got a refill in Feb. and finally got rid of the infection. Decided I couldn't do my job on Advair, so went off of it last week. Didn't realize I might have side effects going off of it.....I am feeling very anxious, hard to concentrate and am having tingling in my arms, hands, and feet. Should I be concerned, or will these symptoms subside? Thinking I should have seen the Dr. before discontinuing - any thoughts?

brain fog is a good way to expalin what toprol xl will do for ya. i know my body and have noticed a difference since i've been taking toprol. well and i'm currently taking 100mg of toproxl and have been a a year. just recently i've decided to tak my med a night to see waht type of difference that would make. now i know its obvious its the medicine that has me drowsy, brain fog, hard to concentrate, lack of energy, light headness, feelings of black out and a "I dont care" type feeling too for an example, just to bring some laughter to this...in most cases if someone tick me off..its like "whatever, it doesnt matter!" and I know that's not the typical me (smile). So I to wonder just as the others, what kind of medicine iis this !! So I'm doing to my doctor and I'M GOING TO GIVE THIS SITUATION TO GOD AND TRUST HIM TO GET ME OFF THIS HORRIBLE MEDICINE" anyone ants to discuss this futher..please feel free to email me ******

I have horrible nerve pain of the right hip and leg ,all the way down to my toes, after two four level bone fusion sugeries. This has been going on for three years so they put me on Amytriptyline to help me sleep. Because the pain was waking me up after three hours of sleep. Then they put me on Neurontin 900mg a day for the nerve pain and my world turned upside down. I was tired all the time, weak, and it was very hard to concentrate and function. I had to stop taking it because I didn't think it helped my pain enough to put up with all the side effects. I'm on new medication and this one is much better then neurontin. To all those other people out there good luck I know how you feel, it would be great to feel pain free for just one day again!

I just got out of the hospital a few days ago. I received Levaquin intravenously. I am now taking a weeks worth of pills. Reading these entries is very disturbing.

I have expereinced aches in joints, but I relate that to being stuck in bed for four days doing nothing.
Other than that, I tire very easily and have been experiencing some headaches. I'll take that over tha pain I was in before.
I've found it's better to take in the evening because suroundings do become a little hazing sometimes, and I find it hard to concentrate at work, so I look for sites on the meds I am taking instead...
