I've been on 25mg of generic Zoloft for a week and I've developed the feeling of a lump in my throat. It seems to get worse for a little while after I take it, but it may also be anxiety about taking it. I'm supposed to increase the dosage to 50mg tomorrow, but I'm afraid to in case it's really an allergic reaction. Has anyone else experienced this?

In dec of 2006 I was put on clonidine,it made me so tired, so my doc (Quack) switch me to lisinopril-hctz 20/12.5mg, for the last five months I thought I was dying, I could barely get up in the morning my throat feel like there is something stuck in it, I was spaced out half the time, had the shakes and the weak feeling all day ,every day,my joints hurt and a cant sleep because of the itching, my legs felt like i was carrying around leg heavy leg irons my neck hurts. my fingers cramped up, I have had dierra (sp) forever and I have lost 16 pounds, started out at 145 I stopped taking this poison on 7/02/07, I still can't sleep because of the itching, I still have shakes, when I get up in the morning, but it subsides in about two hrs, my throat is still a little sore and it is still a little hard to swallow but it is getting better every day. I am not tired all day, my husband is so happy that he is getting his wife back, this is my first time being sick and it is a shame that the first med I had to take made me sicker, I would not wish these meds on my worst enemy

I started on lisinopril june 05 for high blood pressure. also, the water pill. At first diziness and light headedness were experienced. This was not more than a week. Until recently all was well. I caught bronchitis,as diagnosed by my doc, at the beginninin g of the year and have had systems off and on since. I"ve dicontinued the drug recently, but still haven't been able to shed the flu like symptom. The worst part has been a feeling in my throat that is like the inside swelling. Sometimes it was hard to swallow and even restricted normal breathing. I found I was not able to talk continuously for short periods of time just before I quit taking it. I'm looking forward to an end of these symptoms and normality again. It's been 2 days and counting since i discontinued using lisinopril. Any good news from anyone

I was fine on the doxycycline for about a week until one night when I took it without water and immediately went to bed (I didn't read the directions thoroughly and missed the part that said not to lay down 30 minutes after taking it). I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like a pill twice its size was stuck in my throut. The feeling got worse as the days went on, making it hard to swallow. I also had terrible heartburn for about 10 days after. I started taking it again after the symptoms went away and I have been fine since. Make sure you thoroughly read the instructions before taking this or any other drug!

I am sure glad that I found this site. I am a 58 year old male, I have been using Advair 500/50 for about 3 years but; I did not know there were side effects with this drug. I have COPD with approximately 15% of lung capacity left. Before starting on the Advair twice a day, I could walk app. 100ft before I got so out of breath. now I am lucky to be able to walk 10 ft. and even then I must rest and catch my breath. I have gained an enormous amount of weight, and at first with a change to my diet I would lose a couple of pounds, but; that was also with my cardiac rehab. The cough is getting much worse and I cough so hard I feel like I am going to pass out. I am nauseated, have no real taste for food anymore. It is hard to swallow even water. I get a sore throat and a lot of mucous and it has become at times very hard for me to speak. I have to speak slowly trying to form my words so they can be understood. I also have a heart condition, and was having real bad palpatations. Why I didn't know, I was hospitalized and was put on Warfain and Solatol which does help. I never would have associated any of these side effects if I had not read them here in this site, thank you for alerting me. I am at a loss as what to do, I am going to contact a lawyer, but; I still do not know if I should stop taking the Advair.

My husband got put on Lisinopril for high blood pressure and developed the cough that everyone seems to get. He was taken off of it and was put on another medicine and the coughing stopped. Later I was put on Lisinopril for having too much protein in my urine. The first time something happened was that my throat felt very swollen and it was hard to swallow but it went away within 2 hours and I ignored it. The second thing that happened was that my upper lip swelled three times it's normal size. I took some Benedryl and after about an hour it went down. Two days later my husband rushed me to the ER because I couldn't breathe, swallow and I was feeling dizzy. I tried to take some Benedryl but I couldn't swallow it. It turned out I was going into anaphylactic shock. The ER doctore told me it was because of the Lisinopril. He told me that the swelling of the throat and breathing problems were a common side effect. I discontinued taking it and since have had no problems.

I began taking Lisinopril last May. BP came right down. All seemed fine until about two months ago. Constant sinus condition began, along with post-nasal drip, intermittent coughing for no apparent reason, watery right eye from time to time when coughing, and a clob in the back of my throat that is hard to swallow. It is the season for colds and I have had one and been exposed to others. Not until today when I began going through the letters on this site did I put 2 and 2 together. Called my doctor's office and asked his nurse to tell him I won't take any more of these pills, and that maybe he'd like to talk to me. Let's see how long it takes for my congestion to clear up.

I have been on levaquin since 7-9-03. I am 24, and in pretty good health except for some asthma (under control) and some mild arthritis. I was put on this drug for a UTI. On the second day on the meds I experienced some pain in my left knee, but contributed it to my arthritis. Day three had both my knees hurting. It's just gotten worse, and now on day 4, my neck, fingers, knees, and toes are all VERY painful. It hurts just to walk, or hold an object. My throat also feels a bit swollen, and it's hard to swallow. I finally got sick of feeling worse than I had before I went on the meds, so I was thinking about what could have been making me feel this way. After doing some research on this drug online, I am a bit upset that my dr. didn't warn me about the possibility of these side effects. I admit, the meds did come with one of those small disclosure sheets that come when you get a perscription from CVS Pharmacy. I have also had headaches (at least one lasting one a day) since taking this drug. Nothing I've taken has helped with any of the symptoms. I am planning on calling my dr. the FIRST thing in the morning. I wouldn't say this drug is bad for everyone, I would just STRONGLY warn anyone who is considering taking this drug to talk to their dr. about the side effects. Oh, finally, I have no pain from the UTI anymore, but honestly, I'd rather have that than all the other stuff I've experienced since taking this drug.

Started Advair on 3-19-03. Started Dr. prescribed low carbohydrate diet at same time, weight loss has slowed dramatically, throat is sore. Last night one hour after useing Advair my throat became extremely sore, was hard to swallow, felt like throat was closing but it only lasted about an hour, about time for another dose, will see what happens. It is controlling asthma.

I have been on toprol for two weeks. I was on atenolol before that for about10 months. Does anyone get head pressure from this stuff. I have constant head pressure. I also get depression and very dry mouth makes it hard to swallow.
-- By tlcha | Reply | (1) replies | Private Message meI want to go off. I am only on 25 mg once a day. Doctors act like they don't want people off meds. I only went on cause I started with anxiety a year ago and makes my blood pressure wacky but not to high. Like 140/85 I use to always have low blood pressure. I got to get off cause it's causing me anxiety with the side affects.
