My mother recently told me that she was put on a Yutopar drip when she was pregnant with me to delay premature labor in 1983. I am now 24 years old and suffering with weight problems. I have been overweight since I was 9 years old and it didn't make any sense. I ate like a normal child and was just as active as a normal child, I was even in dance classes for 3 years and dieted off and on my whole life. My mother later remembered being told that the drug Yutopar could have side effects children (when she was working as a nurse). A doctor told her that one of the possible side effects was obesity in the child. To stray from the subject of weight issues, as a child I had a lot of trouble with understanding things at school and was constantly depressed. At 12 years old I was diagnosed as Bipolar. At age 16 I was diagnosed with Social anxiety disorder and thought a lot about suicide. At 20, I was diagnosed with panic disorder (High anxiety). I have been on various medications since I was 12. And now at 24 years old I have discovered that I may have some liver problems. I have lived my entire life feeling like I was abnormal. I have an older sister and younger brother who were not exposed to Yutopar and are completely healthy mentally and physically. I feel like I was born defective. In 1983 when this drug was used it had not been properly tested nor approved by the FDA before being given to women with signs of premature labor. I have tried doing research on the drug and have read in a few articles that the drug was taken off the market after it was approved in 1989. I'm trying to figure out if this drug might be the cause of so much emotional pain throughout my life. Judging by the side effects on the mothers who were given the drug, I can only assume that the side effects would be passed on to the child. Does anyone have any information that I may not have obtained?

I was diagnosed with asthma after 34 years of a very athletic life. My dr. prescribed me predisone, proventil, singular and ADVAIR!! Although the predisone was for a 7 day period, the other three meds. I was to take indefinetly. For someone who has never been on any medication, this was a very hard adjustment!! I took all meds. for about 6 wks. but my gut feeling was just telling me to stop, so after blurriness of vision, weight gain, shakiness, loss of sleep, mood swings, loss of concentration, severe heart burn(especially at night), breast tenderness, back pain and the need to clear my throat all the time I took it upon myself to get off the drugs!! I stopped about a week ago and am feeling a slight shortness of breath but I'm going to stay on top of it and work out on building up my lungs and flushing all these medications out of my system. Sometimes doctors are to quick to diagnose a person and put them on unnecessary medications. I believe on our bodies having the capability of healing themselves with natural elements. I'm on my way to a natural product store to find a healthier way to heal my body. Thank you all for the comments!! I'm relieved to know that I made the right choice on stopping ADVAIR!!!!

I've been off yasmin for nearly 2 weeks now, and have discovered that my once inverted nipple has suddenly decided to not be inverted anymore!

It's been inverting for years (maybe 8-10) , and permanently inverted for the last 5 or so years. But in the last week, it's not inverted once!

I can only put it down to stopping the birth control medication. What a nice suprise!

I have also had Kenalog injections. The only side effect I seem to have is the atrophy at the injection site. It suddenly appeared one day about 4 months after my first injection. It was only dime sized and stayed that way for about a year. I thought it was a funny strech mark from having lost a lot of weight. I had another injection about 1 year later and noticed 4-5 months afterward the crater started expanding. It now seems to keep growing and I finally went to the derm and he said it was a side effect from Kenalog. I am using the OTC product Mederma to see if it helps the appearance of the area. Sorry to hear all of your terrible side effects.

I was put on Fosamax in 1997 after a total hip replacement and was told that studies show it maintains the bone growth around the implants (I later discovered this is not proven) Oct. 2005 I had a spontaneous fracture of my pelvis. After doing much research on my own I have discovered that others have experienced this as well. Still no warning on Fosamax insert. Apparently Bisphosphonates (Fosamax and Actonel and Boniva) cause severe repression of bone turnover which is what actually makes the bones strong. No one should stay on this drug for more than 5 yrs. You do not lose any of the gain you have gotten when you quit as Fosamax stays in your body forever.......GREAT!

I get intense headaches and neck aches when I take Adderallxr and Adderall (i have tried both). when i stop taking it, after 2-3 days the head aches are gone, and the neck aches greatly diminished. However, I also take Isosorbide - a long acting nitrate like nitro glycerine. I have discovered that the two probably interact. if i stop the isosorbide, the headaches and neckaches are at a much lower level. I have found that relaxation techniquies help lower the neck pain and headaches also. I suspect that Adderallxr makes one more susceptible to anxiety (of which i have a lot right now due to challenges in job).

I also have trouble sleeping. I will try orange juice an hour before I go to bed to see if that helps.

When i get the dose right, Adderallxr is great. I am much more focused, calmer, and get a lot more priority things done. I wish I had known about ADD 40 years ago. I will somehow figure out the right dose and how to diminish the side affects. The benefits are too good for me to quit taking Adderallxr.
