This message goes out to ocexpert. I sent you a private email concerning your post made to me about bc. You did not respond so I will let everyone know that you work for the company. Of course you are going to push your companys product. The more you sell the more you make. Thanks to a tip from another member that posted. She fiqured you out. I WILL NEVER TAKE ANYTHING MADE FROMWARNER CHILCOTT AGAIN. This bc pill loestrin that you so highly speak of has cost me 8.000 in medical bills due to the dpression and everything else I had mentioned in previous post. You have made very hurtful post to not only me to several other people on this board. We are here to share or stories with others. I cannot sleep at night knowing what this pill has done to not only me but to several others. Maybe warner chilcott would like to pay my medical bills now. If I were you I would stay off these boards. If any of you ladies have realized that the doctors offices are stocked with femcon and loestrin. They do not have many samples of other drugs. This crap is toxic. If it works for you great but if not get on somthing else.

I started taking yasmin at the beginning of the month suggested by my doctor for very irregular periods. I am 16 and have been irregular for 5 years and wanted a change. I also have very bad cramps or nausea when I am PMSing. I've never had any experience with a gyno and I didn't know what each kind was so I took her word for it. The first week or so I was nauseous before bed when I took it every day. Then 3 weeks later right before I was to start the "white pill" section I almos passed out in school. I was blacking out and shaking with a rapid heart beat and very dizzy. I went to the ER and the doctor said I just had "vertigo" and all tests were normal. After reading this and thinking I now have the stomach flu I have realized that Yazmin is the reason for all of this. I am glad that I'm not going crazy here. The past few days I've stopped talking it but I still have extreme anxiety (possibly caused by upcoming stress in school- i'm extremely busy and all over the place), dizzyness, shaking, nausea, diarrhea, vometing, random shakeyness and headaches. I hope this helps other women that have the same symptoms and are wondering what is going on- I know I was like that until I found this website.

A Nuvaring proponent and user for 4 years (I started when it was first available on the US market) I decided to stop using it 2 weeks ago after reading some horrifying posts regarding the exponential increase in risk of stroke and pulmonary embolism in women who are 1.)35+ and 2.) smokers. What was most frightening, was the fact that most of the women who have died or are wheelchair bound, due to Nuvaring complications are under 30 and non-smokers.
The reason I have continued my research is because I have realized that for the past two years, I have experienced what I now believe to be side effects. I never had PMS before using the ring. With each year of use, my PMS has become more severe and of longer duration -- up to 2 weeks prior to my period. I have had horrible lower back pain for over 1 year, and x-rays from my chiropractor indicate no symptoms of a structural problem. Even after PT, the pain didn't subside. Additionally, I have experienced the mood swings and depression other women on this site report. I was constantly anxious, frustrated for no apparent reason, angry, and short-tempered to the point of volatile. The change in my personality has been obvious and rather disturbing. I am relieved to know that this shift might have been related, and I am curious to know how I will feel as the hormones from the ring are purged from my system. I am now choosing to use a non-hormonal contraceptive -- the sponge. It's easy, safe, convenient, and not dangerous to my health.
Something all women need to remember -- We are still guinea pigs for the health and pharmaceutical industries. Until women stand up and demand fair and equal respect for their health and welfare (that means vote - and not for those on the side of big business !!!) and stop supporting industries and politicians who LIMIT choices for women, this problem is NOT going away. The Nuvaring is just another example....

I have been on the ring for about 9 months. Before that I had been on different types of tri-cycle pills for over 7 years. I didn't notice much at first, but I have realized that my sex drive has almost diminished since using the ring. Also, I've always had mood swings on the pill and have noticed that I seem to have more irrational ones now! I have the once-a-month crying days. I haven't seen any recommendations for a birth control alternative. I do LOVE not having to worry about taking a pill.

Well I been taking toprol for a month and a half, I have realized that its helping me so far! For the last 4 years I been having this flutter in my chest, heart racing, and chest pains. I go to an emergency room, they tell me, "Oh your having an anxiety attack", and I just knew that something was going on, because the way I felt. So, now 4 years later, I'm diagnosed with SVT, a type of Arrythmia. The only time my blood pressure goes up is when my heart races, other than that its not high at all. How they found out I had SVT, is while I was at the ER, they caught it on the monitor. I'm hoping that this medication will help me, so far so good. Sometimes, I do get anxious, but thats a part of the anxiety I think!? Only thing I have noticed is when i go to bed, I am asleep, and the next morning I feel like I been beat up while sleeping. I'm restless.

I am also glad I found this site! I really have felt that I was going crazy, but when I read through many of the posts, I have realized that Yasmin is slowly destroying my body, mind and life. Yes, maybe all of my problems aren't 100% from this pill, but when I think back, I used to be so much happier. Now, I'm depressed, antisocial and anxious much of the time, plus have a host of physical problems (see posts below) which have appeared in the last couple years. I have had problems with BCPs in the past with depression, but the only physical effect I'd ever had with those was weight gain. Normally, I'm a very healthy individual. It has all come on slowly and has gotten worse with time. For a long time, I had no side-effects, so didn't attribute any of it to this pill. It was only after finding this site, after a particularly bad day of dealing with unexplained nausea, that I see what it has been doing to me... I hope we all heal eventually! I do have lots of hope and am looking forward to the day when this is all behind me. Maybe this is premature, but I've only been off it two days (quit mid-pack) and already feel much more awake, and my pants, which have been tight for months, are fitting loosely! This pill is scary...

First I want to personally thank every single one of you from the bottom of my heart.
I have been on Yasmin for over a year now. I think maybe 2 years. Well I loved the fact I didn't gain any weight at the beginning. Well I have been the biggest b*tch you could ever met. I have had this horrible yeast/bacterial infection since I began Yasmin. I hated everyone, I would stay in my room and sleep everyday if I could, I no longer wanted to have sexual relations with my fiancée, and I just hated my self. I thought I was major depressed but my mom said its something that everyone in college goes through. Now after reading this board I have realized that all this crap is because of my medicine. I have thought I was crazy. I did horrible in high school because all I would do is sleep. I always felt hungry no matter how much I ate. Thank you so much. You are ALL God sent. Thank you all. I go to my OB/GYN Monday for the yeast infections. The first thing I will tell her is I want OFF of yasmin and on to something new.
If anyone has a suggestion of what I could change to please don't hesitate to email me. THANK YOU SO MUCH. I cant thank you enough. You have made me realize I am NOT crazy.

I am currently taking Lipitor, I was taking another cholesterol med, don't remember what it was, but it was changed because the other wasn't effective. My cholesterol is great. Tonight while researching multiple symptoms I am having, I found this site. I have been on Lipitor for around 2 years now. For 2 years I have also been being treated for severe leg cramps, they knot up at times, this was diagnosed as Restless legs syndrome. I have numbness and tingling in my hands, my doc says most likely carpel tunnel ( I really don't do anything repeatedly with my hands) , my ears ring constantly, my hands and legs swell daily, so now I am taking a diuretic for that, I have constant headaches, blurred vision, severe upper and lower back pain, joint and muscle pain, severe dry mouth, at times I get very swollen gums (no bleeding of the gums) a metallic taste or salty taste in my mouth all the time, and unexplained pain , like bruises, all over my body. I am making another appointment in the morning about the dry mouth and gum pain, recently my teeth just started falling apart, my doc said that was from poor dental care, I brush my teeth at least 4 times a day and use mouthwash.
