Well, I found this site just AFTER I started a new med for my BP. Finally figured out the lisinopril was the cause of my horrible cough. I started taking the drug in Nov of 2003. And had a surgury in Dec ....thought the cough was from the tube down my throat. Then it was flu/cold season. The cough steadily got worse, more frequent. My wife overheard someone say their doc was changing their BP meds because of a cough. Well I have been off lisinopril for two weeks and the cough is mild now. However this site brought to light ALL the other symptoms I never realized were from the drug.
Eye twitches,head sweats,vivid dreams.
The lisinopril did control my BP.
Hopefully this new med will work as well.
Lisinopril is just not the right one for me.
Good luck to Everyone!

I have been taking Lisinopril for some years now. First 5mg daily, then 10mg. I suffer from white coat syndrome i.e. my B.P soars when I get it taken at the doctor's. It has been as high as 198/122. I bought a B.P measure - the sort where you wrap a cuff round your arm. My husband has learnt how to take my B.P. & it is now usually around 120/70.
As far as side effects go I have these: cough; depression; anxiety; weight gain; hair thinning; memory loss; searching for words. ice cold feet, head sweats. I am 59 and don't know how many of these symptoms I would be showing anyway. A lot of women of my age who are not on lisinopril have thinning hair, gain weight and forget words. They also have hot flushes. This is the trouble you don't know exactly whether it's the drugs or not. anybody want to reply to this?

My 12 year old son has been on 60 mg of Prednisone for two weeks now. His side effects have not been bad at all up to this point. He's gained about 6 pounds. His brain is unusually active right after taking the drug, and this effects lasts a few hours. He's always been a wildly creative kid but prednisone seems to intensify is creativity and the productivity of his brain. He has Tourette Syndrome and his tics waned overnight after beginning the meds so that is a big bonus if prednisone is responsible for that. He has always been an insomniac since he was a baby but prednisone makes him sleepy, so sleepy he takes naps during the day and goes to bed early, sleeping soundly all night, so soundly he had an accident and wet his bed last night. His head sweats when he sleeps. He has infrequent periods of mild irritability. His appetite has increased but not unnaturally so. Seems like he finally has a sustained healthy appetite. He goes to 45 mg for two weeks tomorrow so I'm interested to see what new side effects this brings on. No stomach problems despite taking this along with very high doses of antibiotic. Maybe the prevacid he takes with Lactobacillus is helping with that and the fact that he takes his meds with small meals or lots of fluid.
