Health dept symptoms and conditions

I'm so frustrated with the Depo injections in general. I received my first injection Nov '03...I was 19 years old it was highly recommended to me at the Health Dept because I'm a lazy pill taker and at the time I questioned the side effects, but the general pamphlet I received mentioned NOTHING of bone depletion being a side effect... and after the first few months of constant irregular bleeding, things were great, no periods, no pill, I was okay with gaining the 20lbs for it...about one year in one of my molars just randomly chipped, my dentist told me it wasn't anything to worry about, it didn't need a filing...less than two months later the tooth cracked down the center... I needed a root canal...one year later during my routine visit my dentist found 5 more molars that needed root canals.... 6 months later all my filings began coming out one by one... My dentist said I wasn't taking care of my teeth, but I brush 3 times a day and floss!! It's been 6 years since I started Depo injections, last year in Sept '08 during my yearly, the OBGYN looks at my file and says "oh I hadn't realized you've been on the Depo 5yrs, you need to take a year off, let your body rest" then she handed my some pill packs and a jar of calcium supplements and sent me on my way. I never even knew about the Depo Black Box Warning, now I realize why my teeth are falling out... I need a filing or root canal on every single tooth in my mouth, they are rotting from the inside out....I've put 7grand in my mouth so far... I can't even afford to keep up with it anymore... I wish I had known what not having a period was going to cost me. I'm 25 years old and I look like I've been doing Meth since I was 19.

I have had mine since oct 06, I immediately started to have unusual discharge, so much that I have to wear panty liners or a lite tampon, It's extremely embarrassing to have to go through with it everyday, especially in the summer, when i wanna wear a bathing suit. I also hate to have sex, it hurts so much, I can barely take it. I have been oody and miserable, around the time I do get my period I have very tender breasts. My period is lite and only lasts a few days, so no complaint there. I have enlarged cysts now, and they also contribute to my pain during sex. I have no sex drive whatsoever. Could care less. And I use to have sex on a regular basis.

For the past year I have been struggling with acne, I have never had pimples in my life, so now having the right side of my face full of acne and nothing, nothing will treat it. I didn't have much weight gain at all. Im back to my regular size, but I do workout now, and haven't lost anything either.

I thought for the past 3 years I've been crazy, Im depressed, but nothing to be depressed about, I dont have a stressful job, Im healthy, taken care of. But I can cry over nothing, literally, I cry everyday, and lately its getting worse, I thought I was pregnant, because I felt so emotional, I was feeling flutters in my stomach. Things that I felt the first itme.

I don't have insurance, and make to much to get medicare. I really want to get it taken out. This has affected my life so much, that its ruining my relationship with my boyfriend.

I cant believe how many others are having same symptoms, I should have looked into this a long long time ago. Hopefully I can have planned parenthood take it out.

this is my first post. i've had most of the same side effects as everyone else. i called my ob's office to have it removed and they tried to talk me out of it too. told me to come and do some tests to see if it's something else. then (blessing in disguise) i lost my job before my appointment. i call my local health dept. and ask if they can remove my mirena, and they say sure, can you come in tomorrow. no questions, no trying to talk me out of it. the cost is a sliding scale based on your income. i think they also take insurance.

Hey I see Im not the only one with problems that the doctors blam on other things!! I have always been so healthy UNTIL I had twins in Feb 06 and had Mirena put in Oct 06 and almost immediately started having side effects.I started to read up and realized the ones I had were all listed as side effects with it.The first side effects weren't that bad but OMG now I am horrible.I have so many side effects and am wondering if anyone is in the same boat??Mine are:weight gain,hair loss,facial hair,migraines,irritability,fatigue,NO sex drive,anxiety,depression,fluttering in my stomach,back and joint pain,pain during sex,stomach spasms,the list goes ON and ON, oh and lets not forget they say I have PCOS!! Now I wish they could tell me how I went from perfectly healthy to THIS!! I have been to 3 different docs and asked to have it removed but surprise surprise they all did not want to remove it and now I have NO insurance..I am to the point if I could take the thing out myself I would!! I am SOOO miserable and if I say I want it out who are they to tell me no?? Can anyone else relate?? I AM GOING CRAZY!!!

I have had bronchitis for 3 weeks. I first was prescribed a 5-day Z-pack, which didn't do the trick. Went back to the clinic doctor, as I don't have insurance, and I switched to Levaquim, 500mg/day, once a day, for 7 days. Its now 5 days in and I'm still sick. I don't cough a lot because of the Hydromet cough syrup, but I can tell I'm still sick.

Side effects have been insomnia mainly, and a sporadic inability to concentrate. I have not been nauseas at all, nor have I had any of the joint or other pain reported by other people. I can't even be sure the side effects I have had are from the Levaquin, as opposed to the cough syrup.

I, too, felt FINE in the beginning. I thought it was so wonderful not to have to worry about taking a pill or anything!

My sister was so gung-ho about it, I didn't want to tell her that my Mirena was giving me trouble. Well, I wanted to add one more post because today she called and I asked her about her Mirena.
She said, "Oh, I had mine removed WEEKS AGO!"
She, too, was having the same trouble as MOST OF US!

Never sleeping through the night w/out getting up to pee.

Getting mad at her kids for no reason.

Being TIRED all the time. Waking up not feeling RESTED.

Blurred vision, assuming her contacts were just messed up.

She had stabbing pains in her side... turns out the Mirena was cock-eyed and GREW into her UTERINE WALL... when they tried to remove it, it was stuck there. Luckily, the nurse gave it a good YANK and it came out, but it was definitely painful. She feels the pain still because it is still healing.

These are only a few of the side effects. It hadn't even occurred to me that my legs, too, are COVERED in BRUISES and I could never figure out where they came from.

I, too, have had burning and tight eyeballs. I NEVER wear my contacts anymore, because I constantly feel like I've had no sleep. I had to buy a SLEEP AID so I could try to get some good sleep!

Without getting TOO personal, I also understand why the Mirena is so effective. It's because you're too TIRED to want to be close to your husband, and you just want to be left ALONE all the time. (Not to mention, he won't want to get near the mega-beast anyway!)

My sister (before having her Mirena removed) also thought something was wrong with her health. So her doctor recommended she get her blood tested. Well, of course, everything came back perfectly healthy! Go figure! Well, she says that most of these symptoms are GONE since the removal. I have to wait another MONTH before getting mine out, since my doctor is going on vacation. But I feel better already, just knowing that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope you will consider these things, because so many of us have had the same things happen to us! And life is too short to let ONE DAY be ruined unnecessarily!!

I have had the Merina IUD for almost a year now ,, when I got it put it I thought I was gonna faint it was so painful,, I have had severe cramps non stop since I have had the IUD,, I have made several trips to the ER and they try to make it out like ive just got an infection ,well things never got any better so i kept on going until they told me something that was worth hearing well sure enough about 6mnths after having my IUD I got told that I had a 3cm by 3cm mass on my uteras that some women experience with an IUD and still its in my uteras right along with the IUD ,, and like all the other women out there having problems ,, I have experienced low sex drive , sever irritability, weight gain, and im just plain oumit miserable. I have been having an awful fishy smelling discharge for the past 3 months, and like most women my OBGYN tries to throw the truth of the matter off and try to make it out like im crazy,, heck no!! im not crazy and I know my body and I know this just aint normal,,so I made me an appointment at my local Health Dept to get this thing out of Sooo!!! to all the women out there that want an IUD I don't recommend it,, Its dangerous and all it does is destroy your body and your life :(.....I hope all goes well with all of you , best wishes and good luck!! I started using Avalide on Nov 05, 04 picked it up at Agape Health Dept 300/12.5mg in Jacksonville fl. My hair is coming out in chunks I've lost a lot of hair I now have bald patches on both sides in the top middle and left back. Empty, bald, I called the pharmancy last week Dec 28, 04 at 904-301-4900 and was told he would call Bristel Myers for them to call me and some one will also call me from the clinic I have not receive a call. I asked what side effects do this Avalide have. To let you no this is all the medications I'm taking.
