I have been on Lexapro for several years to help with migraine auras brought on by anxiety.
6 months ago my doctor put me on Vitorin for my high cholesterol (280 total) which was not being controlled with Lipitor. Lately I have been having the auras again and thought maybe the Lexapro had stopped working.
I also have a problem sleeping straight through the night, have recently started having strong frequent urges to urinate, and some strange mental/visual experiences. e.g. I was recently in route to JFK terminal and I swore that a sign said "Jet Blue-terminal 4". My daughter said that it was 6 but my brain literally SAW 4. She was right.
The other day I was taking a frozen dinner out of the freezer for lunch. The package said "Stouffers" and I was surprised because I didn't think I had bought Stouffers. When I went to open it it was a "Smart One" frozen meal, but I SWEAR I saw "Stouffers." I'm 54 but thought maybe I had a brain tumor or early Altsheimers or something.
I came upon this forum by mistake looking for answers. Maybe Vytorin is my problem, even though I do not experience any of the joint or muscle pain.
I need to go back to my primary physician to have the cholesterol rechecked. This better all end soon because its scaring the daylights out of me!

My Mirena IUC has been in for 3 months and I'm having it taken out tomorrow. There was a lot of irregular bleeding from spotting to period-type, but the worst side effects have been the acne, fatigue, and bone pain. My hands have even been swelling. I also seem to have intermittent swelling of my lower abdomen. Last month, ongoing back pain and digestive problems had started. I've missed a few days of work. The convenience of Mirena is not worth the side effects for me. Also have had ongoing headaches and some dizziness. These are all side effects of the hormone in Mirena according to other websites, but by Gyn says they are not. Either way, it's just not for me. Mini-pill - here I come!

I'm 27 years old and last week caught acute Bronchitis. I managed to quit smoking the day before, I just decided that its not good for me anymore and I should quit now that I am young. So I suppose the combined effects of getting Bronchitis and getting rid of all the smoking stuff in my lungs made the Bronchitis worse. Anyway I went to my Doctor and he prescribed 40g Prednisone for 5 days taking all the 5g tablets (8 in total) in the morning. I have recently also lost 35kg's due to healthier eating and getting a healthier lifestyle took me a year to do it but now I am really scared that the Cortisone will make me gain the weight back. I went back to my Doctor today and he has put me onto a Nebulizer with more cortisone and prescribed another 5 days of the same Prednisone treatment as before. Then he said he would wean me off it?? Is it dangerous to just stop taking it? I am already on a course of antibiotics for the lung infection and on expoctorant medicine as well as vitamin tablets. Do I really need the Prednisone? Can someone maybe try and explain whether its a good idea to be on such a high dosage? Just feeling a bit scared about all of this, cause I don't like Cortisone side effects.
