80 mg prescribed over 18mth period - shoulder pain began after one year - acute pain at night', diminishing rotational capability during the day. Second shoulder pain followed soon after with same symptoms. Feels as if the joint is becoming unstable and the moving skeletal components rubbing together and jarring.(clicks, clonks felt & heard) GP immediately took me off them and arranged physio. After two weeks without simvastatin there is no change/ relief in symptoms

I stumbled onto this site while trying to find a reason for these headaches I get sometimes for no" apparent" reason. Imagine my surprise to find your testimonies about your lives on warfarin sodium. At 38, I had surgery to repair a congenital defect of the aortic valve and had to have a hema-shield graph to repair an aneurysm of the aorta. That was in Oct.2002. Warfarin has been a part of my life since then. I was also put on anti-depressants because my family Dr. thought I was depressed since I repeatedly complained of not feeling well.(I took myself off the anti-depressants a couple of years ago.) Extreme fatigue , serious memory issues, thinning hair, dizzy spells and numerous other ailments continue to plague me.Add to that a large weight gain ...and, well, you get the picture. If anyone knows of an alternative to taking this "poison", PLEASE, PLEASE let me know. I just WANT MY LIFE BACK!!! I actually cried after reading this blog. As I explained to my husband, I suppose it was from the sheer relief of knowing I was not going insane!!!

I am 33 years old and after a blood test about 6 months ago showed my cholesterol levels high my doctor prescribed me 40MG Zocor (actually generic Simvastatin). Since then I've started to forget things and just cognitively I'm slower and less capable. I also had more aches and pains and a weird creak in my knee showed up, but I really didn't key in on that stuff. I went back to my doctor and told him about the cognitive issues and he said "that shouldn't be a side effect of this drug".Well I am very glad I found this website because at least now I know I am not crazy. I stopped taking that garbage about 4 weeks ago and ever since that fog has been lifting.
I have also made a new commitment to myself to include more "heart healthy" foods into my diet and to completely eliminate all red meats as well. I realize there may be some validity to the studies done remarking that high cholesterol is an indication of something bad, but I am not convinced the medical community actually has a comprehensive understanding of cholesterol in the body. I will still go into the doctor to get my levels checked, but I will probably not go back to my old doctor. I'll probably find a doctor who is a little more open to other options. I hate to say it, but I have lost my confidence in my doctor. If I tried to pull something like that in my job as a computer network engineer my customers would simply say "it wasn't like this before you started". Jedi mind trick doesn't work buddy. My body wasn't like this before you gave me that stuff.

I am 28 and just suffered a pulmonary embolism (P.E.), very unusual for someone my age. I went into the hospital three times before they found it. I had severe pain in my upper left back, shoulder blade and neck when I first went in and the doc told me I was just having muscle spasms...I played Division I basketball for 4 years and am now a coach...I told him it wasn't a muscle spasm, but he sent me home with Ibuprofin....The second time I went in, I had worse pain two days later and told him it wasn't going away that something was really wrong. They did lung ex-rays, MRI and didn't find anything. They did no ultrasound or CT...hmmm. The third time I went in, I had terrible pain in my right side as though someone was stabbing me in the side. Couldn't catch my breath and was in absolute agony.
Finally they did a CT and ultrasound and found it at 6:30am on a Monday evening. I am very lucky that the third time I was admitted into the ER after a week, that they did a CT that found the P.E. I very easily could have died.

I was on Yasmin birth control for a year, unusual for a clot to occur after taking birth control for that amount of time, so they are not sure if that caused it and are still uncertain of the cause for my P.E. Maybe a blood disorder that I have not yet been tested for.

At the beginning of my warfarin treatment, I didn't experience headaches. Now though, after about 3-4 weeks...I am experiencing headaches in the middle of my forehead that are driving me crazy. I'm wondering if it is stress from all that I have gone through...an extremely painful experience...or a side effect of the drug.

Also, pain in my legs have been a problem. They feel heavy, like carrying around lead and I don't feel like I have much energy. I don't have much of an appetite anymore either. I have always been extremely active, stay at a healthy weight and have wanted to eat meals! Not so much anymore.

I'm not a smoker, and eat healthy foods...This is all very uncharacteristic for me and I'm extremely frustrated. I understand that it will take a while for me to recover from all of this, and inpatience with the matter could be a problem causing stress.

If you have any feedback, please let me know.

I am 38 and I have been using the NuvaRing since 3/23/08. My GYN thought it would help regulate my hormones, as I was experiencing vaginal dryness and decreased libido. I have been on BCPs since I was 18, except for 2 pregnancies and breast feeding. I had no problems on BCPs, except the vaginal dryness and decreased libido (which have been coming on gradually). So far, I have breast enlargement and tenderness, emotional lability, and I have not slept well since it went in (waking up frequently and vivid dreams). I'm going to stick it out a little while, but WOW, I didn't sign up for this. If this form of BC has less hormones then why do I feel this way?

I've been on Topamax since Sept 2007 and the only side effects I have had were at the beginning were the tingling in the hands and feet when I was brining my dosage up. Soda tastes awful but I no longer drink it and that is a godsend after being a heavy drinker of it for years. I do find there are time when I can't find the right word to say, or I forget what I was doing, but I deal with it. I have lost 20 pounds since being on the medication. After being on it for 6 months the tingling is gone, I usually counteracted it by drinking plenty of water in the morning, that got rid of it. The drug has taken away the migraines, and regular headaches I have suffered from for years. It has also stabilized my moods and taken away my anxiety issues. I'm 36 and have never felt better. Topamax is definitely not for everyone. For those that are suffering, please do contact your doctors and try to get off the medication.

My 9 year old daughter has been on Singulair for almost 6 months. Her asthma symptoms have completely gone away. She no longer has her night time cough, post nasal drip, and frequent colds due to allergies. However, she has gained almost 10 pounds, has been tired and has complained of sore muscles. She has had night mares and leg cramps at night. She has also had frequent mood swings. I thought this was just due to her age. She used to be a sweet, kind, patient girl most of the time, and she has been quick to have temper tantrums, cry and/or yell at us over the silliest things. She is a very active girl- dance, soccer, swimming, etc. and she eats healthy foods for the most part. I could not understand why her face was looking so bloated and her pants were all getting too tight all in such a short amount of time. We are taking her off of this medication immediately!

I have been on Topamax for a little over a year. I've had most of the side effects; tingling, numbness in the fingers, dry mouth, forgetfulness, and weight loss - love the weight loss. All the side effects have sort of slowed down as I've been on the medication longer. The weight loss has slowed and I've even began to get my appetite back- I'm afraid I'm going to start gaining weight now! I've lost about 40 pounds and I needed to lose it, so that was wonderful. I've had a very hard time losing weight all my life so this was wonderful.

I was addicted to Coca Cola and this med also helped me kick that habit because I lost my taste for the carbonation.

Does anyone know if the weight loss usually evens out after about a year or a year and a half? I need to lose about 30 more pounds and was hoping that I would continue losing weight!

Anyway, I was on the Topamax for headaches and it has completely helped that! It has truly been a God-send for me. Other than monthly hormone headaches, I don't get migraines hardly at all!

I am wondering about having my doc up my dosage for the weight loss aspect????

I've been on Yaz for 1 year now. I've been in a deep depression since September ( 6 months on Yaz) for which I've had to seek treatment. It took 4 months to get me straightened out on medications and still daily I struggle with it.

Also I've noticed right shoulder pain, weight gain (60 pounds), no libido, chronic fatigue, bloating with horrible gas.Is all of this from the Yaz or is it my depression or what? I'm having a really hard time sorting thru all of this.

Been on 20 mg. Lipitor for 4 years. It brought my total cholesterol down from 290 to 190. Tolerated it well for awhile, then I started dragging. Last year, started having ringing in ears, dizziness and fatigue. Had MRI, MRA, heart CT scan, blood work, etc. and they could find nothing wrong. I have suspected Liptitor for awhile, but doctor was so proud that my cholesterol was going down, he wanted to increase dosage to 40 mg., I tried it for a week and felt worse. He told me to reduce it back to 20 mg. But now, I feel so bad with extreme debilitating fatigue and nausea. The ringing in my ears is driving me crazy. I have talked to several people who told me they felt the same way on Lipitor and when they got off, the felt so much better. I hate to give up the progress of getting my cholesterol down, but at what price? I just hope it gets out of my system real quick. Will try to keep cholesterol down by eating more healthy foods (I love red meat and fried chicken).

Lupron is terrible! I was given lupron after my lap which discovered endometriosis. I had my second injection last week. My pelvic pain is still here and now the Lupron side effects are killing me. I have insomnia, restlessness, bad mood swings, back hurts all the time, fatigue all the time, depression, headaches, and awful HOT FLASHES. I was not given other options but to take this poison. If I had done my research I would have said hell no to Lupron. It's all about the money...Dr's and pharmacy companies are making the big bucks while most of us suffer. Oh yes, and my blood pressure, which is normally low (110/60) is now up to 150/100. I'm not thinking this is too great for my health. And another sad thing is that the long term effects are not really known. I WILL NOT take another injection. I would rather take my regular endo pain over this in a heartbeat. Don't let them fool you.......Lupron is a VERY BAD thing. Anyone who is thinking about....do you research and think long and hard . Is it worth it? I don't think so...

hi, i used to have the same anxiety when i was on yasmin,i was convinced that i had something terrible and that i was going to die. i went to my doctors and had a complet check up and everything was fine. if i start to worry now i try to think positively and keep myself busy. do you have a healthy lifestyle? if not, try to eat healthy foods (organic if posible to avoid artificial hormones in meat etc) take a good vitamin supplement and excercise, the fitter you are the more confidence you will have in your body.it works i promise! please keep telling yourself when you get worried that you are fine and just keep reassuring yourself hopefully your mind will pick up this new way of thinking and will not keep drifting back to the negative patterns. i hope some of that helps you.

I am an asthmatic and have taken high does of pred. I have just gotten off 2 months worth....have been off 1 month now and still feel some of the anxiety. I have to agree with jules on everything. Pred. is a nasty drug...docs dont like to put you on it unless they find it necessary.....HOWEVER.....the drug benefits definitely out weigh the side effects (and this is coming from someone with panic disorder) all drugs have benefits and side effects...even asprin! You should all make sure you have a GREAT doctor and educate yourself about your meds BEFORE you take them! And try to ward off some of the side effects ahead of time....it can be done. You do not need to gain loads of weight while on pred...that is an excuse, like a woman who is pregnant and gains 80lbs Some you cant help but the ones you can try to count act with....healthy foods to munch on....drink plenty of water.....take xanx if the anxiety is too bad etc.......

My Name is Bill, I have been on 20 Mgs Lisinopril for one year or more. I'm 56 years old. I have "no" alergies and I do not smoke. But I do sometime smoke a cigar for fun. I don't have coughing problem or hair loss, My sexual performance is the same as it was when I was 21 years old. But not as erect. I do have a problem with sore Joints that takes months to heal. I sometimes feel my legs buckling. I got off the drug for a week and my knees healed. Could this drug slow the healing process ?? Oh, by the way, my erection power returned and I had a wet dream. (not trying to be perverted Just informative) My BP without Lisinopril, 190/30. With, 180/21.
I'm not a heavy drinker and I take "no" other drugs. Only a multimin per day. I eat only healthy foods and My memory is exceptional. I'm back on Lisinopril until I find a substitute. Because of this drug I'm unable to perform my favorite hobby, Bowling. Let me know if someone is experiencing the same symtoms.
