My husband has been taking Lipitor for a year. Several weeks after he started taking it he had muscle aches and when he went for a follow-up we discussed this concern and the neurologist said that it was ok and would go away. He had a stroke several years before and had some damage and he was tired. He complained about him getting weaker and his muscles hurting, he has left shoulder and arm pain. His chest hurts on the right side and doctors told him that he has inflammation between the muscle and chest wall but it has not cleared up after many months and meds. He is so weak now and is dropping things. He has some muscle twitching. I think it is from the Lipitor because the symptoms started after he was put on this drug. Doctor says that it is very unlikely..Has anyone else had these problems while taking Lipitor???

OMG! And I thought I was dying! LOL I am having the same problems... I have been hurting badly right above my stomach. I have had a lot of nausea and gas. Also, I have had problems with diarrhea for the first 2-3 months of having it. I have had cramping and frequent urges to use the bathroom and go to the bathroom about anytime I eat something. And I fell butterflies in my stomach... and sometimes flutters like I felt when I was pregnant. I was never like this before. I spot bleed a lot. I wish they would have told me that the spot bleeding could be a daily event. I would have bought stock in Tampax and Always. LOL N e ways... I told my mother about the pain I had been experiencing and she thought it was my gallbladder. I went to my doctor and they ran tests. She told me that my gallbladder was fine. I called my gyno and told her about what I had been experiencing and asked her if it was linked to the Mirena and she told me it could be... that with time my problems would get better, but she would take it, but to think about it. After reading all of your postings I believe I will call and make an appointment tomorrow. I was just telling my husband how I miss feeling normal... well like I did before the baby and the mirena. Did anyone get theirs removed? And if so did your problem resolve?

After many months on Zocor, I began to experience sore knees, stiff legs and sore lower back. All at once, in about a one week period, I could no longer walk. My leg muscles were completely gone. I have been for xrays, MRI and more. I am convinced it is the zocor and have quit taking it, however after almost a month without, I still cannot walk without support. My upper body is fine..Right leg better than left leg, left leg almost useless. No more statins for this 71 year old and used to be VERY active male. I hope I can get it all back.

DH, I know how you feel! It is horrible!
I had mine out on Tuesday. It was the best thing I had done!
My anxiety/breathlessness has gone already. No headaches. My head feels clearer. I am less moody already...hubby said that I seem much happier since Tues pm, back to my old self. Slight cramps, but again probably to do with the infection we suspect I had. I am not tired. I am not having night sweats. Today I did a whoole heap of stuff around the house that I haven't had the energy for before now!
The best thing,....last night I wanted to be intimate with hubby! For the first time since I had it fitted! Not that we could, not protected, infection etc...but what a breakthrough!
Hope everyone who wants it out, gets it out! It really does feel much nicer without it!

Hi everyone,
i need to tell you about what just happened to me, because it seems most people are definitely not informed of all the possible side effects of prednisone - not only just relating to the dose of prednisone you take but also for how long.
I have been using prednisone for almost 14 years now, the doctors all tell me i'm unlikely to ever get off prednisone now because i've been on it too long. I know all about it's usual side effects (water retention, mood swings, thinning of all tissues including blood, acne, anemia, etc etc).
One side effect i was not advised of, not even in any educational material about prednisone either, was that long-term dependence can lead to Acute Adrenal Crisis. Which is deadly if not diagnosed and treated promptly. Thus i nearly died two weeks ago. I became rapidly ill with vague symptoms that i now know are symptoms of acute adrenal crisis. *THE ONLY REASON THE ACUTE ADRENAL CRISIS OCCURRED WAS BECAUSE OF LONG-TERM USE OF PREDNISONE*. Not many doctors will warn patients in advance of this. It is however, very very important that people are aware that long-term use of prednisone needs to be very carefully weighed with the benefits of using prednisone (i was started on prednisone in 1995 to treat severe Crohn's Disease).
Acute adrenal crisis can happen over weeks, months or years - in other words, it can come on so slowly that by the time you know there's something wrong you're already very very ill and in great danger.
I am very glad to have found this website and i hope you will all refer anyone who has any experience with prednisone to this site - education and knowledge is power - the power to stay alive.
(by the way, the treatment for acute adrenal crisis is to load up on prednisone - seems i'll probably never be free of this drug unless i can get my adrenal glands to begin working again (as prednisone "takes over" for the adrenal glands and they effectively go to sleep, and this is especially true for long-term use)).
My sympathies to everyone who has to go through the many nasty experiences with prednisone, especially the young children (I had to start it when i was 16). It really does mess with your body and mind, and in my case, became lethal.
Please pass on all your information relating to use of prednisone to everyone you can - it really is that important and seems to be the only way to avoid most of the disasters related to prednisone use.
take care everyone,
Linda

I am a new to BC. I am on my 2nd ring and I am having really bad headaches. I also have been sweating. I wake up during the night drenched from sweat. While trying to exercise, walk, or shop I am so hot I am removing clothing and fanning myself for relief. This past week while shopping at the grocery store I became so hot that I had to leave my cart and stand out side in the rain for relief. I have read a few of the past entries but no one has mentioned sweating as a side effect. Oh and shall I mention I am only 27 yrs old so no chance of menopause. Could this be a side effect from the Ring?

I have been on Yas for about 4 years i was originally put on it for acne which cleared up slightly i still have it not as bad but recently i am that moody i feel depressed again ( had it 5 years ago post natal), real lack of libido to the point where my partner thinks I'm not attracted to him anymore, headaches, monthly aching legs, hungry i lost a heap of weight then recently started to gain it again, IBS, I also get my period the week before it says i should my doctor said it would fix up but it hasn't and it's not as if I've just started taking it. Also it is one of the most expensive pills so I'm a bit undecided whether to stick to it or to change.I don't know if any of this is related to Yas but after reading what is on this site I'm starting to wonder!!

I was on Celexa for about 5 weeks for panic attacks and anxiety but wasn't getting much better. My doctor switched me to Zoloft, I was on it about 10 days but I decided to discontinue it yesterday because it was causing extreme drowsiness, horrific headaches, weird crying spouts, and more anxiousness. Today, the first day being off Zoloft is harsh, I was in bed half the day and I feel like I'm in a dream and the headache is still there. Although , its about 630pm now and I feel a little better than earlier but not much. Hopefully tomorrow will be better? I'm also on Ativan.

My husband is in the advanced stages of Alzheimers. He has a cough and the doctor prescribed liquid guaifen. After giving it to him, every six hours for a day, he is confused more than usual, cannot stand up, mumbles and moans incessantly. I'm going to stop giving this to him and call the doctor in the morning. I hope this is what's keeping him from standing. Otherwise, we're in a heap of trouble! I'll let you know.

I have had palpitations, racing heart, dizziness, blurred vision, fatigue and nausea since I had the IUD inserted over a week ago - Ive been through a whole heap of tests and they have all came back fine. Im wondering if Im reacting to the hormone in it?? as I haven't taken the pill before either. If the symptoms don't go away Im having it removed but I think the most frustrating thing is being told they don't know whats wrong with you and you thinking it's all in your head :( I am post baby but I was feeling well before the Mirena - not so well since...
