To Sylvia,

yes, while on yasmin I noticed my ears would feel like they would "pop" immedidately after taking the pill in the morning originally-as though you were talking in a bubble. But what was really happening was like what happens when you are descending in an airplane....I've been off for two months but still have pressure in both ears and I too can hear my heart beating in my ears-that I think is normal though unless you may have a more congestion than I have. I have also had colds now for two months since going off of the Yasmin! I am planning on going back to the RN this Wednesday to re-address and ensure that I don't have a greater risk-of health.

To Yasminresearcher,

I have been off Yasmin for nearly 6 months and I did experience some ear problems when I was on Yasmin. The doctor kept telling me that I had media otitis with some mild infection, a damaged drum and that it would clear, it never really cleared. I am still having some kind of ear congestion : my ears feel blocked and I can hear my heart beating into them especially when I lay down or turn sides in the bed at night, also when I sit and I get up very quickly. This condition was getting better as soon as I stopped the pill but it has started again recently although not as bad as it used to be. Have you experienced the same ? Also what do you mean by 'heart murmur'?

I have been on Toprol XL for approximately 2 years. I started out on 25 mg. for palpations and rapid heart. Then the dosage was increased to 50 mg. and now the doctor wants me to take 100 mg. I have freezing hands and feet. My eyes are either so dry or watery so that I cannot hardly see. I have at times terrible shoulder, arm and leg pain. My brain feels likes it's full of goo. I can't think.

I am currently wearing a King of Hearts monitor. I have sent approximately 15 transmissions. During the transmissions I can hear my heart speeding up. The technician who takes my transmissions keeps telling me that my heart is beating normally. If that is the case, then I must ask my cardiologist at my next appointment, why am I taking Toprol and spending $35 a month for the medication if my heart is normal? By the way I am NOT increasing my dosage to 100 mg. I will stick with the 50 mg. for now and am considering tapering off even more.

Hi Everyone,
I have been off Yasmin now for 24 days. I just got a cold (seems to be going around) and I took a Benadryl cold and congestion yesterday at about 7 am. I didn't go to work b/c I felt horrible. However, my numbness came back yesterday. I haven't had it in about a week or so. I was just wondering if it is b/c of the Benadryl, or if maybe the cold triggered these symptoms. Or if it is maybe even b/c I should be getting my period next week, and from what I have read the anxiety symtoms came back around menstration. If I do get it it will be the first normal cycle since off of it. Also since yesterday, I can hear my heart beat or a pulse in my right ear. This is the side where I get the numbing and tingling. I am wondering if it's due to my cold or just brought out by it. I did get it every now and then when I was on yasmin. Also has anyone experience this.
Thanks a lot and I really do love this site.

I have been on advair for about 3-4 months. I can hear my heart beat in my ear on my right side. Has this happened to anyone else. I do have high blood pressure. I am just trying to find an answer to the problem.

I suggest to anyone who is taking Advair, please stop taking this poison! Let me tell you about my life for the past week. First of all, I am 33 years old and in pretty good health except for asthma which I have had since I was 18. I have been on Advair for a little over a year. I was on Serevent before that. I also take Singulair which I love. Let me start with the past week of my so called life. After 3 weeks of feeling extremely exhausted and not being able to stand up without being dizzy, I woke up one morning and thought my heart was going to pound through my chest. I spent an entire day sitting in one spot trying to keep calm while my heart raced and skipped and pounded. Trying to sleep that night was a joke because there was no change . The next day I went to my Chiropractor/Kinnesiologist. His first suspician was my Advair inhaler. I really had him puzzled because my blood pressure was high for the first time ever and he could hear my heart skipping a beat. I did not think he was right about my inhaler because there was NO WAY it could be making me feel this awful.Yet over the entire week that he treated me he was still possitive that I was having a severe "chemical" reaction. On the sixth day of heart palpitaions, skipping beats, and no sleep ( I would try to sleep but every time I would start to doze off, an electrical charge would go through my body) I decided to go to my MD for peace of mind. My heart rate was alarmingly high but my EKG showed a very strong healthy heart! They put me on a holster heart moniter for twenty four hours. I am still waiting to hear the results. My doctor also lowered my dosage from 250/50 to 100/50 which I took only one day until I found this website. My inhaler went in the trash yesterday. I got my first nights sleep last night and today my heart is MUCH calmer. It is still a little shaky and I can't wait for this chemical to leave my system. Over the past year I have gone from a healthy, active 33 year old to a 33 year old in a 90 year old body. I have thought that I was developing Rhuematoid arthritis due to extreme pain in my shoulder, hands and neck. Then I was even convinced that I had Fibromyalgia. I have been so tired. I have had a rash develop that I could not explain on my arms and legs. I have forgotten what it is like to sleep a normal night. I believe that this is all the workings of Advair. I am in the process of finding out if I have any legal rights. This drug has taken a year of my life away since I feel like I have been in a fog. I forgot to mention short term memory problems. I did not agree to be a lab rat. Once again, if I had not found this website I don't know how long it would have taken me to figure it out or atleast believe my Chiroprator (Thank God for him!). Throw your advair in the trash where it belongs!!

I took Effexor for two weeks and during that time I notices my energy escalating every day. My heart was racing and this got worse each day. I didn't mind though because I had been so badly depressed so when the doctor said that I may have to go off it (the lowest dose is what I was taking) I told her I didn't want to because I finally feel like I don't have to sleep all the time and my mind was so alert. She said if it kept up I couldn't have it. Within two days of seeing her I was like a nut case - telling my husband I wasn't going to leave the house at night anymore because it was dangerous to drive and kept him up all night because I could hear my heart beating really loud and it scared me - he took the pills away and told me I couldn't have them back until I called the doctor and told her what was happening. Wow! I felt like a drug addict that would fight for my pills and realized this was not good. The doctor switched me to Wellbutrin and I feel just fine on this medication. No racing heart, no staying up all night, no abnormal thinking. Everyone has a different reaction to different medications and some that have worked for me have not worked for others and vice versa but the important thing to realize is that there is help out there - keep trying until you find the one that works and always get help if side affects don't seem right. Depression can kill us, just like diabetes if left without care. I wish you all the best!!

I have just started using Flomax. My first experiences of side effects seem to include insomnia, negative dreams which are exceedingly rare for me otherwise, dizziness when standing up to urinate at night, and pressure in my ears so that I can even hear my heart beat at night, or the sign of heart beat in my ears from effects on blood vessels in the ears. I have not given it sufficient "trial" but these are noticable side effects, so far.
